There's more to it than that Joshua has been wary about letting his hands go since the Ruiz fight he was the same against Pulev he should've finished him two three rounds earlier than he did. Yes Usyk was a worthy winner & he schooled Joshua but AJ is a safety first fighter these days. It's not like Usyk was countering AJ he was just picking him off because it was safe to do so.

    • @hurley31

@@johnmichaelson9173 he is more cautious these days no doubt. But he couldn't let his hands go even if he wanted because of Usyk's movement. An iconic performance from Usyk, the way he mesmerised Joshua like a snake-charmer and played with him like a puppeteer was true greatness. Hopefully he gets his flowers now and starts being talked about as P4P top 3 (minimum).
AJ has a 1-10% chance in the rematch but only if he changes his coaching set-up, McCracken’s corner work was awful and AJ’s declining as a fighter under him. A move back to Tony Sims would be perfect I think.

I would have Usyk above Canelo P4P. I had GGG win both fights with Canelo and I think Canelo has beat belt holders rather than champions in divisions he has moved up in, in fact has Canelo really ever beating the man? He has had gift decesion's in GGG fights and Lara. Usyk however won his fights clean beat the best in the Cruiserweight division no question and established himself as the man, beat AJ who is a much better and proven belt holder than the guys Canelo is fighting. Plus Canelo has been caught cheating and is widely suspected he still cheats just to much dodgyness around him with Vada testing, dodgy scorecards, other fighters in his camp popping etc.

Canelo won GGG2 imho. GGG being robbed in the first fight was the biggest judging travesty I can recall in my time following boxing.
I agree that everything points towards Canelo being a flagrant PEDs cheat but until he gets (a) caught good and proper (b) his BS “Mexican beef” excuses dismissed by the appropriate authorities he has the record to justify being top of P4P imho. We can’t use points like “he’s been caught cheating” because the way that came out in the wash it’s not an accurate statement - the finding IIRC was that he *didn’t* cheat. Don’t get me wrong: I’m convinced he *is* a cheat - but until he’s caught bang to rights then, as far as the record shows, he’s not a cheat and therefore that can’t be held against him (imho). If I ran the world, I too would have Usyk top of P4P.

    • @frankjaeger393
      @frankjaeger393 3 года назад

@@parrogakaparadise9477 Yeah I can see how Canelo can be viewed to win rematch it was close fight but the most common opinion and general concensus is GGG won both fights and GGG was champion even if you had Canelo winning was it conclusive enough to take the belts from the champion? Really? Are you sure?
      Usyk it was conclusive.
Regarding the PED it's hard to seperate the politics from the science and neither of us really know but it's a serious question mark and it is consistant with camp also testing positive, the track marks on his torso especially around the GGG fights.
Regardless of all that let's say you think he conclusively best GGG twice, Lara and Mayweather was really MD. Are they better wins than Usyk has? Really? Are you sure?
AJ with huge size advantage? Gassiev in prime? Breidas in prime?
I still got Usyk even if I ignore all the question marks surrounding Canelo and close my eyes watching the GGG and Lara fights.
Then final point what do think is better for the sport fair play and sportsmanship or corruption?

Massive Congratulation to Oleksandr Usyk, totally deserved win👍🏾.
Joshua seems like a nice guy and wants the best for boxing and his community....nuf respect for that.
But now that he's going to start facing elite boxers in the prime of their lives he will always struggle. Yes he has power and reasonable speed but he cannot fight at a high pace round after round, he will gas out.... it's not his fault, it's not about wrong training, it's just a gene selection thing.... that's why no matter how hard some people train they could never become a good middle or long distance runner. Some are blessed with great endurance, some with great strength, some with both.
If Andy Ruiz had trained properly for their second fight and hadn't come in overweight and therefore slower in mobility, if he had trained harder than he did for the first fight (he was called in late as well) I don't think Joshua would've won fight 2 in the style he did without having to take many more punches.
Ruiz just plain blew up and blew the fight.
I think on an elite level AJ will have to just try and blast guys out in the first 3 or 4 rounds and if not successful then try to hang on and avoid getting stopped himself for another few rounds until he hopefully catches a second win to attempt a later rounds stoppage. Maybe with that tactic the initial onslaught he unleashes over the early rounds would significantly weaken his opponent, even though he couldn't stop them and he could survive into the later rounds.....as long as in the meantime he doesn't get his chinny clocked too many times while trying to get there

  • @Maroon498

I thought Usyk was fantastic. He’s a polished artist of the sport. He won those titles with a true boxing masterclass over joshua and I think joshua should stay well away from the rematch.
It’s a fight he simply can’t win because Usyk is too good.
There’s nothing AJ can bring to the table that will shock Usyk, he nullifies every threat he’s just unbelievable.
He’s gonna keep those belts I genuinely believe that and stylistically he’s all wrong for AJ.
If Joshua had have let his hands go last night it wouldn’t have made any difference. He just would’ve been spent by round 5 anyway.
He was worn out at the end just by being conservative.
    Usyk is the real deal.

If you look at AJ in the corner after round 1 was over he made a point to listen to Rob McCracken who was talking to him but then AJ turned to look at each other trainer standing behind the ropes. One was to his right and the other to his left and AJ turned to both of them when it seemed they were not trying to talk to him. As if AJ was saying or asking ok I've heard what Rob said now how about you guys? Anything to say? It was weird to me. You need one voice in the corner. That's the top and bottom of it. And this whole too many cooks in AJ's kitchen is true. But to me it seems that it's all AJ's doing. Very strange.

Canello ducked triple G for 2 years and waited till GGG was near the end of his championship career and older and they still had to steal the fights because Canello spent the fights running away and was still gifted the wins.

Get the facts right when Ruiz beat AJ in there first fight what never should have happened but it did.
The rematch was a joke against Ruiz a fat boy running after AJ for 12 rounds.
AJ won the fight on points and at some moments it looked he was scared.
In that fight there where opportunities to knock Ruiz out and he din't he hold back.
The fight last night showed that AJ chin is his weak spot.
His boxing skill has not improved at all.
Think of the Klishko fight when he got rocked he went on to win the fight on TKO
This had give him a great feeling over the moon feeling.
The TKO against Ruiz is in his head still, he is been exposed.
It means his days are over if he doesn't chance a lot.
Start whit his trainers send them home because they haven't improved him at all.
I think they to nice to him he needs someone that tells him the truth and make him mean again.
He wants his title back he need a trainer that tell him you can only win it back if you are willing to dye for it.

Paul van der Beek. AJ is worth 150£ million and hope these Guys earn same money but AJ will maybe Return but maybe lose but actually might have had enough?&150million ? I'd be enjoying my lifetime with what Joshua has earned and he deserves to continue or retirement.Usyk is 35 Aj is 31 but skills pay bill's and Big Bois can fight up past 40 years plus 🙏🥊

Good discussion. Well done Usyk but AJ was awful. He has the tools to beat Usyk but couldn’t let his hands go and played the wrong plan. He got to where he is by being an aggressive knock out artist. Del Boy was way more effective. How does that happen? He had the brief but threw 3 right hands? Not one big shot!?!?Poor effort. Usyk is class but AJ was terrible. Telling you Fury or White would knock out Usyk in short order. Rob wasn’t happy because he ignored him. And played tippy tap the jab was even weak. Not good enough . Sorry.

AJ came in with the wrong game plan AJ had usyk hurt a couple of times but didn’t jump on him,AJ didn’t turn up he had no aggressiveness he had no dog in him, let’s not make out usyk is just to grate people usyk gets hit a lot but AJ just didn’t let his hands go and trying to box with someone who’s boxed his whole career was just stupid,AJ was the far bigger stronger man he could and should of put usyk to sleep

Muppet. Yeah, yeah, yeah, woulda, coulda, shoulda. "As di bubbe volt gehat beytsim volt zi gevain mayn zaidah", as they say in Yiddish! (If my grandmother had balls she'd be my grandfather!) All AJ had to do was let go! All AJ had to do was throw more shots! All AJ had to do was win! Muppet!

That was the worst game plan rob could've come up with, the corner work was pure malpractice...yeah AJ...stay behind the jab in the 8th when it clearly isnt working? AJ need a Teddy Atlas so he learns how to FIGHT! not Rob's amateur nonsense.
