    I thought they were essentially specialised vacuum tubes? i.e. filled with vacuum, so the electrons could actually get to the phosphor layer. So you are actually re-pressurising it.

    It's a shame that we are witnessing the disappearance of such technology for the foreseeable future.
    I hope one day someone will make new CRTs, the smaller ones, because even OLED tech doesn't quite look like CRTs.
    They both are a piece of history and have a peculiar way to show images (the CRTs monitors more than the TVs), like if you looked through a clear window.

    When does the 2024 wasp season start? I like watching imaginative ways of depressurising those devices
