Hi I currently shoot with a canon 5d mark IV and sigma 35mm 1.4. I'm looking at getting the 50mm 1.4 or even sigma 105 macro. What lighting would you recommend to get started with? Thanks.
Thanks bro
Hi Chris, great video thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm looking at starting a product photography business from home. I have limited space but have a DSLR camera, shooting table and a softbox light. I just need to try and make more interesting photos.

What types of questions do you have about product photography? Comment below and I'll make that video!
Hi Chris, I really need some real examples of the business side of product photography. Things like standard contract terms, how do products get to you, do you have to send them back? What if you've needed to use the products in photos? Insurance coverage? Rights to the photos? You get the idea... thanks so much!
Going to fast.
Great Content
Thank you Abbas!
Thank youuu
thanks for watching!
love
Thank you!
This was absolutely perfect!! Question: if I’m trying to create a product photography portfolio to acquire professional work is it appropriate or even legal to use “name brand” products?
I think using real brands is a great idea. I would say to opt for smaller brands than big brands though since that’s more realistic as someone starting out.
Ex) local brewery vs big brewery

New subscriber here! I'm a beginner who is interested in product photography. Would I be able to take great product pictures using a Samsung S23 phone (or any other phone) instead of buying a camera?
Basically what types of lenses are required to pair for my r5 for the food and other products photography? I would really appreciate if you personally share your idea plZ
❤
All I use is a 24-70mm
Can I use the product photograph I take as a portfolio without getting sued. Like if I take a picture of an oculus, soda can, gaming console etc and or edit it can I post it or use it in my portfolios or online
this is not legal advice - but I've always done this with no issues.
Hey Chris what do you use to hold your paper rolls. Is it a C stand or possible a backdrop stand?
It's a custom build! DIY video right here ruclips.net/video/88JL7fqpqVw/видео.html
@@ChrisPieta Thank you headed to homedepot right now!
Hi Chris, I forgot to ask how do you get that first commissioned job, I have contacted local businesses and offered to do some free shots for them and nothing. Any ideas what to do?
It's definitely tough - this is the best resource I have learn.chrispieta.com/free-video-training
Nice Chris! I noticed the different colours of seamless paper you have. Could you get the same result with buying one colour and then changing it in post production to compliment what you are photographing?
Hey Ryan! That is one way of doing it but I’ve found results aren’t as good. The issue is that the color of the paper reflects onto the product. So if you used blue paper and changed it to red, your product might have a blue tint to it! If you used white it might be less noticeable but chances are sometime might still feel off in the image
Still waiting for part 2 👍
Lemme know what you want to see from a part 2 and we'll make it happen
I can do product photography easy. The real problems is clients and make a money of it.
you have to get an agent.
Waiting for the pictures as sample 🙄
Hey mate. What’s your Instagram tag? You have helped me go from Shit to getting there with photography tips “if you remember me” from the comments. And I just want to add you to my comments on Instagram. Simple to say thank you. I have gone from 30 followers to 77 in two weeks (yes I know that’s not much) but it’s a start. Your advice has helped me a lot. Thanks Chris
That makes me so happy to hear Alek. Congrats on the progress, I'm @chrispieta on IG. Cheers!
