Tbh I was totally ok with that, as much as the irony of the character that looks like a demon being a Christian is fun and all, having that be such a big part of him in some versions detracted from his potential as a much more fun swashbuckling type goofball hero, I'd rather him be more like Marvels version of beast boy with his comedic yet loyal and caring personality. The movie adaptions of him have for example all been really cool but the X2 scene of him cutting himself and praying in a church wasn't necessary, and also was an inconsistency as he has blue fur not just blue skin.
Night crawler was voiced by the same guy as Light Yagami, Scott's VA was miroku from the anime Inuyasha, Logan's VA was koga (from the same anime) and quicksilver's VA was the main character of the anime, and Scott's brother's VA also voiced a character in that series too.
Nightcrawler and Kid-Devil as a tag team bros would be very nice given one is conservative, while the other is a notorious womanizer. Both are equally amazing.

You have to understand the context. On the surface it may appear selfish, but remember that Kurt's demon-like appearance robbed him of his childhood. He dreamed of looking like everyone else so he could have friends to hang out with. His image inducer allowed him to have everything he wanted and you can only imagine how hard it is for him to give that up and face persecution.
