I’m self taught in photography started off doing portrait photography not gonna lie I did not enjoy it once I got into product photography I found that I thrive so much at it… the only thing I was missing was a blueprint and how to go about organizing building my portfolio, so this weekend I started organizing and also created Pinterest which I did not know you could post content there as well, now that I have that up in running I need to work on my website. I feel like I’ll be looking to launch in a bout a month only because I’m a perfectionist and I have to make sure there’s no loose ends lol! Thank you so much for all your help! 🙏🏾

I now retired and live in Panama City Panama. I just started a photography business but photoshop is completely new to me.
I decided to go pro in November 2022, so I've been building my Portfolio. I have the same situation where I don't have a lot of equipment so I rely on my editing skills. I'm a Graphic Designer, so it definitely helps to create a great photo. ❤
Hello Stephanie! Thank you for watching our video. I think starting with minimal equipment and mastering the resources you have available makes you a better photographer in the end! When you have the ability to purchase fancy equipment from the start, most neglect learning the important little fundamentals. 😁

this is an incredible video
The editing software costs more than getting lighting equipment 😂 but I agree. I started off editing bad quality pictures and had to rely on my editing to make the pictures nice and that’s given me a huge boost

I'd say maybe 4-6 months. I served at a restaurant while I worked on getting the business up and running. Luckily I had flexible hours and only worked evenings so I was able to dedicate a lot of free time to studying and practicing :)

Analyzing and establishing short term goals is the best way to succeed long term! I like to think of a our business as something that’s always evolving and even still, our goals are constantly cycling between clients-money-and portfolio. I think this would be a great topic to dive deeper to in the near future 😁

how do you find people to contact ? I'd spend all week emailing but I've sent so many dm's and get ignored I'm not sure who to email anymore ! Do you mean big brands or just small ones, small often don't want to pay for photos at all I've found !any tips ?

Hello! I learned everything on my own over the past 2 years. I read a lot of articles, studied other creators and watched countless hours of RUclips videos. This past year I’ve been lucky enough to have my partner to begin working alongside me😊
Are you using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator?
I use a combination of Lightroom and Photoshop to edit images :)

Good video and a lot of nice advice's. I just wish i lived in the states, here in Sweden its soooooo hard to reach the customers and even harder to get paid for the jobs i do, everyone wanna have it for free. Im not in products but portrait and action, on my 10th year now and some good customers is getting in but damn its hard to get a business going good here.

Yes! In the early stages I did not however, I got burned several times and quickly learned the importance of having one in place :)

no professional photographer should be charing $30 a photo. That is criminally low. Maybe if its just a hobby.
Everyone starts somewhere! I believe that your pricing should reflect your skill level, not industry standards. At first, some may consider product photography as a secondary job or even a hobby. Once they are confident in their skills $30 is absolutely too low!
