I heard ovals are not that great + they don't have the license for the drivers. So you have the cars with the real livery but fictionnal name for the drivers... pretty disapointing

I love the way Ben is like the difficulty is too low but then is like 2.3 seconds of pole and can't cleanly do one race knowing the AI are slower than him, classic Ben
Ben, you should watch empty box' video on weight transfer since you are struggling so much with oversteer, I think it wil help you a lot, because this is more of a simulator than f1 2016 :P

and changing gear up to redline doesnt help will just lock the rear end @16:30
it won't lock with proper heel and toe technique.
rpm matching of engine and gearbox to avoid drag torque and locking tires. But when you only drive cars with sequential gearboxes and/or auto-blipping engines you'll just have problems with cars that don't have electronics that blip the gas for you.

Happy to see Knockhill included in the game, though I don't think anyone can really call it "International"! Seems pretty well modelled, down to the double bump at the start of the braking zone down into the hairpin. From the map I think you might come across the RallyCross circuit at some point in UK RX racing, so get used to the hairpin for the joker lap!
The actual layout is called Knockhill International, with the National circuit cutting across the tri-oval

the fact that you can actually save the car is a huge improvement to pcars1, every time you lost traction it felt like you had no chance of saving it in the first game
@Tiametmarduk - thanks for the indirect shout out at 16:22! Looks like you're doing better. That turn that you lost it at 16:32 looks awfully tricky, being an up-and-over right hander. That's going to unload the suspension as you peak on that hill. If you were to hit that with little steering input, I would imagine you may see some 4 wheel drift, and the car would eventually catch. Trying to put throttle input, and steering input over that turn would take numerous attempts. I found the hill in Lime Rock Park to be similar when hitting it with high powered real wheel cars.

5 years on and I have recently stuck this old PC2 disc in and OH yes. What an absolute fun boost. Yeh ok the FFB and all the funky stuff is still waiting on track, to throw spanners in your whees, but so much more fun and depth of gameplay than some of the front runners like AC/ACC, F1 and the like in my humble opinion.

NzLRyaNLzN you should see the British touring cars go through it, multiple rolls every year
It's pretty interesting in real life too, you can't carry anywhere near as much speed as you think, with the drop away losing you traction and the swing back for turn 2 meaning you can't use a lot of the track width.
You had cold tires in qualifying so by the end of it the AI had heat in them and set a faster lap. Need to warm up tires from blue to green (bottom left)

dont skip to the end in a session the ai gain shed loads of pace and sometimes are 4 seconds faster than the time they set before. that was a problem in pc1 seems like it has carried over to pc2
Hello Ben i started watching your Videos like a year ago and that was my starting point to get into Formula 1. Now I wanna start playing myself but i have now idea about breaking zones and stuff. Now i would really enjoy videos about every Track and talk about breaking shifting and excaleration. So please make videos about every track and go through corner by corner. The qualifying thing happened on the first game as well. If you retired from a session the AI would set impossibly quick lap times.

George Bristow Siri went off on 3 seperate devices when I recorded that today 😂😂 you'll notice there's a jump cut right after that cause Siri was speaking in stereo 😏
Getting better. Great car to get your feet wet in open wheel. Need to work at T1. Ease off the brakes a bit better to settle her down on the crest - car is super light there with 0 DF.

Another thing to consider is dropping your pressures. You lost all your tyre temp. Haven't played PC 2 but in the first one, losing tyre temp made you feel like you were on ice!!

It's the early downshifts that are causing them spins. Stay in second in the low speed corners and you'll be better off

From the map I think they have the RallyCross track there too. For a track that isn't well known, they have done a pretty good job with the accuracy of it, from the track surface to the local businesses.

The balance and weight transfer are tricky in Project Cars and takes time to adust in settings. Also depends on the wheel you have, if your lucky and buy a direct drive wheel that's helps but using a buggie type wheel you will be making adjustments.

You have to find the right setup for the track so you won't have all that oversteer and you'll probably gain at least a second
Timetmarduk, you have to wait for the tires to heat up :). Take out some pressure on tyres to help on that :)

What really broke the first game was when you had to redo the national championship in order to get into the regional/world championship if you renewed your contract, hopefully you shouldn't have to do that here.
