Tamils or Thamizhar/Thamilar speak Tamil language. She is correct. "Thamizhan" is the masculine word "Thamizhacchi" is the feminine word in Tamil. "Tamilar" is the gender neutral word in Tamil for a person who speaks Tamil. In English, the Tamil language speaker is called Tamils only.

Both are acceptable. It’s Kannad in the devnagari language that’s why many North Indians say it as Kannad. You can find it even in devnagari literature / written text or even in Hindi news channels. If a vast majority of North Indians say it Kannad, try to reason and research like an intellectual person.
As much as Kannadigas love their literature , North Indians love their literature too. Let’s just stick to that.

North Karnataka folks pronounce it as Kannad for example, "Kannad Saali" means kannada school. So there is nothing wrong in it nor is it offensive. The dialect in North Karnataka is quite different from that of South Karnataka.

Rajasthanis from *different* parts of Rajasthan rarely speak in a Rajasthani dialect.
Because the dialects are usually quite different within Rajasthan itself.
Marwadi has 12 sub-dialects. Then there's Mewadi, Hadauti etc..
So they speak Hindi instead.
