In the preview window when i try to check to see what difference im making to the glitch text, it doesnt change at all, when playing the video all i see is the technical difficulties screen, no animations or anything despite changing it. I cant see my text either , its like its ontop of it..
You have to follow the directions right to the letter, it will work I guarantee that. play the video back slowly and follow all the directions. It will work.
How do you slow down the speed of the glitch effect? I've tried event velocity, slowing down the tv bars, nothing works. I love the effect and pulled it off nicely in this video I'm working on,, I just think the glitching is too quick and twitchy.
so I am very grateful for this tutorial, however I did this after I already put in my other videos clips, and the clips got slightly saturated, and they lost a lot of their color, is there any way I can fix this? The clips didn't lose all their color but they are less colorful than they were before I followed this tutorial.

For some reason I don't have the composite mode button that you have here at 1:55. I'm running Vegas Pro 15, is there any reason why I don't have the composite mode button? And are there other ways to get to it?
When I get to the displacement Map and shift Horizontal and Vertical sliders there is no effect on the text. Going step by step. Any thoughts? Cursor is over text.
Hello, I am having a problem where if I have the intro before my videos the videos have a sort of gray filter on them instead of the normal bright colors before I put them in with the intro.

I'm making a video where the glitched text alternates with video footage, and the anaglyphic (red/cyan) is messing up the colors of the footage.
You have to follow the directions and do NOT miss anything or it will not turn out. Start again, and please follow the directions right to the letter. It will work.
Great video except mine does not display all the frames, it takes a while to load the frames and then it doesn't display the animation properly. Pls help!
You should not be experiencing any problems. Start over and follow the instructions to the letter don't miss out on anything and it should work. Try closing Vegas and restarting it, Vegas has bugs in it and sometimes you have to restart the program to fix it.
@@RonPrieston I found the solution. Just added the solid shadow for both text tracks. One is Red and the other Blue. One is on the left and the other is on right. Same effect and the whole project is all right

I used it and it worked the text looks awesome, I edited for hours and when i was finally done and tryed to render the video it the video zooms in at the top leaving an ugly black line at the top and you can't see the bottom. I found out it was because the glitch text. This happens when the composting mode is on "Custom" insted of "Source Alpha" Is this only for me or did others have this problem? I did use sony vegas pro 14 btw.
The first track must be custom so you can set the glitch effect. Have you tried saving the project then restarting Vegas? Sometimes Vegas gets unstable and it needs to be restarted. Follow the instructions right to the letter, slow the play back if it goes a bit to fast as you should be able to do this effect and render it as well. I have done it in Vegas 13 and 15.
I have tryed restarting Vegas multiple times but it don't work. But if i render the text only will it render with a transparent background so i can just put it on top of the video?

It will be laggy in the preview window but once rendered it will be smooth. Vegas Pro lags a lot in the preview window. I am uploading a new video tomorrow and the preview is laggy in the tutorial.

You need Vegas Pro. Movie Studio won't work.

Your video has to have a transparent background or the whole thing will be affected.

The only issue is if you want to use this video video, when you turn the project properties red/cyan, it turns your project black and white

You can make them longer but you can't slow them down. Maybe if you tried Time Stretch, hold the Ctrl key and see if stretching it makes a difference.

Render your project and then import it, you can't keep adding more media to that video.

Your best bet is to render the glitch video and import it back into Vegas. Then continue with your project.

About your description: Movie Studio doesn't allow you to change compositing mode to other than Source Alpha and Multiply.
I was not aware of that. Its been a long time since I use MS. Lots of Vegas Pro tutorials will for on MS. Thanks for pointing that out.

It has nothing to do with the format. Try closing Vegas, reopen the project an render again, sometimes Vegas messes up.

I don't think you can adjust the speed, only way I can think of it would be to render it and then use Time Stretch to make it slower.
If i add a video in the same project its black and white, any idea how to remove that?
Render it and then import it back into Vegas and continue your project,
Or try inserting a video track above it and go from there.
