I talked to Brian at Mad River today and he was saying they don’t have that line and a five way it starts at six wait was he using six weight on the five weight pole and how did it do?I have the five in the seven now I love the axiom ll X i’ve been using the essay redfish line on both polls I just need a line that will be a little better and Brian recommended the flip pallet line so I was a little concerned that I couldn’t get it in an actual five Wt. thank you so much for getting back with me earlier I really do appreciate it flip Paul is definitely a hero of mine
@@bikesandfish8721 well, I've got it in a 5 weight, so I'm surprised they are not making it. In fact, have a few of them. I personally wouldn't overline it since most of the lines are already heavier than the regulation rating. The rod likes a stiffer core and long taper, so an SA Bonefish 5 wt should work well too.
I hope to break it in right. I know very little about fly fishing. Hoping the 6 wt would be small enough to work schooler trout but large enough for slot reds. Before our world changed, my wife and I were supposed to be in Blue Ridge, Ga. today for vacation. I was planning a little fishing up there.
Just ordered this along with the 8. The five will be fun on spike specks, and when the Spanish are on glass minnows. Have loved the BVK's for years.
Video should be titled, “just reeling in a redfish”
Legend.
what line are you using on the axiom ll X 5 wt
The Cortland Flip line. It cast great amd loads the rod well.

@@johntarr9292 thank you
Was that the TFO Axiom II X rod?
Yes sir it was. The 5-weight version.
John Tarr, I just ordered that rod in a 6 wt today. Should be knee deep by Friday. Thank you.
You'll love it! I've got the 5-8 weight. So far, all of my clients have liked them too.

What 5wt fly line was he using? Its so difficult to find a manufacturer that makes saltwater 5wt wf fly line.
Very disappointing. You didn't show the cast, the hook set or the fly.
Kinda busy poling the skiff and setting up the cast to worry about filming during a critical part.
