Does the towel stop getting black after the single cleaning because that black is more likely rubber. Sure there was dirt but the dark black could be part of the gasket washing away buy by bit. I know why make a gasket conditioner but I don't re all what it is also if your roof has been working fine as you have been cleaning it don't change I may lubricate in the spring and fall ad that track where you sprayed bears alot of weight . A lubricant that's safe for rubber and plastic which would be silicone as it repells dust
Hey man, I opened my panoramic roof with a sweatshirt on it and it got caught in the track. It opens up with no noise but closes a little bit with some skidding. Is it bent or do you think I just need to little bit because it’s never been lubed before?
@@321verykind hey man, I put some lithium grease on and it doesn’t make any sound anymore. Do you think it just got caught off track or it’s bent but working now?
@@accoustix2832 I'm going to demonstrate on another video. On my other vehicles I just use a small metal wire to clean the drain. I believe I saw a video online.
I use a rag to gently clean out any left over grease from the track, and apply new grease. I usually use a popsicles stick to spread the grease. You can buy a caulking gun for it as well in Home Depot.
I don't need to clean the sun roof on my car since it exploded and shattered around all 4 sides as we were driving. Ford garages I called said I had to pay for it. My car is a 2018 with 35,000 miles.
@@321verykind Did you ever make that video? Having issues with mine. The dealership was supposed to "clean" the drains out, but it just rained again and my driver side floor is wet and the car is starting to smell musty. I'm LIVID - I just bought this 2017 MKZ Reserve. :(

Thanks for input. No, after 2 wipes it comes back clean. Interesting, I will keep silicone lubricant in mind. I’ve never used it before

Hi, Not sure. It seems like something got bent inside. Try to put some silicone lubricant and see if that helps.

silicone spray for seals and white lithum grease for moving parts.

Yes its in the front of the sunroof when its open
