I read in the comments that some people said they did this whole job in 45 minutes! Yeah right 45 minutes my black ass!! But you're great thanks for the video!!!
This helped me so much. Thank you. Those plastic pieces for the handles kicked my butt. They would fall out of place whenever I tried to install them so I super glued them and presto. Very helpful and you're right about the salvage yard. Under $100 plus money back warranty if it doesn't fit or work. Thanks again
i wish you lived in michigan. i need help replacing my sun roof i don’t know if i can do this by myself. but your video is super helpful. i have a 2012 lincoln mkz
I'm about to have to do this job in a Fusion which is essentially the same car. But I'm ordering a new glass to go into the existing frame, as my seal is leaking. How difficult would you say it is to remove the glass from the assembly?
I used my sunroof maybe 10x in 12 years and it won't close all the way by itself, further proof what a waste of money and a bullshit piece. Not surprised you have to remove everything but the seats to do this.
No you don't. If you can pop open the glass there will be either 2 or3 small screws that hold the glass on both sides to the unit. Then just remove the glass out of the opening
@@timothybruen926 does the motor have a manual release or open. I want to go to a junk yard and remove just the grass portion but usually junkyard cars don’t have power to them.
Does anyone know if you can just replace the liner? I have a 2011 Lincoln MKZ with a panoramic sunroof and the liner wants to get all bunched up when I open it.
That is a separate piece to the sunroof. It could be just off the track. Look at where it bunches up along the opening and you might find your problem. Casey of Auto Trim
@@timothybruen926 the liner is completely off the track, well either off or torn on both sides but still connected on the front track. I don’t know how to be able to see which one it is since I can’t really open it. Thanks in advance!!
The shade that you call a liner works like a house shade. You have 2 options, either cut out the whole shade from the car or remove the entire headliner to get to your problem and install a new or used one from a junk yard
This video was a life saver. My sunroof track cracked thanks to cold temps and this video made it an easy job to swap out in less than 45min.
Thank you for the video, very helpful when removing and replacing the sunroof assembly on my son's 2008 Mercury Milan.

Thank you very much at first I was lil overwhelmed but after this video made it way easier than I was making it out to be

Thank you sir!....
How do you align the spacer blocks behind the handles, mine kept slipping out of the correct position

If I were to replace the glass panel solely, would I have to remove everything entirely just as the video shows?

@@timothybruen926 excellent! I appreciate the quick response Tim

No, you will only need to remove the glass. There should be 4-6 screws on the sides to remove and lift glass up through the opening

Alot of work
He hands the sunroof assembly into the car upside down then cuts to it already installed. I think he needs a nap now.
lol that headliner he just folds it in half takes 10 min to take out the center console
