You guys should probably ask yourself. If Merrifield is stealing third, Kelenic attempting to bunt, and Laureano thinking it was a suicide squeeze. Why are the players doing whatever they want? Snitker has lost the clubhouse.
To me it would be just as bad as snit making the call to do those things. Either way snit was cluelsss
Snitker said he called the steals but not the squeeze. Laureano said he thought the squeeze was on because Kelnic set up to bunt. Kelnic was obviously faking bunt there but said he has to make contact & Laureano didn't know because there wasn't anyone on 1st your trying to advance. Laureano took responsibility after the game for the mistakes. I don't think Snit lost the clubhouse I just think there's a chemistry issue because of all the injuries & theres players that dont know each other that well. I do think Snitker has been to passive about the Braves refusal to play small ball & get runners on 3rd with 1 out or less home. All year they've struggled with leaving runners in scoring position & the Braves response has been "We are a power hitting team & these hitters will come around" like they are just accepting these weaknesses. Recently however they've been bunting more & embracing small ball but they're still failing to get runners on 3rd with 1 out or less home. They had that same opportunity last night in the first inning & failed. I don't know if replacing Snit now will fix anything but if they fall out of the Wild Card or are 1 & out in the playoffs this year they have to consider moving on from Snit. We can't ignore all the injuries & a few players historically bad years either.
tbf Merrifield was absolutely safe i was watching the Mets broadcast and even they were like he's absolutely safe.
@@trippytree3889I actually don't think that matters. A single gets you in from 2nd or from 3rd. The only difference is a sac fly. That advantage is not worth the risk of being thrown out.

The Braves are a bad team. We are 35-40 since April 30th when we started 19-7. I think it's time to blow it up.
Over all I think the Braves are a mediocre team. Pitching has been outstanding but hitting and run production is atrocious! When we lost Ron Washington we lost the best coach in MLB. We have no leadership on the field, in the dugout, in the clubhouse or in the front office. I can’t even watch the Braves on TV for the 1st time in 30 years. I’ve been a fan for over 50 years and I won’t support or root for the Braves anymore until they make changes with management and get a new head coach. So literally I’m not supporting the Braves anymore and I honestly I could care less if I ever see another MLB game in person or on TV. Big business has killed the game!!!
Braves fan for over 60 years. I can't remember feeling this disappointed and disgusted about a Braves team, and they had some historically bad teams in the late Eighties.
The expectations were so high this year.

What makes this year even worse is this pitching staff has been so good, maybe one of the best in baseball but we are just wasting it!

Braves need to sell this year. No, I don't mean sell pieces of the 'core', but they have pieces that could get a solid return. They need to just heal up, reset, get some decent pieces for the farm, and come back stronger in 2025. I don't give a shit about the 'wildcard' spot, this isn't our year and it's painfully obvious. This is no longer a 'small sample size', this season is cursed.
I mean... who are you gonna sell? Duvall? Rosario😂? Fried and his amazing wonky elbow? The entire bullpen? And sell for what. Prospects who will be blocked when everyone is back next year. Gtfo

Havent seen the Braves this bad in about 30 years. Simply horrible.
This is what happens when a team starts to panic. Guys try to do too much. Kelenic needs to swing, Laureno needs to not take off unless it’s a for sure squeeze. Laureano needs to catch that ball though and there is no excuse for that. Please AA save us from continuing this misery.

You can't lose so many top players and expect to win. But AA needs to take a look at where he can get some speed and contact hitting on the team. That is where baseball is heading now

Seems to me there are 2 guys that really want to win with the Braves and the rest are just completely not in the game. Those 2 are Ozuna and Kelenic. Mat Olson is a huge disappointment!!! How does a guy go from the season he had last year to where he is now, it’s mind boggling!!!
I agree with Ozuna and Kelenic but if you don’t think Olson is trying come on man! He’s a series or two away from getting back on track someone with his caliber history isn’t gonna slump forever! I hope he gets locked in! I agree the team seems dead NO energy and I hate that as a Braves fan for my entire life I hope someday they get some fight back in them! It’s seems as of late they look lethargic just like they did against Phillies in postseason it’s sickening!

Braves GAVE AWAY that game & MLB not calling that missed ball an ERROR is suspect. I'm not worried about the Mets being better than the Braves because they aren't. 2024 is not OVER & AA needs to make a deal even if he has to move someone like Max Friend. Max Fried isn't going to sign with the Braves this offseason so you have a choice to try get a few more starts out of him AFTER he comes off the IL or move him & get a few younger pitchers. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to trade a few starts out of Max Fried for a few pitchers I have long term control over. As for this season there's 59 GAMES LEFT & its not Over. As bad as those mistakes were last night I'm actually less impressed by the Mets than I was at the start of the game. Now Philly is a problem & the Braves chances of winning the Division is not good but Adversity can be good for a team & Winning the Division has not guaranteed anything lately in MLB. Many Division Winners have failed in the Postseason recently. If the Braves crash & burn though they do need to consider moving on from Snitker but this is not the Atlanta Hawks we are talking about. One thing that really irks me about that lose is the way Met Sports Media is dishonestly describing it. Sure it's a Win but to havre headlines calling it a "Walk Off Hit" by Jeff McNeil is dishonest. The Braves need to win this series to send a message because they should have Won game 1.
Putting together a few thoughts I have seen from others here… don’t unload the farm for rentals this year. No sense in trying to get pieces that won’t stick around, or are simply fill ins until regulars are back and healthy (either this year or next). So, that leads to this idea: make trades now to get ready for next season. If those trades help to win now, great. If not, Braves have a leg up on everyone else heading into the off season. And here is my favorite trade target: Blue Jays. Trade for Bo Bichette and Chris Bassit. Offer the Jays Elder, Vines, Arcia, and 1 or 2 other low level pitchers. For the Braves that covers shortstop and Fried or Morton leaving at the end of the season.

@@arzdiamondbacks yes Winans was god awful but we haven’t been saying “oh if we don’t throw one of our top 4 we lose.” It has been “man our offense can’t do anything most of the time.” You won’t see Alan Winans in a playoff series.

This team is not focused on their jobs, I think they believed the hype of the best team in baseball and stop working. They have no leadership on this team in the personnel nor management. I doubt this team can rebuild to make the playoffs. Remember this team is playing far below .500after a first month great start!

I've been saying it all year. Snit may be a great person, a nice guy, easy going and easy to get along with, loyal. Pile on the accolades for just how awesome the guy is a person. But I'm sorry, he sucks as a MLB Manager. Braves fans, and more importantly Braves ownership and AA need to realize this and get rid of him. When you aren't playing with some of the best players in baseball, it maybe isn't so obvious. But when having to use your AAA team in MLB games, that's when your true mettle as a manager is tested. And Snit fails.

I was appalled at the stupidity last night. . A suicide squeeze was not a smart tactic. Laureano, Duvall and Rosario should go at some point.. An outfiedl upgrade is a necessity . And a starter would not hurt either. A team cannot win with recyceled retreads.
I think that's the reason for the lack of offense.. he's tooo "loyal" to a fault. What he did to the bullpen last year was criminal. Keeping mortin around isn't a good sign either. It's like they doing what the feel at the plate . Noone has a clue how to have good at bats

You are not convincing me they didn't throw that game. I don't know why they are doing it but there's no way that wasn't intentional. Dumbest play all year to get a Laureano cut down in the top of the 10th. Then Johnson pitches out of it, all he has to do is pitch around McNeil with 2 out and he throws him a meatball, he somehow DOESN'T hit it out of the park and Laureano overruns the fly ball and lets it bounce off his glove. All they have to do is make ONE smart play there out of those 3 and they go to the 11th. Make 2 and they win the game.
