I need meal ideas!! Maybe three separate videos “one week of breakfasts, one week of lunches, one week of dinners” so we can get a couple different ideas? 🥰
I cry every time I watch your videos. I can't imagine how resilient and loving you must be. You are my inspiration as a FTM. Every time I feel mad and overwhelmed with my baby, I just think about you and Arrow and all my anger is immediately replaced with love. Thank you so much Brittany
I've been doing baby-led weeding now for a month and a half in this video still was really helpful! Thanks. One thing that makes baby led weaning way easier is having a dog. Instant floor clean up
I don't have a baby, I'm not pregnant and I don't think it will happen for at least 10 more years. But here I am watching a half an hour video about how to feed a baby 😂
Love this! My daughter (6mo) had a reaction to peanuts recently and the doctor recommended liquid Reactine rather than Benedryl because of the side effects (sleepiness can look like lethargy) - just an extra option in case of emergency!
Love this! I would love a video about cutting and preparing food for baby led weaning. Arrow is a lucky little lady to have such a good mom that is so passionate!
@@redj936 it went great! Glad I did it. I’d definitely recommend a infant cpr & choking class. I went into without that & I was constantly worried my daughter was gonna choke.
Thank you for the myths facts part. I started my son on purees at 5 months because he is so interested in food and I felt bad eating in front of him. He LOVES IT. he's so much more satisfied right now. I hand make all my purees as simple as possible. When he's 6 months we are starting blw and ill supplement purees IF he needs it. It drives me nuts when people say "you can't do.... if you do...." we have to do what works for us! Thank you for advocating for doing what works for you and your baby!!!! ❤❤❤
I love your videos! I have a 7 month old and we are doing a combo of baby led and traditional weaning. We have the what mummy makes recipe book, you cook one thing for the whole family from 6 months up! It's so good!
Loved this. You inspired us to do BLW, we're 3 weeks into it with my 6 mo old and we looooooove it! Solid Starts just launched an app and we really like it - I'd love to see you partnered with them, we get a lot out of your content and theirs.
We love blw! My daughter is 9 months & it's been such a great experience. I LOVE watching her eat, it's honestly some of my favorite parts of the day. Yes, it's really messy. My baby eats in a diaper & bib 95% of the time lol. Also be prepared for it to make other ppl uncomfortable/nervous. It doesn't bother me but I can understand how it could be discouraging for others, especially first time parents. Also prepping is great way to not feel overwhelmed. I steam veggies on say Sunday & then she can eat those for next cpl of days. Frozen & can veggies are totally OK! They are just as healthy for baby! Oh & I have a pull out sprayer on my kitchen sink & it's amazing for clean up lol. She loves it & my son calls it the baby car wash!
My baby turned 6 months in May and we've been doing BLW for a little over a month now and we're absolutely loving it. I actually first heard of it through you and was excited to try it. My mom always watches videos of baby eating and is like "ah the mess. You got so much cleaning up to do" and I honestly don't mind it. I dare say I love the mess. I enjoy it as much as my baby does and as long as he's having fun, that's what's important to me. So far he's loved all foods and meals I've given him and always make sure seasoning is on point (minus the salt). So happy you made this video, I always follow your stories to get meal inspo!
i’ve literally been researching BLW lately because we’re a month and a half until baby is 6months and we can start! it’s so exciting but also kinda nerve-wracking! thank you for this!
We did the 100 first foods on BLW and reached our goal right in time for our daughters 1st bday. And you’re totally right, for someone it might be overwhelming and for me because I’m a planner, I loved having a plan. When there are so many options, I feel lost, overwhelmed and I give up. We’ve been loving our journey and it’s so easy to feed her now, so many foods to choose from. And by offering so many foods by 1 years old, they are more likely to not be picky eaters (which we have learned it the hard way from our first kiddo, who is now super picky and it’s a struggle to this day.). I wish I knew about BLW back then.
Brittany I completely agree with you on the tuna fish, it is the number one “food” I will never eat. I always watch your videos through my TV app so I can’t usually comment but had to jump on my phone to soul sister with you on the tuna hate. I Watch you every week and love your content. I discovered you while I was pregnant and now my son is 6 months old. Thank you for keeping it real but also keeping it fun. 💜
Yaaaaay new video! My son is going to be 6 months old in one week. I’ve already started him on purées but I’m going to do BLW. And your videos are so helpful ♥️ God bless you and beautiful little Arrow 🙏🏼🤍
She is getting such good nutrition and learning so much! You're such a good mama! I'm due w my 1st next month, am interested in BLW, & would love to see a follow up video!
YAS GURL! Bless your sweet soul! 🌼 My bb girl is 6 mnths I NEEDED THIS VID 😍 THANK U! You’ve been so helpful in this mom journey! U ARE GLOWING IN A BEAUTIFUL NEW WAY BTW! 💖
Please make second video!!! It's so overwhelming. If you guys had any trouble shooting issues you should include that! I have a six month old who is hesitant to pick things up unless I preload a spoon and give it to him!
I already know this is not going to be the method for us, but this was so informative and interesting! I definitely got a few tips from it that I can use for our chosen method once she is here 🥰
I started BLW because of you! I started seeing all your insta stories and seeing arrow so I gave it a try and I love it and never went back ! I started purees at 4 and a half months and started BLW at 6
It gives me the BIGGEST anxiety. My daughter is 8 months old today, banana has been a hit so far, but everything makes me soooo nervous. Especially strawberries. This was definitely helpful though, I’ve been googling and watching RUclips videos all day. My baby was late with some of her milestones so I’m just now feeling comfortable to do it.
My daughter is just about to be 9 months & is finally eating actual food! She just wasn’t interested, she only wanted purées so I did the pouch ones so she could still feed herself! I love your videos btw!! You’re goals 100%
I never comment on videos, but this is such a great video jammed pack with all the info anyone would need! We’ve been doing BLW for about 7 months now and I agree with everything you said!
Yes I totally can! I do have some resources linked in the description (2 meal videos I’ve made) and I have two dedicated highlights on my IG of meals in different age groups 💞
Would love a how to cut things and what Arrow does with them. My little one is 8 months we do a mixture of purée and BLW (I struggle with choking anxiety) I freak out when he gags (I know its normal) Does she still gag? X
I need this answered as well! Same totally with I do puree, and I'm struggling to start BLW because I'm terrified of choking too!! In her other videos Brittany seems to feed Arrow large chunks of food, but my baby just STUFFS the entire thing in her mouth and then cries because she's choking and/or uncomfortable. So I'm starting with like, doing SUPER small pieces, but that doesn't seem feasible either!
My daughter is 5 months. Her pediatrician allowed purées at 4 months so I’ve been doing that for a while. Excited to start Solids in a more independent way.
I personally do purees and baby led weaning with my son. I don’t always have time to make him a meal and so I’ll just give him purées. I notice he likes the combo rather than just one or other for extended periods of time.
Your passion for motherhood is so inspiring! Sometimes I forget that it’s okay to be obsessed with my baby things ❤️ My first bb did not agree with BLW, somehow he kept shoving things into the very bag of his throat 😂 I’m doing a mix for my second baby now. I give him a few finger foods with something mashed up for him
Legit question: is there any specific consideration of iron intake with BLW? From what I understand the age of 6 months is recommended for starting solids as iron is one of the very few important nutrients, which does not get to the baby through the breastmilk. And as the baby is born with a "stored" amount of iron enough for 6 months, the recommendation is that after this period, solids are introduced to make sure the baby is getting the necessary iron supply. But if she doesn't eat any of the offered foods for multiple days in a row, or eats only a bit and mostly foods that are not sources of iron, would that not pose a risk of developing anemia?
I have a severe allergy baby too. Mama it’s HARD and SCARY!!!! After our first ER trip we got an EPI pen and an allergist and after the second ER trip we got a nutritionist on board as well. Ask your doctor about baby cetirizine! It’s a second generation antihistamine (baby Zyrtec) and can be dosed for infants starting from 6 months of age and doesn’t make them drowsy or limp.
My favorite meals are toast with a topping, noodles with sauce & a veggie mixed in, fruit salad (lol just fruit & yogurt) & scrambled eggs w/ cheese & a veggie mixed in!
Hi. Plz I have a question about your hair. Do you have any weekly routine, or are you getting any kind of vitamins cuz I noticed that you're hair is growing so fast. Thank you.
don’t have a baby yet or even pregnant but I absolutely love your baby vids, especially this! I’ve looked into blw for when I do have a baby and this video is so helpful. you’re amazing 🤍
I literally just gave my baby her first food yesterday: 🥑 I have to do a mix between blw & purees. I gave her a slice of it, then mashed some up with breast milk, then just let her play with the mash
i wish i could, but my little girl has ONH and can't see well. This would be such a great idea though!!! Thank youuuuu once again for always giving great ideas!
Thank you!! Perfect timing, I really needed this lol. My baby is 5 months, and I have been stressing about starting baby led weaning soon. (Trying oatmeal today ahh) Your videos make me feel like I’m not alone. Thanks for all you do B :)
I’m really struggling with transitioning to solids with my 11 month old. My husband and I work full time and he is with my parents and my in laws during the week. Any tips on getting everyone to be on the same page when it comes to starting solids
I would try and plan out a meal plan with them and schedule. Like on this day we’ll try this for the first time in between meals as a snack and then bump it up to one full meal a day then every meal a day. If there is a schedule it gets rid of the fear from both sides.
My advice: Reevaluate your boundaries when it comes to baby feeding and allow for your in-laws to choose a more comfortable option (for them) to feed your little one while he is with them. That could mean you and your husband prepare a box of BLW foods that they can grab from or if they’re really not comfortable with BLW (as most grandparents are 🥴) maybe provide some home made purées for them to use instead. And if you ever have a day off or you have a little free time to stay for meal time with your in laws around, you can take over so they can see how you & your hubs want to present food to your little one. (If they’re anything like my mom, take a deep breath if they become over bearing/begin back seat driving. Remind yourself what a blessing it is to have them watch your little guy then redirect them to what YOU want for baby)
Yeah it all comes down to what the caretaker is comfortable with because if they are not comfortable accidents can occur and if they are uncomfortable is because they are not prepared, you can try on weekends when you have your child
This was so informative! I'd love to see more videos around this topic and I feel like at some point you mention a teether or a toy she was using as a way to practice bringing objects to her mouth? Am i imagining that? Anyway it would be super interesting to hear if you have any recommendations that "support" the baby led weaning journey from the child's side :)
Thank you for sharing your story! I have a 1 month old and my mom came and stayed with me for the first month and I would re-watch your videos while breast feeding and my mom would watch too and she would go “oh you have that, oh you have that” and I was like “ya I basically buy anything Brittany recommends” 😜 speaking of which - I already have the gathre mat for diaper changes but what size is the one you have for putting under the high chair ?
I'm watching your videos since I was 7month preggo..now my baby is just starting on solid, this video is going to be so helpfull for me.thank you very much for sharing 😍.. lots of love to you and to arrow❤️❤️
If you’re spoon feeding your baby just pay attention to their cues. Any head turning, pushing away the spoon, not opening the mouth, are cues that baby is full/doesn’t want any more. I personally pay attention to how quickly our baby opens her mouth for food. She’s super quick at the beginning of mealtime but when she’s done she’s slow to open her mouth/doesn’t reach for the spoon. Just some things to keep in mind to help prevent over feeding.
Brittany i jst love every video of youra but now a days my baby is having diarrhea...if anyone here who can tel how to deal with it naturally at home??kindly tel how many times arrow pas stool?let me knw how many times its normal for a baby to poo...waiting for reply.God bless u
I really appreciate this video!! 🥺 I’m a new mom, so scared of solids lol Bc of chocking. My son will be 6 months next month so I’m excited to begin. Thank you 🙏❤️
Very helpful video! When did you transition to bite sized pieces? My baby is 9months old, so I'm in between big finger foods and bite sized pieces, I'm not sure when to give big or small pieces. Also, does she spill from cups, or drinks it well? Can I give breastmilk in a cup (open cup or straw cup) if I go back to work at 11 months? Or should I use a bottle for milk? Thanks!
Download the solid starts app! It tells you the prep size for their age. My baby is 9months and we’ve started moving to smaller pieces but sometimes she has trouble so I still do big bits too.
Not entirely through the video yet, but I appreciate the comment that you are able to stay at home with Arrow and thus have the privilege to practice baby led weaning. Working and putting your baby in a day care, I'm not entirely sure what foods to be able to give them, so I just give them the purees because it seems like it's the most common and easiest. My biggest problem is figuring out, once she's no longer taking formula, what to put in her lunchbox at that time. What do you put in a lunchbox for a 1 year old? Are they still on purees at that point? I have no idea...
I love your channel. My birthday is 3/3/91 and my baby was born 11/7/2020 and I wish we could be friends in real life lol. Husband is in the navy and we just moved to San Diego!!! So much fresh produce here and I love the weather! Thank you for your channel. ❤️
Britt is always great at caveating her content with “every baby is different” but I just wanted to reassure any mamas that some babies just can’t feed themselves at 6/7/8 months of age. My first was a natural eater. I did BLW with him from the start and I thought “this is so great so glad I don’t have to make purées” and felt a bit smug about it tbh! My second I tried and there is just no way he could do it. His motor development is slower than average and he just doesn’t have the skills or inclination to pick food up and put it in his mouth. He’s only just starting to do that at 8 months now. Some of the BLW resources and books make out like all babies can eat this way and might stress out first time moms about having a picky eater in the future. Like a lot of things, it more comes down to the baby and their skills/temperament than anything you’re doing so please don’t feel like you’ve done something wrong if BLW is not working for you ❤️
Thank you for this! I’ve been so stressed bc my baby is 8 months & hasn’t started putting food to her mouth yet so we have to feed it to her but she has started eating solids just not by herself. Thanks for the reassurance.
I need meal ideas!! Maybe three separate videos “one week of breakfasts, one week of lunches, one week of dinners” so we can get a couple different ideas? 🥰
Agree!

Yeah it all comes down to what the caretaker is comfortable with because if they are not comfortable accidents can occur and if they are uncomfortable is because they are not prepared, you can try on weekends when you have your child
can’t wait to watch it when captions are up!
Much much needed video. My daughter is 7 months old now! Thank you ❤️
Thank you for sharing your story!
Love your videos. So helpful. I’ve been following you over a year now. So proud of you and happy to see these amazing videos
Would love the part two! Also, what size gathre mat did you end up getting? I also got the trip trap and want to get a mat for underneath!
Thanks for all your amazing videos!! Please do the basic video that you discussed 😫🙌🏻
I’ve been doing a mix of both BLW and mashed/puréed foods. Choking is one of my biggest fears so I’m actively trying to work on that
This video was so helpful! I just started doing BLW when my son turned 6 months and it’s been so fun.
This video was so helpful. Also can we talk about the editing?! 🙌🏼 Another great video 💛

You’re such an amazing mom, Brittany! I hope you’re proud of yourself! ❤️
I just love your channel, videos, advices, everything is just so interesting ❤️ such a cool mom
Loved this! Such a great breakdown and loved the myths/truths segment ❤️
This is awesome!! I would love more BLW videos! My baby is due in Sept. :)
I am sooo waiting for this! My baby is almost 8 months and been feeding her thru blw for almost 2 months and I'm running out of ideas
Omg thank you for this video! I’m starting BLW next month and feel so lost, haha
Baby is on the way, and I can’t wait to start this! Also your meals make me so hungry 🤣🤣 Thanks for the info 🤍🤍
I really appreciate this video!! 🥺 I’m a new mom, so scared of solids lol Bc of chocking. My son will be 6 months next month so I’m excited to begin. Thank you 🙏❤️
I did BLW with my first and now doing with my 9 month old. I love it! But I would love to see more meal ideas. ❤️
I’ve been waiting for this video! Thank you for posting!
My baby is 5weeks
Loving now moments with her but excited for BLW. Hoping to have a foodie...already obsessed watching what I eat
This is so informative, thank you so much for the excellent video!
I do purées and BLW. I just prepare it in the form she’ll most likely get it in the future. But she gets bananas however is easiest.
A follow up please ❤️ I’m planning on starting in one month 😇 Love your videos!
Please can you show us how you prepare the food 😊
Not entirely through the video yet, but I appreciate the comment that you are able to stay at home with Arrow and thus have the privilege to practice baby led weaning. Working and putting your baby in a day care, I'm not entirely sure what foods to be able to give them, so I just give them the purees because it seems like it's the most common and easiest. My biggest problem is figuring out, once she's no longer taking formula, what to put in her lunchbox at that time. What do you put in a lunchbox for a 1 year old? Are they still on purees at that point? I have no idea...
Ah baby just woke up. Will continue watching later! Can't wait haha
I love your channel. My birthday is 3/3/91 and my baby was born 11/7/2020 and I wish we could be friends in real life lol. Husband is in the navy and we just moved to San Diego!!! So much fresh produce here and I love the weather! Thank you for your channel. ❤️
What is your experience with baby led weaning and breastfeeding? How do you know how much of their to give them?
Bowel idea 💡 is clever 👍💜 we will deffo try
Like a lot of things, it more comes down to the baby and their skills/temperament than anything you’re doing so please don’t feel like you’ve done something wrong if BLW is not working for you ❤️
This is so true. My 7 month old is on pureés, and she doesn't understand how to bring food to her mouth yet.
This is true... My son is 15 months old he’s sooo good at feeding himself but he just doesn’t want to walk lol
Thank you for this! I’ve been so stressed bc my baby is 8 months & hasn’t started putting food to her mouth yet so we have to feed it to her but she has started eating solids just not by herself. Thanks for the reassurance.
Trueeee!!!
I did BLW without even knowing it was a thing! Got more into it watching your videos and my kid eats by himself since 7 months old ☺️☺️☺️☺️
My baby is going to be 6 months before I know it - so grateful for this! I’ve only wanted to do BLW.
Time flies so fast 🥲💞
