All respect to Leon but people forget the reality. He was getting beat battered by Usman. He got a lucky kick in that got him the win. Said that all respect to Leon while getting beaten up he had that last throw of the dice to get the win.
The ufc had a great example of what aj needs. Edwards vs Usman. Before the last round edwards was down on rounds and his corner went mad at him, telling him to stop feeling sorry for himself and to pull it out the fire. Next round he goes out and KO’s usman. Joshua doesn’t have that, it’s like they’re afraid to tell him he’s losing and needs to go for it.
In my opinion Aj put on almost a career best performance but Usyk is just a level above. If it wasn’t for the events that took place after the fight AJ would’ve been getting a lot more media and public praise & respect but he/ his team ruined it for him
@@teejay7287 he won 3 or 4 rounds against a fighter that he could fight 100 times and lose 100. He might have only won a few rounds but there were close other rounds. Usyk really was only able to pull away in the last 3 when AJ had given it all
Career best? How?? Go back and watch his Klitchko fight, throwing hard shots the entire fight. Much more active but went all the way until the TKO still swinging hard looking much less fatigued than this fight. Sure maybe he was more technical here cause he had to be, but stretch to say this was the best performance of his career… far from it I would say
He also didn’t let his muscle memory do the work. There were many openings for him that came during a combo where muscle memory should’ve taken over but he’d stop halfway. That was his fear of getting hit
@Pumpkingilmour Yh, he was getting hit and he was afraid of getting hit. Eventually he should’ve bit down on his gum shield and started going at it cause whether he threw or not he was still getting hit
That's definitely true, but even when AJ was throwing Usyk was slipping almost everything or it wasn't landing clean. Then he came back with 3-4 punches, it was just too much for AJ.
The Ruiz thing is too real. He's lost his fearlessness because he knows if a guy he thought wasn't the guy can catch him off guard, everyone certi is a real threat. Fair breakdown on the AJ situation still 👏🏾

That is such a good point you both made about AJ mentally telling himself, "I cannot fight like that for 12 rounds, I'm an 8 round fighter" and even training with that mindset. Really good point.
You guys are realists and true. Said it how it is. So much respect. As an asian man born in uk we always had our elders slapping us if we stepped out of line. So many ppl covering for AJ when a spade should be called a spade. Fair play to you guys. Maybe you guys need to be in the AJ team and tell him how it is.

Chisora, Usyk, Fury, Whyte, Wilder, they've all got styles. AJ had a style, but it was taken from him because as the competition increased, he realized that sometimes he would have to go 12 rounds. He has earned his respect. In my opinion, which doesn't count for anything, he should have been on it from round 1, gone out there to hurt Usyk and get the job done. If you gas out and get pieced up fine, but repeating the first contest didn't work, it wouldn't work a second time. Take the risk to get the rewards. Chisora went in against Usyk and yeah sure he didn't make it but look at what he did to him. Came out with bad intentions and if Chisora can do that, AJ should have been thinking, I can do that, but better
I hope that AJ takes time away, focuses on himself and then eventually comes back just to fight, don't worry about the belts but just fight for the sake of fighting
Usyk just to good end of the day his movement and footwork is the best in the game he fought plenty of guys like aj in the amateurs however aj has never fought a southpaw of usyks calibre
I love the in-depth analysis on how much y’all can tell from how AJ fought. The fact that you can tell or you can assume a lot like their coaching, their mentality, their emotional realm… etc just based on how they fought is actually insane to think about. Y’all the realest 💪🏾
Very good points made in the video. All in all it makes you think how much more AJ could achieve if his mind was in the right place. He has the ability to beat both Usyk and Fury imo
I feel that I agree with Leon with AJ not giving his 100%. You both talked about how he wasn’t really feeling it and was more conservative in the way he approached the fight due to sticking with the gameplan. Hence, AJ holding back in a sense. But I do get what Viddal is saying about AJ giving his all to the game-plan he had been given. Good analysis of how things transpired on that night and always learning something new whether it is to do with boxing or character in real life.
Aj should question himself there's only so much a corner can tell you. Aj performed better in the rematch and done better in certain ways but he still didn't pressure enough or use enough weapons eg leaning etc. Usyk looked beatable I can't lie. I believe AJ messed this one up man.
Good Podcast. One thing I want to add to a point you made about Usyk's cardio and the fact that his punches don't look to be thrown with alot of power is that it has a lot to do with the gloves he is wearing. If Usyk were to wear some padded Winning or Grant gloves he would struggle, Joshua or any Heavyweight would be able to have more success walking him down. Usyk wears horse hair Rival gloves, now these have little to no padding and you can actually feel the knuckle through the glove, with these gloves you don't need to throw the punches with alot of venum, your still going to feel it and it will hurt.
@@insidescuff They are allowed. Horse hair gloves are controversial because of their lack of padding and the damage they can cause so they are not approved by all boxing commissions, in this instance it was fine to use horse hair gloves. The danger for a fighter choosing to use horse hair gloves is that the lack of padding could quite easily lead to them breaking their hand so it can also work against you if you choose to use them. All gloves must be approved by a commission and weigh the specified amount, for the AJ - Usyk fight that was 10 ounces.
Also I knew Usyk would turn it up after that Round 9 - I just didn't realise the dude had THAT much left in the tank, dude came out to make that little hope AJ had in Round 9 just sit the fuck down again.

If it were to go points usyk obviously wins.
I think Fury will smash him, but if he can find away to cope with Fury (who is quicker, far more skilful than Joshua, isn't scared of getting hit and knows how to use his weight effectively AND has more stamina) then Usyk really has to be considered one of, if not the greatest of all time.
People are talking this that and everywhere. They all forget the good great boxers use their opponents size strength power against them. That’s why they are called good great boxers instead of fighters.
What was interesting was how much energy Aj after the final bell, compared to a rather tired looking usyk. It would suggest controlling energy is a issue, not stamina for AJ.
Much love and respect to Usyk for being a hero to his country. AJ went into full Femi mode over the fight, he tried but Usyk was always a step ahead of him. Usyk is an all time great and is up there with Mayweather and Ward. As one of the best fighters that's come out of the past 20 years.
It's insane how you can have all this potential and talent and yet there are things that can occur to block them from occuring. Your mind, approach, heart, overtraining, can stop you from performing to what you are capable of.
Cant lie I have to say, whilst Viddal is saying he didn’t get a chance to feel who he is in the ring. I think it’s all down to AJ’s personality and he doesn’t have the ability to display self expression. Even in his interviews his answers are robotic just like his fighting style. And I’m certain he suffers from a level of social anxiety hence why he’s pretty much always failed under the bright lights/big stage a la Ruiz and it seems like he worries/has a negative mindset, he worries he’ll burn out and worries he’ll get countered. Which comes out in a cautious fighting style. I think he needs a therapist if anything. I watched an interview of Isaac chamberlain on Chisolifts talking about how some boxers perform better when there’s no cameras, and though AJ has gotten to a good destination, something tells me he performs better when there’s no cameras, hence ppl saying he was knocking out sparring partners. I might be going too deep or nitpicking, but everything seems like an anxiety issue more than anything, so all in all he needs to find a way to get out of his mental cage, that’s when you’ll see him loosen up and take chances. I think once I see him get KO’ed I’ll know he really committed to a punch he’s thrown and really being him, caution-less
AJ was too overconfident, and he looked at USYK as Ruiz which is why he lost! And his trainer was not for him at all. Mexican trainers' fight game deals with height and weight, which is small frame and open punching.

And throwing the belts on the ground, storming off only to come back in, taking the Ukrainian flag... I don't know how people didn't just step in and tell him to grow up and take the loss on his chin.
You know DAZN will convince him to be active and fight often against people like Ortiz and Joyce instead of him taking time out and sorting himself out
Watching that fight I knew after the first round he was too structured it's like you guys said he's too scripted going in that fight and through the whole fight. But his team was whack they should of went it wanting to finish the fight before 5 rounds. Like AJ says all the time he ain't a 12 round fighter. Also they calling out ajs winning on decision between rounds was nuts I would of said blurd it's on decision as a draw or a loss do you even want it to go that far? Aj ain't got no tank and they trained him to put pressure on between 6-8th round which is the worst it means even when his punches and combos look good he's still gonna be too heavy carrying himself, that's why Usyk was walking them off. Come on his whole team let him down too. I do think a different team, mindset and plan aj could walk in there and mould Usyk. End of the day Usyk went in, few fighters whos core and stamina is that crazy. His ability to make his opponents fight the way he wants with his footwork and positioning.
Aj just doesn't let his hands go enough for me. He let's usyk stay in his rhythm, let's him reset, doesn't follow up when he lands a shot and let's usyk respond. It's like he doesn't want it .
Just can't believe AJ didn't notice the body shot effective SOONER! Usyk looked a bit shook from those powerful bodyshots- otherwise my guy was LEVELS above the game

Should start making shorts the algorithm would push you’s and you’d get more exposure
