    Been running 2 for 6 days straight here in Texas after Hurricane Beryl came through. Still running on them as I type. The 2000 is probably 23+ years old that I have no idea on the hours. The 22 hundo has 1100 hours. Really saving our asses down here at the moment.

    100 hour oil. Waste of oil. 6000 hours on each of 3 EU2000 units.
    Changed about monthly.they run 24/7.
    Awesome

      Don’t use mine much just here there for camping mostly. 6000 hours is very impressive.

    I’ve had several generators over the years, my Honda has been by far the best and quietest

      I love the quietness and how efficient it is. We also have a PTO genset that can run the whole farm if need be. Thanks for wathing!

    Those Honda generators are probably the best...expensive but the best. I have a Hyundai in case we have power outages and I regret not getting a Honda 🤷🏼‍♂️. Have a great weekend 🙂🙋🏼‍♂️👍🏻

      It goes great during outages to keep things like the fridge going at minimal costs. The North Star pto generator can get all the power we could want if needed. It was quite an investment but it sure is reliable efficient and quiet. Thanks for watching Luc!

    Great video. I have the Berg extended run fuel tank too. I may replace the tank with a smaller 3 gallon unit. I find the larger 6 gallon tank size to be a hassle to manage.

      Nothing wrong with having one of each! I have two boats so have 4 tanks total, nice to have the fuel on hand if needed

    I got the "Champion" inverter 2000 which is really only 1700 running 2000 burst. But it was on clearance for $200! So i couldnt pass it up. Not a honda but does a good job and is pretty quiet too. I need to do that boat tank mod you got going on! Thats awesome

      What a steal! I caught a deal like that at lowes, got a generac 3300 for 99 dollars. has 12 hours on it, looked like someone bought it then their power came back on and returned it. it worked great from there. The extended tank really is great, its like its not even there with how quiet these are! Thanks for watching. Were just getting back in from a trip south!

    Great mods! 48 hours run time would be amazing. Depending on how hard we're running the A/C, our Honda 3000 runs around 8 hours on our 5th wheel when dry camping. They're absolutely great generators. I too only use the Honda motor oil. It costs a little more, but I'll stick with what they recommend when their products are so good. Nice video. #purplecollarlife

      The dollar or so extra is a minimal cost for the peace of mind. The 3000 is a Cadillac, that’s really what ya need for the 5th wheel. This one will start and run our 15.5k roof top unit but it’s about all it’s got. But is excellent during a power outage. We actually have it running now in Pennsylvania. I wish I had that electric start but I’m going to rig up a pull cord extension to be able to start the generator from the living space in the toy hauler. Thanks for watching Chad!

    I have a Generac brand generator about that size, they are so easy on gas. Actually the internals look exactly the same, I wonder if they are the same generator just named differently?

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 года назад +2

      I really wouldn’t be surprised. This new model also has Bluetooth to shut it off from the phone and I’ve been thinking about rigging up a pull cord extension to start it up from the living space of the camper. It’s actually fired up right now here in Pennsylvania! With the A/c and fridge running it burned 2.6 gallons over 24 hours. Thanks for watching Ben!

    Great video. Is there a way to just modify my existing external boat tank to the generator?

      Sure, there’s caps you can buy right on Amazon then just connect the fuel line, I really like the quick disconnects

    Good evening Sir, Honda make OUTSTANDING generators 👍😊 I'm changing oil on every 24 hrs on my honda generator ( 6500 GFCI ) I'm super crazy about my generator 😊🤣👍 I'have many video's for welding ( my former house deck )Great video Sir Cheers 🍻😊

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 года назад +1

      I use the PTO generator for welding, When this one runs it runs constant and low speed. That is very pro active about maintenance. its great to see you take care of things!

    The extended fuel mod hasn’t worked for me for some reason. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Noticed you dont have a prime bulb either. Ive tried a fuel line with and without one. Still not working. Just switched to a micro fuel line and it worked only for a second. Any ideas?

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  2 года назад

      Are you making sure the generator tank is filled 100 percent before connecting the external tank? The I tank of the engine created the slightest vacuum to pull fuel in

    • @C03-h9y
      @C03-h9y 2 года назад

      @@HillsideAcres Actually I wasn’t. I will try that. I was initially using a 3/8 inner diameter fuel line and thought that was too large. Im now using a fuel line with a 1/8 inner diameter. Too small you think? Thanks!

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  2 года назад +1

      Either should be fine, these Hondas use so little fuel but you need to start with a full internal tank to get a vacuum going and it will keep the internal tank full

    • @darylhawkins4658
      @darylhawkins4658 Год назад

      Back off on the tank’s cap a turn or two so it can vent. The generator might be trying to pull fuel against a vacuum in the fuel tank.

    • @frankpaglianite4158

      Also use a primer bulb on the fuel line as in a outboard motor application

    how hard is ditto shut generator down and put more gas in it every 8 hours? it would be good for gen to cool down for a few minutes

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  Год назад +1

      Gen has an oil gear box, you don’t have to shut down, you just put diesel in it

    Can someone please help me?
    What are the dimensions of the oil screw and the thread of the tank on your Hondas?
    None of the suppliers specify the dimensions of the threads of the oil screw and especially the tank cap.
    I have a Zipper ZI-STE2000IV, this is supposed to be a clone of the Honda EU2000i.
    And I want to know if this set also fits on my generator.
    The thread of the oil screw has an outside diameter of 17.24mm, 0.68",
    the thread of the tank has an outside diameter of 45.9mm, 1.81".
    the gas cap is 43.3 mm, 1.705" inside.
    On the new EU2200i, the thread of the oil screw has been significantly enlarged. So be careful which set you buy.
