    CBR heavier because it have brake caliper with 4 piston.. and 3liters more on fuel space. and bigger rear TYRE.. and bigger castwheel, and UPSIDE down.

      CBR it's better motorbike, anyway, Kawasaki Ninja is a good motorbike too.

      @@VictorMartinez_ However for a sub-600cc Honda & Kawasaki, especially the non supersport category, Honda tends to have more frequent maintenance compared to the Ninja.

    Just remember guys that the us spec ninja gets 51 hp per kawasakis website it’s not even a contest with that knowledge considering you can get the ninja for 2000 less

    I’ve been watching tons of videos about 500’s and every time I’m more in love with the CBR500❤️ as a big bikes beginner, I can’t fault anything on this bike🤷🏽‍♂️

    Great video and presentation, thanks! Cool designs. Good point about the extra weight on the one bike affecting it a little. Interesting they are both under 500cc, 451 for the Ninja here. A Ninja 400 vs Ninja 500 comparison should be interesting.

    hello, I have a question, if I take a ninja 500 wich has conventional telescopic forks, will I feel the difference between this and a inverted fork? Because actually I have a mt-125 because I leave in Europe and there is the restriction, so I am asking my self if I will feel a difference if I take a bike with conventional telescopic forks instead of inverted forks wich is the case for my bike

      Mainly when ridden back to back with hard cornering. Technically the USD forks are more stable in every way but as a novice it's no big deal. Go with what excites you and fits your budget.

    Ninja 500 can go 31.6km/l, compare to CBR500R, it can only go 28km/l, this means that the Ninja is only short of 1 litre of fuel, however considering the power to weight ratio of both bikes, real riding experience promises both bikes ride at the same distance.

    There is nothing wrong with the conventional fork on the Ninja, ditto the smaller tyres. The Honda definitely has better brakes though.

      @@redsview Uglier than the previous model though, Ninja always have a good design in any model except 150cc, that's including all 4 Japanese bikes below 250cc

    This video was assuming the Ninja had less power when the HP were not yet released. The Ninja has 4 HP more however.

      True, because it can revs higher & smoother, rev limits at 10,000 rpm compared to Honda at 8750 rpm. Ninja have higher top speed too at 190km/h compared to CBR at 184km/h

    The only issue with the honda are the weight and its boring engine

      Some of the weight difference is due to the fact that the cbr has more sportier sized tires

      It has a better engine than the ninja 500, also they included the dry weight for the ninja but the wet weight for the cbr, not to mention the cbr has bigger tyres and carries a heavier fuel load due to a larger tank

    People would still prefer to buy this Ninja500 because they’ve been brainwashed by its brand, but if you’re a practical and knows how to research you will probably prefer to buy Honda instead.

      Nope, both are not originally made in Japan, so quality and materials are mostly the same, a more branded parts does not means they have the quality as the Jap's made, quality & longevity is affected more by riding style. So, every sub 600cc bikes non-Japanese made, cheaper is better

    CBR500r just makes more sense to buy than the Kawasaki 500

      I've always been a fan of Kawasaki but the shortcomings really were disappointing. Honda is the best the choice here.

      It has lower power to weight ratio though, while the CBR has higher engine power due to it being 471cc compared to the Ninja's 451 it gets defeated by the Ninja overall on the power to weight ratio. Ninja is only 173kg and the CBR is 191kg which weighs like R1

      That weight is 41lbs. That significant to me plus shorter wheelbase i like. It's a toss up. Would come to color and availability to me. I could do either

      More CC's does not equate to more power. The Kawasaki engine is better than the CBR's in terms of raw performance.
      The Ninja 500 is better for the performance rider, CBR 500R better for the older rider who wants fuel economy and does touring.@@johnmichaelparedes7987

    Modern bikes have really gone backwards. Hell 1990 tzr 250, etc will beat both of these lawn mower powered bikes.

      Probably they're planning for 3 cylinders R3 with 330cc & R5 with 548cc, those would be great sporty engines

    Ninja 300 has 40hp, why buy brand new Ninja 500 when u can get a used ninja 300 for $2000 that offers the same electronics and 5hp less

      @@valentinabaphomet You obviously don't understand engine numbers than. Ninja 300 is 39 HP at 11K RPM with 17.5 Ft lbs of torque at 10K vs Ninja 500 with 45 HP at 9K RPM and 34 ft lbs of torque at 6K. That means your power comes on WAY stronger at WAY less RPM meaning much better acceleration. Yes you will have similar top speeds but the new 500 will get there so much faster.

      More materials on the parts, however doesn't mean a better quality, all sub 600ccs are not Japanese made, quality & materials are mostly the same although some parts represent better brands

    Ninja all the way! I own a 400 and it's easy to shed 10kg from it by removing some parts like the tail, rear seat and supports.
    A lighter bike will always be better.

      Not to mention the “bread box” catalyst converter weighs like 20lbs on these bikes. A full race exhaust is always my first mod.

      @@nelocinco3836 No it must not come with anything, there's no specific amount of performance as a requiement.
      The R3 is much lighter but has a much smaller engine and therefore less performance than both, both in acceleration and especially in low/mid rpm pulls.
      Still agreat bike, for many better than both.
      Honda went for a bigger bike so naturally heavier, that has it's pros and cons.
      A bike is not measured in just acceleration numbers.
      Also the CBR has more torque so in real world performance it performs just fine thanks to torque and also is less less affected by a heavy rider than a smaller lighter bike.

      @@christosswc The Honda toped at 184 & Kawi at 190, the 400cc kawi with lighter body & smaller cc than both still smoked them both although with lower torque, but its shorter stroke helps its engine to rev higher... If the 3 bikes have riders of similar weight, bet Kawi 400 will win, Kawi 500 definitely be fhe second... Plus the Honda's torque is barely higher than Kawi 500, means that it won't be enough to compensate for its heavy weight
