I don't know in what form we are supposed to ask questions. But my name is Alphonso A. from Charlotte, NC. And my question is: From the chest UP, what exactly should every part of the body involved with singing be doing? And what should proper singing feel like? (ie. should i feel my muscles working or should it feel effortless? Should I be focusing on things or should it feel natural?)
Yes. Yes! He should make an album. Agree? Have you heard Justin's range and how different he can make his voice sound. You got see this. Amazing: ruclips.net/video/tnSSp3R9Wd8v/видео.htmle
I have got a question regarding "metal vocals" such as Growl and Scream. Is it dangerous to do them? Will it harm my voice? Is there a good way to learn safely these vocal styles? P.s.: Thank you very much for your videos, they're great!
It is not dangerous at all to do them if you do them properly. I suggest you get with a vocal teacher as if you don't know what you are doing, you may harm your voice.
You can use Vocal Fry for metal vocals, if you compress the vocal fry with your diaphragm and let tiny little spaces of air through your vocal chords. And also you need to shape your mouth, if you open your mouth wide you can do the fry scream and fry growl if you shape your mouth in an O.
I was asked to repost a suggestin on this video specifically for Justin, but it's the same yt account so you'll just see it again in your feed, but here goes: Hi, can you do a video that plays one after another separately in succession lots of people singing the same middle C or E note, or whichever note everyone can sing. It would be amazingly useful to hear the timbre differences between people, and even everyone's morning voice compared to their warmed up voice.
Hi Thriving! This is a very cool idea. We don't do studies like that on our channel, but it would be very interesting to see! If you ever conduct this research let us know! :) -NYVC
Hi Jessica! It depends on why you're experiencing the huskiness. We suggest writing to our VLTTW Team and sharing more about your situation. Our team can suggest some episodes for you to see if the episodes will help you to figure out what the issue might be! -NYVC
Neither nor, he is singing in the mixed voice. But it sounds rather chesty because, being he a light tenor, his passaggio occurs in a higher range than in other male voices
I've heard vocal fry can help you finding your head voice and mixed voice. Is that true? Would you mind making a video on this (or on how to find head voice in general) please :-)
What is the name of the vocal style when a voice somewhat "cracks" at the beginning and of the word. An example is ramin karmiloo when he sang in the phantom of the opera. I'm curious the technique which he is using. Thanks!
I have a question, Im a bass singer I've tried but I cant help it. This is truly a course, not the baritone one cause almost nobody sings bass songs. If you can't make a video for this can you please answer?
Wow i didnt think this had a term..LOL i always seem to do this.. I thought maybe i was just being lazy or sound "sad" but i guess this was just a stylistic thing..
It's more like a twisting up of vocal cord compression than falloff of pitch, isn't it? I feel the vocal muscle coordination for this is different from that for the vocal fry at low pitch.
Very adorable. And talented. Have you heard Justin's range and how different he can make his voice sound. You got see this. Amazing: ruclips.net/video/tnSSp3R9Wd8v/видео.htmle

@@NewYorkVocalCoaching ok I'll do it 👍🏼👍🏼 thank you for the response 😊
do i use this lesson if i want to sing like an artist such as Adam Gontier?
Hello,
I want to ask if we are actually supposed to hear that vocal fry sound on the last note during the exercise? Thanks!
When you are singing Gravity, are you using your chest or head voice?
Neither nor, he is singing in the mixed voice. But it sounds rather chesty because, being he a light tenor, his passaggio occurs in a higher range than in other male voices

Great suggestion for the future Nis! - NYVC

If we understand your question, then sure! Explore the different options and vocal qualities you can create! :) -NYVC
"It's tougher than it looks." Not for me because I'm just imitating what I hear. heh heh
Good work! :) -NYVC

It is falling off the pitch. It will probably feel different since you are going lower. -NYVC
Hi Justin,
