  • The adductors are the muscles located on the inner thigh, crucial for movements like squatting, lunging, and stabilizing the pelvis. Tight or strained adductor muscles can manifest in various ways. Here are some common signs that your adductor muscles might need some stretching:
➡️ Reduced Range of Motion: Difficulty in performing movements that require spreading the legs apart or bringing them together, such as doing squats, lunges, or certain yoga poses, can be a sign of tight adductors.
➡️ Pain or Discomfort During Activity: Experiencing pain or discomfort in the inner thigh or groin area during physical activities, especially those involving leg movements like running, jumping, or even walking, can be indicative of a need to stretch the adductors.
➡️ Groin Strain: If you’ve recently experienced a groin strain, this could be due to tight adductor muscles. A strain typically occurs when the muscles are overextended beyond their capacity, often due to lack of flexibility.
➡️ Knee Pain: Sometimes, tight adductor muscles can contribute to knee pain. This is because tight muscles can alter the alignment and movement of the leg, leading to stress on the knee joint.
➡️ Lower Back Pain: Tight adductors can sometimes affect the alignment of the pelvis, which in turn can lead to lower back pain.
In this video, our registered Massage Therapist, Allana Khoury, shares how to effectively stretch the adductor muscles. 🧘‍♂️
