- Creating a website like Peter Mckinnon is simple with Adobe Portfolio. Adobe Portfolio comes with Adobe Creative Cloud and the Photography Plan. It is a "free" alternative to using sites like Squarespace. Creating a splash page with just a description and icon links can take as much as an hour!

Just a few tips from a designer's perspective:
1. Don't use title case on paragraph text.
2. Put some breathing space between the elements.
3. If you are going to center-align content (for short pieces of information) be consistent. The eye of the viewer is scanning down the middle yet you've split your main CTAs so far to the left and right!?
4. Regarding the CTAs, align them to the center and stack underneath the text with the social media at the bottom. Choose a colour scheme for the links that are going to give better contrast and do what they are intended to do, which is attract the viewer to click on them (right now they are almost camouflaged into the image/background).

Depends on what kind of website you’re doing. If you’re doing a splash landing page like this one. 16:9 ratio with over 4K pixels wide and 2500 is ideal.

I just started using porfolio and cant find out how to edit footers. Can you do that on portfolio or no?btw great vid learned alot
TheFeared34 make sure footer is turned on of course.... to edit it, hover over it and on the top left corner of that panel/container should be a little pencil, that’s how you edit the footer.
ahowarda how to add portrait photos to showcase to the clients
Nice job explaining this to a beginner with no knowledge at all. Have a GoDaddy account, and would like to know how I can link the site I create in Adobe Portfolio (but I guess I can call and ask GoDaddy Tech Support to find out how to do this). Many other videos for Adobe Portfolio assume we use Lightroom or Behance (I use neither, although have a Creative Cloud account). I like to build things from scratch using my own content from files on my MacBook Pro. Anyway, this is a good intro!

How can you switch from gallery layout to splash?
Ideally what you should do is create a new page, add "Welcome Page", and link whatever you want to be seen next from that welcome page. Also make that Welcome Page your home page so when people visit your site they will go directly to that welcome page.

No cost of having to use a subscription to another site host. If you’re using adobe creative cloud, it comes with your subscription.
