- 2024 Jeep Wrangler builds are now a daily occurrence at the EPIC shop and we've noticed some major and some minor changes. This new 4XE has some changes which make it even better than the outgoing 2023 model, especially because you can now make coffee with your 4XE on the go. True story - we did. In this video, the Ginger runs down some of the changes of the 2024 4XE Rubicon and has our wellness team install a Teraflex spacer lift, Falcon Shocks and 35" tires... and then takes it for a spin.
The cross-model 2024 Wrangler Updates are:
New 12" Screen, New Dash, etc.
New Leather Power Seats (for Rubicon)
Curtain Airbags, New Soundbar, etc.
New Fancy Grille
New Wheel Options
Optional 4.56 or 4.88 Axle Differential Gearing (from factory)
Fancy New Top-Dash Charging Lights

My grandparents bought a big screen Zenith when I was younger back in the early 80’s. Big screen back then meant something else entirely, as it was only around 40 inches. It also weighed a couple of hundred pounds. It came in a big wooden cabinet and was bought at Circuit City. I don’t think they even exist any more. It took 4 people to move it. Thanks for a great video and the trip down memory lane. I considered the 4xe for my latest vehicle, but I’m content with the regular JLU Rubicon I bought. I couldn’t justify to myself the added cost for the X, and the way I drive, I wouldn’t have gotten any added benefit from the hybrid. Starting next year, if the strike is over, they’ll all be 4xe. It makes me wonder what will become of the 2 door. Thanks for a really great video.

NExt step for 4E are EMP Proof and maybe just a little bit more power! And Mileage get around 800 mile range it would be a perfect off road machine! The Ginger is a Salesman! :)

I was just thinking a couple weeks ago, about how awesome it would be to put a 392 into the 4XE! Probably a no go though. I wouldn't think there would be enough room under the hood.

As a computer engineer and the "high tech red-neck" of my group, I'm so tempted to trade my 2018 rubi for new 4xe. Especially after having to replace two cams and all the lifters in the 3.6.
Wha? Us too!!! We now prefer the 2.0L turbo engine over the 3.6L due to the camshafts eating themselves pretty much regularly now. lol. Cheers from the "high tech red-necks of the north".

Great builds. I've really enjoyed your videos, both quality and content. I've got a 2023 4xe rubicon. I'm putting on method 704s with the baja boss AT 35x12.50s. I'm not planning on a lift at the moment. At what point does the aftermarket driveshaft become necessary, I saw you added it to both 4xe builds. It seemed linked to the lift changing the angles. Thanks and great job.
as the fancy transmission in the 4XE is longer than your standard wrangler transmission, this pushes the t-case back a little. The CV joint at the T-case is therefore close to being maxed out downwards. Lifting the vehicle, even a little bit, increases the angle of the drive shaft, thus creating a problem whereas any down travel of the suspension will cause some stress and/or breakage. Having your t-case go boom is never fun (ask us how we know). So, yes - while other shops may say "no worries", they probably don't own and wheel a 4XE on the regular and haven't seen the issue first hand. A 1310 driveshaft is a simple and no-brainer to ensure you don't have any issues wheeling your 4XE. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
At even 1.5" of lift there is risk of it hitting cross member or snapping at u-joint due to operating at a weird angle right?. Another consideration is that if your shocks maximum extended length is > 28.5" the drive shaft is guaranteed to kiss/hit the cross member at full droop. 4xe is a snowflake when it comes to lift compatibility :D

I have a '23 20th Anniversary addition and no coffee maker came with it! 🤣 But I really need to find that adapter, I've never seen it before.
My 2024 Rubicon X 4xe is supposed to be built after the strike. My plan is to bring it up there from Seattle to get the lift and tires put on!

The Willy’s (4xe) does come with a full time 4wd system (“auto” which is the same as full time in Toyota), as well as part time.

So what kind o jeep do you guys recommend for a Demon swap? I want that monster 800+ HP Supercharged. Hooked up w/ 40's and capable of towing an offroad trailer + trailer etc.. I want the whole overlander setup. Would I just go w/ a Wrangler Rubicon?
Like I love the fact that you can do that with the 4xE but can’t any vehicle with a 120v plug outlet do that? Like the regular wranglers have a 120v plug on the back side of the console.
Not usually....Most do not generate enough watts to power much.

you can get the painted fenders and roof on a Sahara as well, not just the Rubicon X.
As a matter of fact, that is the only option for Sahara models, is painted fenders.

Have you folks had other 4xe customers go with a Falcon 3.3 SP2 (SKU 11-02-33-400-002) instead? and if yes, does that need involve relocating the speaker using - JL 4xe: Falcon Speaker Relocation Kit SKU 36-07-02-100?
Yeah, we do Falcon 3.3 for 4XE all the time. The reservoir is shorter so it clears the engine bits. Cheers from the team at EPIC!

So will a new 426 Hemi fit in my 2022 JLR 2 door … if so why don’t they factory make a 392 2 door?
Hmmmm... probably because nobody would buy a factory 2-door V8 version at the price they'd have to charge. That being said, we could make one!
On top of the eco advantages of having a hybrid
1. It qualifies for EV incentives
2. It qualifies for an HOV sticker
3. It qualifies for a section 179 tax write off
4. Wranglers have one of, if not, THE best resale value in the auto industry
It may be a little pricy, and reliability may be a little iffy but, I feel like the positives far outweight the negatives
Lithium is still pulled out of the ground and is not renewable. Also too much junk to go wrong off road. I like the KISS principle.

The Harris Ranch Tesla Supercharger station has 98 charging bays - the facility in Coalinga, California, is the largest charging station in the world. But to provide that kind of power takes something solar can't provide - diesel generators.LOL!

Why don't you buy one & try to drive cross county, trail riding off road, etc. Talk to someone who has one. They stated it could only go 30 miles on road until the motor needed to be kicking in. So it's not a total electric vehicle but a hybrid.
You & our government workers can have it. City Jeep For Yuppies.

Until you go to trade it in several years only to find out the 4xe doesn't retain value nearly as well as full gas models.
Maybe... but so far trade-in values with a 4XE in our neck of the woods are fine and on-par with their ICE only counterparts.
Interesting. Here in Western PA, the values of used 4xe run about 15-20% less than their gas counterparts in comparable trims/mileage.

Totally it does.
Not a fan of adding all the electric components and turbos to Offroad rigs....just seems like another layer of complexity and more parts to fail and leave you stranded in the middle of no-where.
Jeep, GM, and Toyota all going to hybrid or turbo'd 4 bangers is disappointing.
😂 having sensors all over your vehicle will confuse you and cause you to have an accident so I prefer to use my eyes ears and brains it's much better the computer world is getting ridiculous and people need to stop asking for those extras on vehicles
Show when you first start up that 2 liter turbo engine .... i witnessed at dealership. not pretty..... also stomped on the accelerator on hwy test drive... again not pretty the 2.0 is maxed out, its not made to last. not the jeep you would be handing down.

What happened Americans, you guys left an Italian corporation decide crazy prices for that brand , go to a Mercedes or a BMW dealership, those cars are made on base of total quality, and with real prices. The Italians are abusing of the fashion for those 4x4 vehicles, come on, unbelievable you pay up to 110,000 US dollars for those unreliable , expensive, and even dangerous and uncomfortable cars. Go for a mercedes GLE, a BMW X6, and see the difference in built quality, comfort, reliability, safety, tech involved, time endurance and price
