- The Wrangler gets some changes for 2024 from Jeep. On the outside you will discover the all new grill, WARN winch and frame sliders. On the inside you will be greeted by an all new 10.25in infotainment screen and power front seats. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 hyrbrid setup. Is the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe BETTER than a Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro?

Always a great day when Joe posts!
I appreciate all you, Lori and Stephen do.
That’s so awesome of you to say! Thanks for being so supportive
Love how the exterior still stay the same besides a few different touches on the grill. Jeep is my one of my favorite car brands out there the Grand Cherokee is my favorite Jeep still to this day.
This amazing and I'd say my favorite part is the new touch screen radio in it. Now for everything else I really like.
dude I have no idea about the cars you review but you are hilarious. Please continue.
From a former 4Xe owner, when going “On Throttle” in a 4XE, leave it in 4Auto . The drivetrain cuts power in 2High to not overload the rear!!
whats the average miles you get before you got to plug it in the wall?
@@ugabuga1361 you get about 30 miles on full electric, but will always run as a regular hybrid as long as you have fuel
I’m actually not all that familiar with 4auto. In my Gladiator Rubicon, I can only manually shift into 4hi and 4lo. Ain’t good to be in 4hi on pavement unless there is plenty of snow on the ground. So is 4auto a lot different?
$76,000 for a Jeep lmao. They’ve lost their mind
Agreed, but dumbies will get suckered by huge dealer incentives and cave in..........
Fr, but they already lost their minds years ago.
It’s worth it
"bUt iT's eLeCtRiC aNd eLeCtRiC iS ThE FuTuRe"
lmao
So true, hell the used ones with 90000 miles they’re wanting high $20’s for…. No thanks!
I was going for the 2023 Rubicon 4xe but Joes review on the Jeep Gladiator, got me hooked. So got a 2023 Willys Jeep Gladiator and I love it. Nice refresh on this 4xe. The display is crazy. Grest video.
Love my Rubicon as well. I don’t ever want to go full EV. Sure hope the Gladiators end up being a plug in hybrid like this in the future.
Nice too see you again Joe
I appreciate you saying that!
Raiti Bro - Seriously You 're Really
THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS 👏 😊🏆 👏
Love the review. Fun and humorous
I own a 2012 wrangler. Love these vehicles but they have become expensive. Still would like to upgrade. Thumbs up for another great video
We got the 4xe Wrangler love the Ride in the City with one sky touch is a great option! It’s really nice they added the remote control seats 23:23
I love it Joe nice review
I tried to buy a 392 the other day. Sticker 89,000$
Sorry sir price is 115,000$ with addendum.
It's so good Joe can't wait for " On Throttle "
The only thing missing are the Florida gators 😂
Love the color, it is similar to the color of a family member’s 2023 Chevy Colorado ZR2 that they just got a few weeks ago, but if I would get a new wrangler I kinda like the sliver zynith color and probably would get that.
A good backing song to a scene where a recommended trail gets someone stuck would be the theme to Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm".
Joe and Lori and Steve and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍 💯💯💯💯
thnxs joe 4 great vid. 1 comment. i would not say slightly updated. it is pretty much greatly updated for restyling (refresh) actually. it is actually almost equivalent of of redesign i would say.
Love your content mehn...watching from Nairobi, Kenya. Say hi to Lori and Stephen they do an amazing job👏👏
Beautiful color love it
I have no doubt this Jeep (this engine option particularly )is very off road capable but I see it more oriented to the people who just want a Jeep and is not necessarily an off road enthusiast.
I love the amount of people I see driving Rubicons for no fkn reason. I mean power to them, but if you're not off roading your Rubicon then you're wasting your money.
People who do rock crawling or offloading are loving the electric engine for that. Easy to see why.
100%
@@NooDLES411911 This is why Jeep as put 33'' tires on the Rubicon X 4xe instead of the 35''. What a mistake! If you're going to pay extra to have a Rubicon X with the 4xe option please give me the 35'' tires!!!! Leave the 33'' to the regular Rubicon!
Isn't that what the Jeep brand has turned into?
Nice. 12 hours charging so I must buy 2 and switched on lunch time for charging 😂. Joe nice review like always 👍
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
Thank you Joe.. great rubicon
Incredible color combination and package.
Omg. Your best vid ever!!
Can the Adventures Guide be found on every Rubicon or cause some dont the Nav system.
Thanks
I test drove a 23 4xe and the steering wheel felt loose like it had a lot of play. I also test drove a 24 Sahara gas and the steering was pretty tight. There were no 24 4xe’s to drive. I just wanted to know before I order a 24.
No electric and 5 spd transmission sounds like BIG selling points to me. I have a JK Unlimited Sport with the V6, and I love it. I'd give this a try because I trust Jeep to put together a winner. I just prefer basic, user-friendly, easy to maintain vehicles. That's why we bought a 2023 Toyota GR86 Premium with a 6-speed manual. I'll go kicking and screaming into electrification and still always keep a gasoline powered vehicle. In Florida, with the hurricanes, we need gas. I don't want to be dependent on the grid to move.
Same. EVs are cool and all, but they will never replace ICE vehicles. Never. Unfortunately for us gas loving folk, the powers that be WILL legislate the banning of ICE, and shove EVs down our throats. I drive a '13 e92 M3 in 6spd, and an '06 B7 S4. You got me fucked up thinking that I'll EVER give up these beasts for an EV that is weather sensitive, and takes hours to get a full charge when I can just spend 5 min filling up to full.
Aloha Joe. This is a great video footage of the Jeep 4xe Rubicon. I'd consider getting this tough midsize SUV over the Toyota Forerunner. Yet, this is very expensive. However, this has better fuel economy than the Toyota Forerunner.
$76000 for Jeep? No thanks. In that amount, I can get something very nicer than this! Great review Joe as always!
What else are you going to get for off roading that’s electric? Certainly not a Cybertruck. Rivian? I’d much rather go Jeep. It’s always been king off road.
I can finally say these 2024 vehicles have all the areas checked and caught up with in style and tech, was so tired of looking at these new nice cars, still having awful 3 yr old tech or odometer was cheap, or the laptop looking dash almost in the middle of the windshield LOL. More confidence in buying a vehicle when everything is appealing
Thanks for sharing your feelings on this one.
Been seeing more and more of these on the road lately
Tell me about it
75k for these is over priced everything is getting overpriced not worth it
Toyota isn't as reliable as 10-15 years ago, but No way would purchase a Jeep vehicle even with huge dealer incentives.......
That is one good looking Jeep + much better gas milage. Get the extended warranty though. Great review Joe - as usual 🏁🏁🏁
You must think extended warranty is cheap? Stay far away from Jeep vehicles........
Believe me I DO 👍@@crow_2k11beatsbydre8
I don't trust Jeeps hybrids
Good review...
Now my perfect Jeep!
Nice review as always Joe. Ive been looking at one of these to add to my driveway. Price is insane, deserves a super Zonk. Probably better off getting standard Rubicon. Color Reminds me a little of 4Runner voodoo blue. I have a voodoo blue TRD PRO 4Runner, that’s not going anywhere. Best car I’ve owned. Your review of the 19 PRO was a classic. Your “Hey, it’s a TRD. Let’s get the hell out of here”. Classic quote.
😊😊😊
Hey Joe I watch all your videos and always give you a I like I proposed a video with a Hellcat that has a 69 Charger body carbon fiber and from what I gather you're not interested in making that video when doing a lot of restomods like I said if it's something that you don't want to do that's fine but I think it's something that you do special vehicles restomods 1965 Corvette you did the other day the 2018 demon as I said this is coming from a loyal loyal subscriber
Joe you got THE best jokes 😂
Joe - thoughts on this Rubicon vs the High Altitude trim?? this MSRP is ridiculous though
Nice color 💙💙🔥
You missed opportunity to showcase the Power Box located within the charger bag in the rear.
I literally have a deposit on both this and the 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch package. And this is an EXTREMELY tough decision. Both are being built right now. The Jeep dealer I'm working with out of town has been exceptional, while the dealer local to me has be so-so. I honestly did NOT think the Bronco would get built because they just announced the 2024 Broncos and I had put my 2023 order in mid-July.
The biggest decision maker between the two is: Jeep has warn winch, sky one touch, better gas mileage (when used in collaboration with the electric mode), has a better instrument cluster, and I can get a federal tax credit. The Bronco has better HP and torque (if I was only using the 2.0L Turbo engine in the 4xe), better seats, much larger infotainment screen, full bash plates underneath the body, 35's with Sas package / beadlock wheels, 360 degree bird-eye view.
I struggle mostly because I feel like I could get the Bronco first, and then once it's paid off, get a Jeep next. I've had a Jeep in the past and it's a great vehicle, but I'd love to try something new. I am definitely between a rock and a hard place on this one.
Just what I want is an 80 grand piece of junk full of Italian electronics
Nice job
Beautiful Jeep bestie!
The Jeep 1 Touch is amazing!!! 😁😁😁😍
Would you say the Wrangler feels nimble? The way the hood is shaped makes me love the feel, like I can steer it through tight situations without problems.
No not at all it’s shaped like a box and is one of the most unaerodynamic vehicles money can buy
No not really. It's super capable offroad but terrible onroad. I test drove a Wrangler Rubicon once and on the highway the solid front axle makes the vehicle wander a lot. Maybe on 2-3 hour trip I can tolerate, but longer 10+ hour trip I don't think I can drive this thing. It's everything you expect out of a purpose-built vehicle. I think the Bronco or the 4Runner gives better on-road handling while having 90% of the Wrangler's capability.
On-road wandering aside... Yes, it is nimble. It's easy to maneuver in tight spaces, and it has a great turning radius.
Hey does anyone have an opinion on the 2 door vs 4 door debate trying to decide which one to get in a Rubicon
Love the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 😍💯🙌
Love my 2021 Wrangler 4Xe. Its not a Rubicon though. My wife and I got the Sahara High Altitude.
Joe that infotainment is a Google Automotive OS, my Silverado has that side panel instead of showing the entire screen for backup camera and Apple CarPlay. It’s kinda of annoying.
Great looking Jeep...pricing is high in my eyes....very expensive for a Jeep. The Willy version was $66K out the door. Dealers are pushing the lease options so they have inventory in a couple years.
I can understand how you feel about the price.
Raiti putting the dealer installed trail pin striping
Sorry if this a dumb question. But why buy a 90k car to take off road? Wont that mess up the paint? I never off road before
Shame the next generation 4Runner is getting a 4 banger too but this wrangler is the best of all worlds I guess. Got a peppy engine. Plenty of power and torque and better fuel economy
I wanted one so badly! Just couldnt justify the price.
The color is off da chain but joe how many hrs u gotta charge the 🔋
He said it in the video…
2 hours on 240v 32amp to go from nearly empty to full.
it's absolutely fantastic. the only 2 things are really heartbreaking: those two things are: 1. no 360-cam. and 2. horrible second row seats. especially the back of the seat of the second row absolutely horrible. I mean specifically the recline position of the back of the seat just 6-inches more recline would make those seats absolutely normal for just 15cm would make it totally different story.
Antenna built-in to the windshield that's a classic feature. Mi 1977 Oldsmobile has the Antenna built-in to the windshield, they wr doing that 40+ years ago too...
You are so very correct!
Rubicon 🙅♂️. Love the blue…….the price is ridiculous 🤣
So many soccer moms driving a Rubicon who will never take it off road. You don't need a Rubicon if you're taking it to Costco and your kids to soccer. Why do they need locking differentials? They don't.
@@NooDLES411911 or swaybar disconnect.
Yeah that's silly I see them all the time in these they think they are status symbols @@NooDLES411911
Why don’t they put those gyros that connect to the tires, which keep charging the battery, like on the old bicycles headlamps?
That is an interesting idea. I guess they would get ripped off when you are off roading!
I priced one of these out with the sky roof. It was like 65k
4runner is great car (however no-diesel option for 4runner is a very bad side) but i really don't see 4runner as a wrangler direct competitor. bronco is direct competitor. G-class can be competitor. or tlc-70-series can be as well. and may be partially nissan super-safari-y61 can be some how. also fj-cruiser can be as well. mahindra-thar can be. Troller tx4 can be as well. may be deffender can be as well.
How about the new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser?
Go to the Bay Area and you’ll see more of these than any other place on the planet 😂. Lots of shopping malls and Starbucks here have pot holes that need the solid font axle and front locker.
cool, looks like every wrangler for the past 20 years.
I like the 4xe a lot, for about 55k tops. Which is exactly what consumers will be able to buy them for, this time next year, new, on the lot, after a 20k markdown. Jeep is screwed.
i hope so
Can’t flat tow EVs. So if you run out of juice on a trail and have to pull it out, you have made your Jeep a boat anchor.
@@GratefulDawg760 its a hybrid can still run on gas without the juice
@@thisismyemailjy still not interested
Electric vehicles, you can't give them away .... and they don't ..$80k .. when it needs new Energizers, I bet you have to sale the Rabbits Drum to pay for them.... Copper Tops will not be any cheaper
Can this top come off? I thought a 1 touch top can’t come off? If it can come off that is awesome
Apples to Oranges
76k??😂
Very good car ❤
I saw one of these being towed off the valet drive in front of the Pendry San Diego 2 months ago. Apparently the Jeep went into limp mode out of nowhere.
And I saw a Tacoma on the side of the road yesterday on FIRE. What's your point?
@@mowcowbelluh oh don’t say that Toyota boys gonna be mad 😂
you should hear about the horror stories of EVs pissing the bed because it's too cold, or losing battery quickly because it's too hot. Yet you still have the idiots bending a knee to the "EV is the future" elites. A bunch of damn sheep, the lot of them.
I had a friend in high school who had a jeep with a winch who got people unstuck on Sand Key which is in Joe's area. Hotels and condos there now. He probably made the payments on his Jeep doing that. There is no substitute for a Jeep.
So heavy with a turbo charger and 2 batteries? Lots of things to break. How fast does it go in ev? Sounds like being quiet for the animals off road while crawling is the only time you can go full ev.
$76,000!!!!!!!??????? C’MONNNNN MAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!!
Is there a way to update to ucconnect 5 from 4
I think you may have put some pin stripes on that Jeep while off roading.
Has anyone heard of the Jeep Recon rumor?
$76K, too many skittles and twinkies for me Raiti.
One thing that bothers me with the 4xe is you lose at least 6” when the back seats are down because of the battery.
Life is all about compromising.
Numbers do sound good Yeah, but 76,000$ is way to much for a chunk of plastic me personally I’ll pass on it
That Off road driving was freaking bad ass!!
Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Compared with
- Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro
- Ford Bronco Outer Banks
- Kia Sorento SX
- Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy
- Chevrolet Blazer RS
- Ford Edge ST
- Toyota Venza Limited
- Porsche Cayenne Turbo S
None of those other cars compare to the wrangler except the 4Runner and bronco
@@mattmekhaeil I Know Bro
2024 Bronco is the best off roader by a bit but 4xe is sexier than 4Runner
Sorento is embarrassing like I could spend 70K and get the best Bronco or a Sorento SX my family would have me committed if I drive home with that
Sante Fe is actually very lowkey cool, might be a classic, unique looks and comfortable
I admittedly have never really checked up on Blazer
Turbo S is prestige SUV people buy it for status, its okay but not near as good for off roading.
Venza is the blandest SUV in the world it depends on what you want
@@rakhsiprayogo82 if you knew why post those other cars then that don’t compare? 💀
We gotta get Raiti’s Rides to review a soft skin military humvee
Shouldn't that 4-lunger be a 2.5 liter? That's a big heavy machine. Hybrid systems add complexity. As for the fabric top, DeMuro will need to open it.
Crazy prices for everything nowadays

Bought this Jeep last August 2021and it has already died on us twice. First time it happened was December last year while my son was driving on the highway the engine just died-all electronics and mechanical- just completely dead, thankfully my son was able to get it on the shoulder and nothing happened to him. Then this past weekend it went dead again despite being charged over nght and being used everyday. The door wouldn't open with the key fob and the engine wouldn't start at all. I gave it a jumpstart and the hybrid battery was charged 99% and the car battery readout was 12.2.
We drove it to the jeep dealership where we bought it and it's been there for days and they still can't figure out what's wrong.
If I can just give this back I will, It's a nice toy but not worth the hassle and the danger.
76,000 what? How much is that in Dollars??
perfect for costco parking lots
4runner is the king of reliability,
jeep is the king of capability.
in those 2 categories , neither compare to each other
I am definitely going for the rubicon 4xe 2024!!🙌🏼😻
They are really nice! We just got ours last weekend.
easily 87K including the dealer markup.
I absolutely love the Rubicon X package. I have one on order. I have owned a Toyota 4 runner . Loved it but sorry Toyota, the jeep is king of off-road
No 4 x E (non electric Guy here) for me......looks nice though.
Reliability is a must for me. 4Runner for me!
What about Bronco?
@@MisterMikeTexas i think for me this is how it goes 4Runner>Bronco>Rubicon 4xe
