I'd like to think I'm relatively handy, you have given me the confidence to want to try and tackle projects I would have otherwise thought were too far out of my league. Thank you from a new sub!
To save time and hassle I would have probably done this on a MDF board and then put the board up on the wall instead of building it on the actual wall. It would make it so much easier to make and remove when you get tired of it. But it does look amazing! Great job 👍🏽
Yes, if you have the will and want then anything is possible. I am an expert with trying and my goal is to get better. Push through the obstacles and never give up
Honestly the wireless charging station is a really cool idea. You can use it when you're taking a shower, getting ready (doing your makeup), or just a place to put your phone when you are on the loo. Once again, you amaze me with your renovations!
Looks great, I probably would have built it on mdf backplate in my garage and build, fill, sand and paint at my leisure beside my tools, then lift the complete finished piece in on one go and attach to wall.
The green/black is stunning! Finally, someone uses color in a project 👍🏼 actually my father is looking for a house, he assigned me as the interior decorator/builder for his future new home and one of the colors we discussed was a modern twist on one of his fav colors: green! I’ve seen another builder pull off a gorgeous black/green in a cabinet kitchen build with accented cabinet uppers in natural, light wood tones similar to your ash, just stunning! This Jasper though is even deeper and I think he’ll love it... I may use it for my own projects lol. Anyways enjoyed this one, you did a good job, love the angle iron as your wall support for the ash shelves and am thrilled you kept the wood in its natural color! I hate stain as it takes away the beauty of the wood itself so glad you embraced its wild color! Also, routing your flowery design onto the small ash shelf, I’m wondering if a dremel with a smaller router bit or engraving bit would’ve allowed more detail? Regardless I appreciate you hand routing as I hate cnc machine work since I can’t replicate it and it takes away authenticity and the point of “putting your mark on it”. Hand carved or at least routed by hand allows errors which is the point to carving in designs. Don’t want it to be perfect because that takes away originality and workmanship quality. Very good project!
Thank you so much. Yeah the color is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Now I want to do a large wall with a simpler pattern....but I’m sure I’ll some how come up with a more complicated approach and regret it lol
Mr. Build It Nice! I’m excited for it! I really haven’t found another blackish green that I like as much as your color. I’m pretty picky with colors but the green with the natural ash you picked is better than I would’ve thought to do 👍🏼 recently I was watching a lady from Germany on YT and she used 3/4” mdf, cut them into wide strips or panels, I’d say roughly a foot or wider, then dado’d in grooves on both sides to meet up just like shop lap. She painted her panels a blackish green also (hers had more of an army green tint to it) and it was striking as well. Just a thought. Another neat idea came from YT’s “The Weekender”. I don’t know if you’ve watched before but Monica is the designer/builder and one of her last weekend projects involved 3/4” (assuming) plywood, dado’d random angular patterns using a router and nailed em up to the walls instead of painting. She did paint black into the dado’s to make them stand out and an even cooler thought if you like this idea is to grout the dado’s like YT’s “Homemade Modern” did with boards either using a router, table saw or a cnc. Could come up with some beautiful designs either way. There was a wall or two painted flat black (Or could be your Jasper Green) to break up so much plywood paneling. You know (I apologize writing a novel smh) one other YTuber I think you’d absolutely fall in love with are a cute couple “Wabi Sabi”. They recently completed their laundry rm... you’d get a kick out of their shiplap made to look like old blue china... seriously a cool couple you and your wife can laugh too. Thanks for responding and I look forward to your next project or build!!! 🤟🏽
Really like the format of your videos! Instead of just one “bathroom remodel” video, you broke down each aspect and showed what it takes to build each one. Less overwhelming for us novices, inspiring too! New sub!
THIS CHANNEL MAKES ME SO MOTIVATED TO FIX MY HOUSE UP. Legit, I would buy the heck out of a custom made charging station like that. Seriously. Make more and put them in your shop. You should totally start making those. Take my money.
Just thinking about having to clean the dust and "stuff" off of each one of those hexagons, on top of the other bathroom cleaning, is frustrating me. I would have just done a hex patterned wallpaper.
I just bought my first drill and reciprocating saw yesterday. Much thanks to you, and other youtubers like Modern Builds! Can’t wait to invest in other tools.
7:17 Having worked with narrow wood cuts exactly like this for art pieces, my recommendation is actually to prime the wood after you've made the 1 inch cuts but before you make the hexagon cuts (at the point you have the long pieces that can easily be brushed). It saves a lot of unpleasant work later on.
This is regard to other videos love the mistake you makes and show them and fix them and give people hope that mistakes happen. Love honesty in a hard working person.
We need a full bathroom tour now that the bathroom is done. Start at the barn door🙂. If you pair it with a Q&A session, you can get a nice 20 min video (hint hint...this is the sweet spot of not too short, not too long and max income) out of it. You do amazing work!
As many others have stated "embrace the suck" really spoke to me. I am midway through a bathroom reno that is just not going my way. It's my first time doing almost everything on my own so my wife always asks me "why would it be perfect when you've never done it before?" and I think it's time I embrace the suck. Thanks for that.
some nice work there, I've been enjoying your builds for a while now. I highly recommend you try a keyway for your floating shelves, especially when you have a shelf between two walls you can rout or table saw out a dado and then just mill a piece of wood to fill that space.
My boys wanted to see a build this morning and your video was chosen. Creating is so fun and with it we always learn something and can build from that. Really enjoyed the project and the encouragement!
For those shelves after thinking about it, to add some more support maybe just put angle iron on both of the sides as well. Then you'd still have the floating shelf look but a lot more support.
I've been waiting for this video since the teasers on the community tab. I love this!!! Especially that accent wall. Definitely going to do something similar to my guest bathroom
13:09 My method for creating a floating shelf goes like this. Drill 3" to 4" deep holes that are half the total thickness of the wood being used. 1 hole at least 4 inches. Rip the board down the length at least 1" wide. Glue 3" to 4" dowel rod same thickness of the hole created in the 1" piece. Screw into stud or use drywall anchors 1" piece with rods to wall. Slide other side onto the mounted piece. You can glue it, then it becomes permanent. Directions are super simple, but may sound confusing since I'm typing on my phone.
13:57 Instead of putting iron angle in the back of the shelf you could put iron angles on each side of the shelf the same way you did it in the back. Then you attach them to the walls and then slide the shelf in place. Hell, for even more stability you could leave angle iron in the back. It would require some precision, but I guess this way you could put anything on it, yourself included.
I like it. You have great ideas. I think I personally might have liked the hexagons to be a different color than the back wall. Very awesome though. I've got my husband into your videos now.
Just came across your channel i love it I DIY everything mainly because i hate paying people for something I can probably figure out. I never understood the Bidet what if you have a really bad meal and it's one of those that is just explosive and gets all over and is thick and just sticks. I feel like just spraying water on your backside wouldn't be enough, unless the bidet was like a 4000 psi.
What is your day job? Wondering how you have so much time to work on your house! You have some really cool ideas. We have similar style in the decor of our homes.
Mr. Build It for real?!? Dang that’s legit. I should quit my job and do this! Lol probably shouldn’t do that. Just bought my first place though so I have done a lot in like a month lol. Should have recorded it all and posted it! Haha
Wow that backdrop is stunning I wonder why u didn’t change the toilet to get on the level of the background? A cool modern n interesting toilet would make it out of this world
Any chance you could tweek the volume in editing to allow for more consistent volume level? Love watching your videos but sucks having to adjust the volume up & down through your videos sometimes. Can’t wait to try some of these awesome projects when I move out of my apartment. Keep the great content coming dude! Nice work

Omg I love this. I would PAY to patron your toilet and charging station. Lol. I can’t wait for my bidet system to get here. I’ve heard it’s life-changing...
Looks brilliant! I was wondering, how do you clean the paint gun from the inside? Can you just blast air through it and itll get rid of all traces of paint? Because if youre painting a white wall you dont want any of that black forest ish colour in it, so how do you do it?
I love how you guys probably bought this house kinda cheap and then you are completely renovating it slowly. I would love to see how high the resale value is now.
Great addition to your bathroom! What a beautiful change. One question I had regarding the airless sprayer, It did not appear you masked off everything. Was over spray an issue? I have never considered a sprayer for inside the house in fear of overspray. Should I reconsider? Thanks for posting!!
Does your wireless charger have lights when charging? If so, it would've been cool to see your design go deeper so the epoxy would light up when it's charging.
You are seriously amazing!! So much knowledge and great work ethic!! Love watching your videos. Looks like you’re going to need to buy another house when you run out of things to do in the current one! 😄
Great job Mister. My tip would be to lay the design on a 1/8 board, fill, sand, prime, paint, cut and fit. That's just what I'll do.
Easily becoming one of the next big makers on RUclips. Loving these regular Reno videos man.
