As someone who played Killing Floor for... some time, he is right. If you wanna have fun with this game, play it with friends. One thing I'd like to add that Bricky forgot to mention, is that as a medic, you get money when healing people. The money you get, is proportional to how much you heal.

It makes me unreasonably happy to see you covering these games. Killing Floor was a big staple of my life back in my college years, in part because my first laptop meant for college work wasn't built to really play pc games. But it COULD play KF. So I played this game a LOT, even after I got better laptops! Because, you know, I could play KF with a smoother frame rate then!
I used to play og killing floor during my remote tech support shifts. I would literally be like "Thank you for calling support how can I help you." While blasting zeds. It was so cool to see tripwire take everything they had done in KF1 and applying that to KF2 in early access and beyond. Just super fun games focused on their namesake, Killin'.
Killing Floor is one of those games where you can play with random people, but still fun to play in casually. Kinda rare compared to games like Left 4 Dead.
Glad to see a series I've been playing since 2009 is getting some love. I'm one of those Hell on Earth vets and it's amazing when everybody in your group is equally skilled. Hoping KF3 brings us back the good vibes of KF1.
Oh man, I know I'm a few months late but one thing I wanted to say about this game that I think you forgot to mention: The music in this game is FAN-TAS-TIC, it's sorta of those Doom songs that put you in the mood to kill hordes upon hordes of enemies while screaming "FUCKING DIE AAAAA" and it makes every second of this game worth it
I love this game. It was the game I used you play with my older brother before he died. One of the only ways we could connect, as we were very different in nature. Still miss playing, but man is it hard mentally to play it alone now.
As much as I love the old KF1 (standalone, never played the mod), it has a really bad problem with class usefulness at high difficulty. That's the one thing that KF2 fixed beautifully, it has phenomenally good approach to high difficulty by giving enemies more agressive movements and extra attacks and more chaotic animations rather than simply more health, more damage approach of KF1.
Every perk in kf1 has their own use and are able to deal with everything when they need to, just takes actual skills to play and that’s the reason why many people prefer kf1 over kf2. Kf1 doesn’t need erratic movements to make it more difficult but even if it did add such things, kf1 just becomes even more difficult than it already is.

KF1 vet here, thanks for the nostalgia trip. One of my favorite parts of the lat/end-game experience of KF1 were some of the more arcadey aspects of it that we don't see in KF2. I still have great memories of binding mousewheel to throw $1 and making it rain dosh XD One of my favorites was called the scrake uppercut where you play as a support with an axe. Headshot a scrake with the axe to stun it, crouch and fire a well-timed double barrel alt fire through its neck. When done right the shotgun will hit both the scrake's head and body hitboxes for huge damage (able to 1-shot scrakes on any difficulty) Also zerker was the ultimate solo class, their speed allowed for some of the best kiting.

Also I have to wonder what conditions people into believing zeds are a threat without a head. They stumble a bit before dying sometimes but for all intensive purposes they are dead and to shoot a stumbling corpse wastes ammo and in the case of a bloat could damage you and your team or possibly kill them.

I love this series so much, it just feels so damn good to play, spent so many nights just bashing zeds to the banging soundtrack in one, fell off a bit with the second because of the monetization, hopefully the newly announced third brings things back to their peak
The first one is the best, the maps where more expanded that in the 2. I play a lot with friends, the moon and the swamp maps are the best, and the London mapa totally classic. And the description of the characters in the biografy is more harcore than in 2.
Love that people still love Killing Floor 1. I love the gritty, dark art from the first game. It used to scare me as a kid .I think the series is still hella fucking underrated. Besides it having a lot of dlc's for weapons and maps I think its still a very solid game and the 2nd game improved a bit of the grind from the first game. Cant wait for Killing Floor 3!!!!
im glad you mention the veteran KF chads that upload the "solo hell on earth" runs where they are so damn good at the game it looks like they are not even human xD
As Killing Floor 1 is my favorite game, I am so glad a well-known RUclipsr has made a proper video covering the game and giving it the passion and love that is deserves. If anyone is reading this and considering buying the game, try it out! It's so incredibly fun and if you're an achievement hunter like me, it's a bitch to grind, but well worth it (After 1k hours, I finally got 100%'d the game!). Thank you for making an in-depth video on KF1 and giving it some well-needed love! DOSH!
No other game can replicate the feeling of fighting off hordes of enemies back to back with your boys, then someone hits that clutch zed time headshot proc as we’re getting surrounded and overrun. Core memories were made off that single gimmick. Really looking forward to killing floor 3!
I first played Killing Floor during a christmas theme so to this day when playing KF2 with my cousin our call outs remain the same "reindeer from the ceiling!" "Nutcracker! Nutcracker!"
If there's one thing Tripwire is extremely good at, it's making guns feel satisfying to use. The sound design, animations and visceral feedback from hits on zeds are simply fantastic.
I used to play killing floor at my cousins house every thanksgiving cause he had a computer in the basement so around night time, I would ask him to unlock it and I would just play it on his pc for hours. It was my first zombie game outside the COD franchise and I loved it.
Still one of my personal favorite achievements in a video game ever: level 6 medic in KF. Back before there were guided heal darts, and you had to pull double-duty with the crossbow as a spare sharpshooter because MORE GUN.
I love killing floor 1 so much, I remember getting the physical copy as a kid because I read about it in a magazine and I had no idea about pc gaming whatsoever yet
The fact that I didn't notice the perks being strong, but rather went "Are those numbers really that overtuned?" when you pointed it out really shows how much playing Xenoblade and PoE has rotted my brain.
I wonder how many people have never heard about Killing Floor, and I feel sorry for them. Thanks for making this video and potentially introducing more people to this fantastic franchise.
Came here from the KF2 video, KF1 will always be my favorite but I can't wait for KF3!!!! My Dad religiously played and introduced it to me when I was maybe 10 or 11, here I am over 10 years later still going at it!
One of my best moments in KF was after they added the "Seeker Six" into the game. My brothers, some randos and I were battling the boss on London. He was going to hide for the heal and was already to far and to invisible for my teammates. (We were at the church and the Patriach was already in de doorway of the police station down the street) but I had my trusty Seeker six, denounced for the lower dmg compared to the rocket launcher, did it have something the RL didn't have. It locks on targets. and so knowing the general direction of the Patriach, I locked on fired all 6 missiles at once, watched as they traversed the street and killed the patriach in the building. A glorious moment that burned itself in my memories.
Killing Floor 2 was my jam back in the day! Can not eve fathom how many hours I played it and watched people play it on the RUclips of old. Those were the days!
There's one thing i wanna add to bricky's sponsor segment that is really good. Factor is EXTREMELY diabetic friendly. Tons of keto meals and they even have keto friendy snacks like cookies.
I probably sunk more than 1k hours in that game back in the day. Those modded servers were absolutely insane in the best possible way. Hell on Earth long with like 30-60 people on little big clot kitchen man.
Ah man. I loved playing Killing Floor. Running around knifing (not) zombies while listening to YTMND soundtracks and saving up money for pipe bombs for the final wave. Good times.
Wasn't expecting to see you make a video on Killing Floor but I'm that happy that you did, it's one of my favorite game series and I can't wait for Killing Floor 3 to come out eventually.
Killing Floor has been one of my most played coop games ever. KF1 had some insane modded servers that allow for new guns and new maps, and KF2's OST was the big reason I kept playing the game even though the game was just improved KF2 without mod support back then.

And don't get me started on the soundtrack. So many good memories with this game.
really good time to cover KF1 and touch on 2 because 3 is around the corner Im dying for its release date to be announced.
12:30 - I've been going about my transition all wrong. I'm not coming out, I'm prestige-ing into Woman
KF1 was apart of our game rotation in my IST class in high school. Such fun times
I watched my papa play this when I was younger... and now I play it and absolutely love it
As Killing Floor 1 is my favorite game, I am so glad a well-known RUclipsr has made a proper video covering the game and giving it the passion and love that is deserves.
Gotta say, that brit/knife joke was driven into the ground perfectly. I love it.
I didnt play KF until around 2015. The randos I jumped in with were awsome. Learned the ropes and had a blast all night.
12:45 im so glad i wasnt the only one thinking that
I wonder how many people have never heard about Killing Floor, and I feel sorry for them. Thanks for making this video and potentially introducing more people to this fantastic franchise.
They're called Zeds? There's truly nothing more terrifying than the British language.
Man, I remember playing this when it was still a mod for UT2k4.
Came here from the KF2 video, KF1 will always be my favorite but I can't wait for KF3!!!! My Dad religiously played and introduced it to me when I was maybe 10 or 11, here I am over 10 years later still going at it!
The guns in this game still sound SO GOOD. That classic early 2000's sound design that brings me back to games like BLACK and the original HALO.
I always thought that the shop keeper portrait looked like she's about to start crying. :D
Damn this takes me back, I love KF2, but KF was such a trip for me and my friends
i didnt expect bricky to put a video out about my favorite floor murduing franchise
Ah man. I loved playing Killing Floor. Running around knifing (not) zombies while listening to YTMND soundtracks and saving up money for pipe bombs for the final wave. Good times.
For my oldies that catwalk callout in WaW hit hard. In between rounds running to the box or perks covering each other....memories
Best soundtrack of any game i swear. Gived me the cod music easter egg vibe every time
ah yes another game set in apocalyptic Britain, this one is much less cold...
