I don't think that's accurate. Correct me if I'm wrong, but she didn't abandon him. She left him there to go back for his mother but didn't find her & when she returned to the tree Nightcrawler was also gone. That's not abandonment, it's placing him in a safe spot so she can go clapped those villagers cheeks!

Except that Azazel being the father wasn't hinted, it was blatantly stated by both him and mystique and was part of a larger storyline. Did the writers of this garbage just forget or did they just not care so long as they could create their separate woke storyline? And now mystique cares despite being all about herself before that? 🙄😒

What’s funny about people saying it’s bad writing or it’s just there to be virtue signaling is….this is the actual original origin for nightcrawler origins. They wanted to do this originally with nightcrawler but marvel editorial didn’t want them to be that progressive (ironic given the franchise gimmick is it’s suppose to push social norms) so they came up with a false origin for nightcrawler to appease the editorial.
