I don't see it as radical as many of the other comments, but I think the show becomes more enjoyable when you first give your takes instead of trying to mainly debunk narratives angrily. It's fine to do that, but I think your content should mainly be your analysis and not restating what idiots think. Or maybe have a "comment of the week" segment where you lay into one stupid narrative/tweet/comment for 5 to 10 minutes but ignore community for the rest of the show Watched every episode, but things like format rants and fan grievances used to be a minor element and now they are the entire show and it a bit overplayed. Those things are like spice, they enhance the taste of a good meal, I don't wanna eat a ghost pepper though. Don't forget to serve a meal (analysis content)
Well said. I'm not sure if i'm getting tired of it or it is happening more. But It feels like Dom uses the podcast as therapy session sometimes. The same frustrating twitter/reddit comment overexplained covered as a joke.
Isn't dom the idiot? Isn't he the making up narratives? Like who says Faker didn't get criticised for worlds?? Faker got called a choker after 2022 worlds. Then he randomly talks about conspiracy theories(t1 patch)
them: "T1 benefited so much from the META change from the worlds' patch, that is why they are good at WORLDS" also them: "T1 is good at WORLDS cuz when the meta isnt favoring them they can go back to their comfort picks" me: HhhhhUUUHHH???
This is so hard to watch. I just wanna know their thoughts and insights about the game. But instead, it’s all about toxic fans, T1 this and that wtff 😵💫
I think yamato is too good to talk analytics about the game with dom and monte, the number of times he gets interrupted and he is the only one who talks to the point and being concise at the same time. Dgon you gotta do timers on the opnions and make sure the conversation and section of topics they talk about aligns
Well let's see, all the top comments are from non-toxic fans asking to please stop with the toxic fan content. Will they listen? Or do they actually love the toxic fans? Find out on the next episode of "Who is this podcast actually for?"
As a huge fan of monte and thorin since the beginning of their lol coverage, its tough to say but i think im about checked out at this point. I respect the work yall do to perpetuate accurate and compelling narratives and to push back against riot bs and saudi takeover, but it's just too much of the same condescending rants dominating shows week after week. Its ridiculous that we have to hear the exact same lines from si...this is not entertaining anymore. Not everyone is a hate watcher, i miss more thorough analyses of games with a more lighthearted banter and tone, which is why im loving lfn culture these days. A closing thought is that in this episode you clearly know that most of the dipshit 't1 fans' are just worlds casuals, and you question why they even care about who is the best player. I wonder why you dedicate so much time to those people at the expense of your fans who watch this channel and lol all year, im glad to see others commenting with the same feelings. All the best
because of dipshit morons like you coming out of the woodwork around this time of the year. it's all hamless banter either way but since you feel sometype of way about it clearly you feel personally attacked in this scenario so yeah, you're one of them bro.
I'm a big fan of the content about the game but it's becoming a bit jarring to watch when there's a lot of focus on complaining about 'toxic fans' in the community. I'm not usually on reddit/twitter so i don't usually see those kinds of comments and so this podcast just comes off as being super spiteful. Constructive analysis is great but it's weird when it just transitions into aggressive whining about what other people say. Hope you guys can get past this and deliver the content that people want to see more of in future
Yea I love all of them they are so great but the spite for what random fans say on Reddit is a little much. No one even goes on Reddit anymore and I don't even have a Twitter account so it's really not relatable and super niche I feel like. Hopefully we can get back to them just saying their opinions and not caring what others think
It's like they made this podcast mainly out of spite to T1 and T1 fans. Still did get some analysis but too much focus given to narratives that doesn't matter. Hard to watch
So GenG is the best team in the world… if the condition is perfect for them…? Sounds like a very big weakness to me. No one is gonna deny they’ve been the best team this year but to make these dogshit excuses. It’s like taking a sword to fight a war, fought with guns. Nobody is gonna wait for you to learn how to use a gun, when you should have known how to already in the first place. Again, no matter how much you say worlds is a bad format, EVERY SINGLE PRO wants to win this specific tournament.
He started to talk about Worlds being a bad tournament after LCK started to dominate it again. Especially T1. He had no problems when EDG was winning for example
"no one is going to deny" that's just false though, you've seen the fandom crowning T1 like they've always been the best team of 2024 because they won this last BO5, and btw that's how it's going to be forever. If you win Worlds you're the best team of that Year for the vast majority of fans.
Yamato killing it on the podcasts. Hard agree that the meta benefitted all teams in different ways, and the spotlight on T1 is just because it's T1. This meta favours BLG more than T1 100%.
I Agree! he finds the positive, or give you always some new perspective to pay atention to. With Thorin and Montecristo I get the feeling that no matter what, they will always push a negative narrative.
@@StraightUpOnGod It's not unbiased, it's just different opinion, when the opinion you agree on doesn't make it unbiased. What i think, Keria is hugely benefit from the sup meta right now, the tank leona etc meta is going away which is affecting ON performance, also you could argue Keria playstyle is more creative, but on traditional enagage sup meta ON is better. As far as other lanes, this meta favours BLG and T1 equally
I enjoy LFN content for the most part but it gets a bit tiresome to hear how there are dumb T1 fans for the 1000th time I would like to hear more about the games
@@8dolfonrunescapeit's funny, the only times I get rabid T1 fans in my feed is when I listen to videos of people insulting T1 fans for an entire podcast. It is as of this was, rage bait, to try to get some more views. But whatever. Yamato own analysis video's shall do as content, because this ain't about the game.
took them about 3 seconds to bitch about T1 fans 😂 The funniest thing is they say that the T1 fans spreading these narratives do not watch much league but they feel the need to debunk narratives from these nobodies who "don't know anything about league". Bro those opinions don't matter but It's almost like you have to engage with them and mention them every single video so you can get more views and interactions. 🤷🏻♂️
It's mostly annoying for them to see these objectively false narratives being the agreed consensus from people who clearly don't care and don't invest as much time watching the games as them. I get that feeling but Lolesports has been this way since forever, I'm surprised they still didn't get over it
I am tired of their whining about the "narratives" I watch every piece of content LFN puts out and even watch Dom and Monte's streams. It's overplayed now. I want analysis and their based takes on the game. Not them half of the time just complaining
How about making a different show about “debunking” wrong narratives and give us a show about the actual game not complaining about other fans for 70% of the show. It’s tiring.
its starting to get tiring to be honest they can choose to ignore fans glazing cause their teams is winning but nopeeeeeeeeeeee lets put a video talking about them but put a different title on it
You would just type "you're just a hater" or "what a shit take", nothing good is coming from any of you just look this week's comments everywhere you go, It's like someone posts something and there's over 500 comments and 90% has keyword t1 or faker
@@RumandCocaine I get it but it would be better if they made a separate show talking about dumb fans. Not ruin the immersion of the show because they talk shit about a fan every chance they get.

Don’t get why they consistently need to shit on the tournament format. What is the point? Most sports tournaments run like this (eg. fifa world cup). You know what the format is so as a team coming to compete, no matter how youve been playing during the year, you should come prepared to perform at your best level at this tournament, can’t keep putting blames on format/luck for certain teams not winning.
they don't like the format because it's made for casual fans and not hardcore fans. using the same format as physical sports is not a good thing, because esports players don't have the same limitations (like getting injured or tired) ie double elim NFL playoffs world be ducking amazing but it's impossible
Monte saying people seek to validate their opinions is the height of irony and arrogance He spends half his content defending his opinions or backtracking when he’s wrong Yes confirmation bias and cognitive dissonance exist, but Monte would be so much better if he could see his own
Monte and thorin spends their time creating narratives then complains when people use narratives to defend their bullshit it's beyond hilarious. Bros are biased as fuck
Indeed… Their MO is to create stupid strawmen that don’t exist so that they can elevate themselves when they discredit strawmen arguments that they created themselves
I’m glad other people have noticed that. They create strawmen then discredit it to elevate themselves Monte and Thoorin are smart entertaining dudes They could do so much better though if their egos would get out of their way

Yeah. Early than this IWD was going on about how the patch hurt Chovy by nerfing Yone and Smolder. Yone is the second highest priority champ this Worlds, and Chovy picked Smolder (who is 4th highest PB of mid champs) in game 5 vs FLY.
@@derekmarshman6154What makes you think you know league more than me? I gave u reasoning behind my thoughts, maybe you can do that too? just like a proper human being :)
There are plenty of reasons why this Worlds isn't a T1 meta and it's impressive they managed to adapt to it this quickly, but the most fundamental point is the best teams shape the meta around them. Of course these numbskulls don't understand that and I'm just glad that all of them are in the same place so I don't need to watch. Kinda sad though, this channel could've been the true "Last Free Nation" exposing Esports orgs and their dodgy dealings, bringing to light some of the issues most people wouldn't know about and seeking some sort of justice for victims. Instead it's basically turned into a shelter for toxic content creators to validate their toxicity off each other and breed their cesspit of haters.
So let me check if I got it correctly. So Dom's explanation on the T1 win is: Gen G was not in good form because Worlds' format is not conducive for them due to reasons like low scrim quality and no time to practice cause of the travel and media days etc etc. BUUUUUTTTT these reasons not only doesn't apply to "scrappier teams" like BLG/T1, but also it works well for them? Cause T1 is a team that works well on low practice? Really? This is the explanation? No wonder at 1:19:05 Montecristo started joking around that maybe t1 fans were behind the DDOS attacks cause it will make T1 win cause they excel on low practice! and you can see Dgon's cant-take-it-anymore reaction while Dom still legit explaining himself. LOL 😂🤣😝
You realise they were both memeing about the DDOSing right? Like Dom was joking as well, because the point is T1 typically do better in shorter tournaments with less practice because they can just pick whatever and force fights. As Yamato said Worlds is random, they deal better with randomness than a team like GenG that needs more structure. Or do people actually think T1 just sandbag the entire year because they only care about worlds?
@ Because worlds is a shorter tournament than the rest of the year… like that’s not a hard concept. You realise worlds has less games than every other tournament in the cycle… right? And it’s only on one patch so they adapt really quickly compared to a team like GenG who need more time to prep. Worlds is entirely different to the rest of the year.
I dont get the DOM over forcing on somehow this being more of a T1 patch? Guma cant play ezreal or kaisa. He himself does not rate faker that well on sylas, akali or ahri or yone He has repeatedly said Keria cant play engage supports or normal supports (the meta is engage support) Zeus isn't even a jax player. It is possible Doran is better on that champ than him. It isnt even a carry top meta This is Oner's comfort meta but this is the same jg meta that was in spring and a lot similar to the jg meta from past 2 years Sounds more like a BLG meta
Same bro. I understand if its oner. But the ad mid meta is being nerfed throughout the regular season. People just hate for the sake of hating nowadays since its their brand.
These guys always contradict themselves lol. Next time you'll see another reason why T1 doesn't deserve winning worlds. Anything to discredit what T1 does
Blg(with Wei) stomped the whole LPL in ad mid patch, T1 struggled in the same patch, ranked 3 or 4 in the LCK.BLG actually did really well in both patches while T1 clearly favors this patch.
This is sarcasm right? Faker has been killing it on Ahri and Sylas plus his alkali game was fire. Keria is literally the best support on engage supports. Dom is just hating.
Guys I really enjoy watching you but you have become somewhat paranoid with T1 and Faker. You are trying so hard to prove the T1 stans wrong that you are starting to do the same thing as them and just blindly try to find reasons to undermine them. Give credit where it’s due, because this team transformed though hard work cause in summer they were shit, so let’s embrace this transformation and enjoy the finals.
@@loke2821 thats what im saying. i like dom before since despite his hate for teams e.g. t1 and fnc, he still gives credit where the credit is due. blindly hating and looking for angles to discredit someone doesn't make you look better than the t1 stans man.

I dont understand how you can give Gen G every excuse in the book, and say all these things as to why they arent performing well. But T1 gets everything theyve been doing diminished, and that they were getting all of these advantages heading into the tournament. Or theres some sort of conspiracy about Riot helping them out behind the scenes. Then you start throwing in about how bad the tournament is and why thats not conducive to the best league. Then make more excuses for Gen G and why they are still the best team. Why even play the tournaments man?
Yeah when T1 wins it's always their opponents underperforming, choking, collapsing etc, not by their own merit. When T1 loses: OMG DOWNFALL HAHAH DOWNFALL.
@Potatoes85858 I know I'm going to get people coming at me, but it's getting old. They literally talked more about excuses for Gen G and how being at Worlds isn't good, even though all the teams are in the same situation. Then they focused on how bad the tournament is and how that doesn't help them either. Like what is it? Just give them the trophy, I'm just so tired of hearing about it. Maybe they are just better in these long tournaments. It just really bothers me because all they do is cut down how good T1 have played and all the adjustments they've made. They get no credit, it's all Gen G underperfomring and the tournament works against their playstyle.
When teams lose Worlds to T1: tournament format just bad. Dom: scapegoat x griefed it so hard bro. T1 not the best team in the world because they struggled the rest of the year. EWC not a real tournament. When T1 lose to DRX: Faker too old, T1 choke, DRX went playins to winning finals, the Cinderella run. Unhinged fans and hypocrite haters.
World is not the only tournament in a year. People only focus on world because it’s called World. Geng won MSI. How many people actually praise them for being the best team? They don’t have nearly as many fans as T1 in Korea. Are those fans praise Geng when they won MSI? Or when blg beats T1? Most people still biased towards T1 coming in to this tournament even they performed so bad in regional. Why can’t Streamers like Dom have his own bias opinion? If it weren’t for T1 fans being so toxic towards other teams and talk down on other teams. Maybe dom wouldn’t hate T1 as much.

This has become so tiresome, just listening to them flame the toxic fans, all 100 of them. There used to be good banter at last free nation, and it was enjoyable analysis, but now it feels so toxic. No one who watches league truly believes chovy is bad. SI and last free nation have been my favorite content creators for years, now they are just flaming and embracing the toxcicity. As a fan of faker from season 3 i understand he is not the same now, and is far behind chovy domestically.
youre wrong. Chovy is getting so much flame and its not juist a loud minority. I agree though i think they should talk more about the games and less about the fans
@@JerryReyesbut chovy has been hyped as the best midlaner and best player coming into worlds for some time now. Isn't it normal for that type of player to get held to higher standards? It's not true that faker didn't get criticised before for losing worlds. In 2022, he went to finals but he still got called a choker. At that point faker wasn't even being called the best player in 2022 and he still got criticised. Faker went to finals of worlds and he still got criticised. Faker has previously won worlds but he still got called a choker. So why is it abnormal if chovy gets criticised now. Also, it's not even chovy with the most criticism. That is lehends Another example is doublelift. Didn't he also get criticised for not winning any trophies before he started winning them and filling up his trophy cabinet? Why is it so abnormal to scrutinize players with excellent reputations who did not manage to win trophies? Hasn't that been the case for a while now?
@@Diya-dg6ur Because chovy has managed to win trophies. Lots of them. He just hasnt won worlds. It would make more sense if he was the reason they were losing games but hes not. when did i say that faker didnt get criticized? Faker admittedly didnt have a great series in 2022 finals. He had also had bad performances since 2016 and was the reason they lost to samsung galaxy. Up until that point there was reason enough to believe that Faker was either choking or washed. He hadnt shown he was a great player consistently domestically or internationally for a long time. Chovy has shown he is a great player for 5 years and has only one stain on his resume which is not winning worlds. Its not that people are just saying he is a choker. People acting like hes not good to begin with. They are hating on chovy simply because they feel threatened by people who say Chovy is probably just as good as faker skillwise. And no, the amount of hate faker received is not nearly the same as chovy. People back then just thought that he was done for and washed but still respected his legacy. People dont even acknowledge Chovy's career because most people think worlds is the end all be all of pro play. Chovy is by far getting more criticism than lehends even though legends solo lost them the series. I dont think you can argue otherwise. Analysts all agree that it was lehends but the community doesnt care. they even blame chovy for his teammates always underperforming and say hes a bad leader or that people are coping. Its not abnormal to criticize players who have not performed to expectations. You should put Chovy under a microscope just like Faker SHOULD have been put under a microscope in 2022. That's not the problem. The problem is discrediting a players year-long performance and having a simplistic view like loss=choking.
@@JerryReyes worlds is pretty much the tournament that matters tho. and if you think that is ludicrous then i will remind you that even pros say this. he is touted to be the best player. typically people want to see the best player to do more than just fine. people also want to see the x factor and he doesnt seem to have that(at least till now. maybe will see later in one year). frankly, chovy didnt play very well in the quarters either. waittt since 2016?? what are u talking abt? in 2016 he was a very big reason for their win at worlds cuz kuro kept getting dismantled by faker. in 2017, he had standout performances in games with rng and msf which are still talked abt to this day. faker did play very well in 2017 worlds overall except for the finals. tho it is true that he did not play very well that single series. in 2022, he played very well in the match that helped them qualify into finals and chovy hasnt even shown that he can win worlds. so its not that he hasnt won for a long time. unlike faker, chovy has never won worlds. heading into 2022 worlds, faker wasnt even in the top 5 midlaners in people's lists like caedrel. so does it make it sense to say that he choked? didnt he actually play better compared to his expected performance? in contrast, didnt chovy play worse? isnt it more justifiable to call chovy a choker in this case? and isnt there a reason to believe chovy chokes considering that he doesnt really play like he does in lck at worlds? how many times has he gone to worlds and how many times has he lost? even in this years quaterfinals match, i cannot say that chovy was the reason they won and managed to get to semis. and remember the context is that chovy is considered to be the best player. like i mentioned before. worlds IS the biggest tournament and he has not performed at the biggest stage. in fact he has had pretty bad performances in the past in worlds. people say chovy is a better laner than faker tho. what are u on about??? do u want me to show heavily upvoted reddit posts and comments talking abt how chovy is the better laner? and personalities also say the same things. why are u acting like dom and making up narratives now? (personally, i think faker is a better player than chovy however. frankly if there was supposed to be a successor to faker, then i would have preferred showmaker. he had a good mix of faker's playmaking capabilities and chovy's laning capabilities. but unfortunately he got burned out. being a good player and being a good laner is not the same thing in my mind. is chovy a much better laner than faker in my mind? definitely.) when have u ever seen people not acknowledge chovy's abiliities. u do realise that part of the reason why chovy has the "chovy cs" meme is because he is almost always ahead of cs compared to the other laner. (the other part being that people think is too focussed on csing) worlds IS the end all be all of pro play in the minds of both the audience, the pro players AND riot games. no that is not true. lehends is getting more criticism. also, wasnt there a highly upvoted chovy defense post on reddit as well? do u just forget abt that part? where is lehends defense post? nowehere. why do u think that is? how can u then say that the community didnt care abt lehends doing bad? was faker considered the best player coming into worlds for 2022? or even the best midlaner? faker was criticised in 2022 tho! why are you saying should? why act as if he didnt get criticised? because that is how it has always been? not all matches have the same weight. and that is the truth of it. let me give an example- who do u think the most popular players in lpl are/were? why do u think they are so popular? (hint- its because of their international results. particularly worlds)
@@Diya-dg6ur Its is the most important tournament. Its not the only important tournament. MSI is very important and arguably does a better job at producing the best team because of double elim+higher quality of practic, and it usually has a more stable meta. Is it the only one? no but worlds only watchers ignore it even exists. I dont want to have to read and write paragraphs. lets stick to one point at a time. for clarification, when I said 'since' i was takling about AFTER 2016. not the one they won
I think it’s actually really easy to talk about T1’s sudden resurgence during worlds while also talking about how Gen G. maybe didn’t look as cohesive as a team. To Dom’s point- if Gen G had more time on the patch, obviously they would figure it out, but that’s just not how worlds has ever really worked. Whether or not that’s a good or bad thing is up to the viewer.
That was such a dumb logic from Dom. GenG was operating under the exact same rules as the other teams. If anything, they had more time to prepare for the Worlds patch than T1 did because T1 had to run the regionals on the playoffs patch and GenG ended the split earlier. Also the SoloQ argument is such a bullshit given that in every 2 weeks in LCK, they scrim on different patch for stage games than the live patch. Only LCS had live patch in stage among major regions. It's insane that no one called him out on his frivolous points
It's the other fucking way around. Geng has never figured patches out, they just brute forced patches. That's why they win msi and regional splits, because there isn't enough time (or incentive) to figure out the patches for those tournaments deep enough to beat a team like GenG. Even if it were possible, is it worth it if it might compromise your overall performance in the next split/tournament? T1 is like a Jojo character, they outsmart you then outsmart your outsmarting when you try. GenG is someone who'd watch you try to get smart and just punch your face and win, but their problem is that when their punch gets parried or dodged they have nothing else in the tank. Chovy can play any champs, but he plays all of them the same way.
@@foiguramu Because the logic had no issues. Gen G typically takes more time to adjust to new meta shifts. He has said many times T1 adjusts the fastest to meta shifts usually with the exception of the adc mid meta. SoloQ argument is not bullshit at all as well. Yes obviously in LCK they scrim on different patch than the live patch. Usually patches make a few minor small changes. The patches that have come to the game after the worlds patch are absolutely massive and completely change the meta to a different direction entirely. The difference between current live patch and worlds patch is FAR bigger than what the difference normally is between lck patch and live patch. Gen G probably had more time than T1 to prepare for the meta shifts, but nobody actually knew what the meta would be coming to worlds and the different meta reads are tested during the event. T1 had a better meta read than GenG as they always have when they have less time to prepare. GenG refines over longer period of time and becomes the best team. T1 is much better at improvising because theyre a scrappy fighting team, unlike GenG which is a very refined and conservative control team. Of course they had the same rules as everyone else, Dom is simply saying that other teams are better at other things. And the worlds environment suits T1 and their style perfectly. I dont understand how you guys think its a crazy take when FAKER HIMSELF said coming to worlds that "Worlds is our home ground" and said that theyre very familiar and comfortable at worlds. Which is literally exactly what Dom said as well. Surely you understand this, you dont seem to be an idiot after all.
It is a really bad take. Worlds really has been like this for years and it’s not like the meta shifted far from what they were good at. They’re still one of the best in this patch. Ad mids got nerfed but ain’t chovy supposed to have a champion ocean? Kiin champs are still strong, Canyon still have his jungle champs, peyz is great on kaisa/ez which guma is not, and keria is not picking the meta engage champs
@@yihadistxdl951 In a video he said that worlds take so long that T1 win cause they can dissect the meta and that they are bad at MSI cause it is way shorter. Now he says longer tournament is better for GENG and not T1. Also all the evidence shows that T1 are the ones that need time to figure it out.
Dom, if my memory serves me correctly, you said once that T1 bad performance at MSI is do to fact that MSI is shorter tournament than Worlds and they don't have enough time to adapt to the meta. So what are you talking about now? T1 is good only because GenG can't play this format or what, i really don't understand?
Yeah and what exactly contradicts what he stated here? Worlds is 2 months on the same patch while MSI lasts less then 1 month. GenG not performing to their LCK standards was attributed to the lack of good quality practice, because their gameplay is very reliant on crispyness of macro and rotations.
Dom talking about ZOFGK being dumb is why he will and never could own an esports org. ZOFGK is the reason T1 is the most profitable esports org there is today, you think Faker’s influence alone can sell out merchandise for other members? Its the ZOFGK branding that is raking in the profits because they can sell every single member in a variety of products ranging from tees to facial care. And that is the single reason why they might be kept together again. Winning worlds does not pay the org as much as having popular members do
@@offthegrid777 exactly! Each member has their own fans and this creates huge marketing for T1! It is no longer Faker’s T1, it is ZOFGK’s T1 and they like those odds!
You clearly dont listen. They dont hate on winning. They hate on fans who are just idolising T1. Everyone aknowledges T1 outplayed GenG and faker is playing better now than he has all summer. But what pisses them off is t1 fans pretended they were good all year and pretend faker is solo carrying. Guma and keria are having a heater worlds and all fans talk about is faker. Open yoir ears to nuance. Youre part of the problem with this comment. But i agree with most comments that im personally tired of hearing this podcast complain about them for so long. They need to refocus on talking about the games and relevant stuff rather than braindead fan takes. Its gettig rather toxic on their end.
Interesting how Gen G supposedly lost because they had an off day where they were trolling and the game itself was patched more in T1's favour but somehow at the same time Gen G completely dominated T1 in game 2 in their usual fashion we've seen all year with no problems but then someone magically flips a switch and they must be trolling again surely T1 can't just have done something good to win the series right? One day they might realize they engage in the exact same behaviour as the T1 fans they hate so much just on opposite sides lol. both sides just get so mad at each other that they continue to put the other side down more which is how we end up with all these takes discrediting Chovy and T1 and they hype themselves up more and more leading to more unreasonable fanatacism.
just got here after 20 mins of being uploaded. let me know if majority of the video is calling t1 fans dumb + t1 got carried by the patch + worlds is the worst tournament because its not double ellim. ill finish watching later after work. thanks
Weird, the way Dom puts it, everyone cannot get a good amount of practice, so that the team that is more used to having "less practice" has an advantage...like that train of logic is so forced. Another way of looking at is is that T1 is an instint-driven team that players better by feel, and GenG is the analytical team that needs more reps, they need to play more games to perform better. Well unfortunately Dom like u said, Worlds is slow enough, we don't have 4-5 more weeks of games for GenG to lock in, it's Worlds, where the winner is often decided by who's having a better performance day. That's the hype, anyone has a chance
Especially when you stop and think twice about the fact that they are not used to be working in low practice. For the past 3-4 years of this roster only this year have they been exposed to DDOS, which was not supposed to be heard as an excuse for people in this show but now it is perfectly fine to bring this excuse for Gen G and use the DDOS handicap as a benefit for T1 looking good at worlds. This is just dreadful lack of self-awareness by Dom and Monte
I hate how they sarcastically always say "but worlds is the most important tournament of the year, rest of the season don't matter" Like it's the most prestige tournament that have been going in the same format for 14 years. It's like when you compare to NBA, I will take 1 NBA Finals ring over 5 ECF/WCF titles. Is it T1's fault they just show up to the most important tournament of the year which the whole world is watching? SHOCKING.
worlds is 1 month man. Sure, it is the event of the year bla bla bla. But ppl act like it's the only thing in the year. Try saying JDG was the best team of 2023 and see how many rabid T1 fans you get going "oh then why didn't they win worlds? 🥸"
@@DarkorbitForever12 sorry but that’s just how ruthless team sports is, if you don’t win a ring in basketball it doesn’t matter what your regular season standings are, showing up in the final tournaments is also a skill in itself
1:43:07 if Faker was hailed as the best mid player in the world coming into Worlds then yeah. I think he'll be called a choker. He's the GOAT but alot of people didn't even have Faker in the top 5. He was running it down in Summer and T1 as a whole was terrible. So if Keria was running it down. Yeah Keria will be probably be the target of criticism but I don't think Faker would be called a choker cuz no one really had expectations of Faker with how his form was coming into Worlds.
The same people who pushed the "Shaker" narratives back in 2019 now are trying everything to protect Chovy from the chockers narrative. The same will be talked in the next week about Knight if T1 win.
Heck it will be par for the course if Faker lost to Gen G and "choked" it. Everyone expected Gen G to beat T1, even now some don't feel confident with T1 as much. Both Faker and Chovy played Sylas and Ahri and the difference is night and day. Gen G's playstyle lends to consistency over a long period of time, which works well in the normal seasons where there is little pressure and you can try to force your own tempo and losing games don't matter as much.
Now just a real question: Who cares about Reddit and random ‘t1’ Twitter fan comments? Is this a NA thing? In Europe I know no one who uses Reddit frequently tbh… Just block/ignore those guys if they cross lives and focus on the real content :)
1:52:08 Well.. if you're gonna rant about that one maybe do some.. I don't know.. research maybe? If you read ZOFGK in English then it doesn't roll off the tongue really well but in Korean it's 제오페구케 (Je-O-Pe-Gu-Ke) and it's a lot more cooler to say. Honestly there was a lot of bad takes on this one but I don't want to start an argument so I'll just choose to point out this silly one 😂
@@aleksandargrbic100I'm worried about ON lol. ON has been running it down. It was 3-0 against WBG but ON made it closer than it should have an T1 capitalizes on these tiny mistakes and take it miles
2022 MSI, LCK fans complain that playing on 35 ping undermines competitive integrity LPL fans: losers, nothing's wrong with the tournament. It's fair because it's the same. Worlds 2024 Dom and Monte: Worlds format bad and it favors T1. T1 fans: ???

@@TheAngelFolly I use to watch dom's vods because he does have a good eye for the game and is entertaining. @chsunny2750 it's a cycle. He gets triggered by unhinged fans or trolls so he trolls them on stream and they troll him when T1 win. Watch him almost have an aneurysm because someone said Chovy can't compete with Faker. It's clearly trolling or a fan speaking from emotion rather than logic and they all act like it's every T1 fan
@@TheAngelFolly I saw that on stream and here too. Either that fan was just trolling or it does not watch more than 3 hours of esports per year. But watch them using him as the flag holder for all the T1 fans around the world. Truly sad
@쿨이에요유니티 i'd say that's just faker's aura. faker can do a decent play and everyone will hype it up. if he messes up, then everyone on his head still. heavy is the head....
Man. RIOT keeps RIGGING tournaments for T1. Before MSI 2022, they nuked TF, Lee, Jinx, and Jayce while buffing Kaisa and Tristana! Before MSI 2023 they nuked double ADC bot lanes And this worlds clearly T1 (not BLG) loves a meta with Ahri, Sylas, Yone, Jax, Ezreal, Kaisa as tier1 picks!
It is true they’ve changed the meta favorably for T1 the last 3 World Championships (not MSI) and this is definitely the biggest reason for the Worlds glowups. Is it intentional or nefarious? At this point I’m a little suspicious, but I’m pretty sure teams like GenG just abuse new systems or champs (ADC mids, Zeri, Smolder, etc.), those things ruin the viewer experience, and Riot subsequently nerfs them. I think it’s moreso Riot likes to see the things T1 is good at at Worlds. Also, I find it amusing that prior to the tournament I was arguing with T1 fans who were saying T1 was going to perform because the meta massively changed in their favor (I thought it favored BLG more - in hindsight we were both right lmao). And now that T1 succeeding, I’m arguing with T1 fans who say that the patch changes didn’t help or even hurt them. Shows that the arguments aren’t particularly intellectually honest and are just proceeding from “how can I make T1 look good.”
@@podefunderWtf are you talking about? The meta changed because people were complaining about adc mid being meta lmfao, stop talking out of your ass.
I may agree with yone and only yone. Every midlaner is sick with ahri so you just cant single out t1. Sylas is not something you see faker plays every friday like azir and guma isnt good with kaisa and ezreal so? Rigging? That is so low of you to think that.
Is Dom okay? Like legit. Such graphic descriptions about self harm. I hope he's okay? Maybe consider a content warning at the start of the show if he's going to constantly talk like that.
u didnt see the massive thread with T1 Fans getting mad at an analysis video from Gen G over their loss. Their was legit almost over 500k tweets from T1 fans about that.
Crazy how similar this episode was to last year's when T1 beat JDG hahaha. Now we have Dom saying that Riot intentionally made a patch to help T1's run! Not to mention how he thought T1 was gonna win this series, even though he predicted otherwise on the last show and in Caedrel's stream, where he said that they would only lose to teams that are better than them, like GenG and BLG. Can't wait for next week!
Thinking that T1 would win the series is not mutually exclusive with saying that T1 only lose to teams better than them. It just means he thinks T1 stomps any teams that are worse and that BLG/GEN are better on paper.
He said T1 COULD only lose to those teams. Not that they would lose to them. He predicted T1 win because GEN has a history of choking at worlds and because T1 clearly improved their form for worlds, it was clear since early tournament. Also Dom didnt say that riot made a patch to help T1, he literally mentioned about other people saying a lot that riot did that and he made a meme about it. Its so easy to criticize people and clown on their takes when you put words in their mouth on purpose and then clown on bad takes they never even said in the first place. Very cheap.
How can four adult men (especially two) get so triggered by a couple of 16-teen year old edgy T1-Fans, up to a point where they lose any sort of objectiveness themselves, atleast when they talk about T1. I usually value your opinion alot, but at this point it is so unwatchable.
People acting as if all criticism comes from T1 fans...but Nah, I just KNOW that these guys could be so much better and it makes me sad that they turned into these caricatures. Dom especially has so much knowledge and is great at breaking down stuff or explaining the history of lol...but the man just has so much hate for a few fans that he has developed some cognitive dissonance and gets locked in the same arguments over and over again. Dom focused while casting a game is peak leagueoflegends...but too often he rants about some comments from random idiots or is forced to talk about ball sweat with cretins like Gillius. Similar with Monte. At some point after the Remillia fiasco or maybe only after his disastrous Overwatch career has gone up in flames and he was forced to return to leagueoflegends, it feels like he has to constantly posture and make himself look extra superior and extra smart. As if he lost his place in the community and is lashing out by turning his old (fun) smug persona up to 500%. Monte was the snot nosed, smug asshole that always knew better...but it didn't really feel serious when Locodoco was there, laughing with him while defending some of the stupid takes that were under attack. Now Monte has to build up his imaginary Loco up in his mind, so that he can tear him down and show everyone how smart he is. All while acting as if the great Monte and his friends are the only ones that can see through the darkness and deliver the forbidden knowledge of "Chovy is good". When listening to Monte talk, it makes you believe that LFN is this sanctuary of truth and that the rest of the community is delusional...all while they attack strawman after strawman. I feel like Monte, Dom and Thorin are stuck in the past. Imprisoned by their own online personas...and I seriously hope that at some point they can grow again. Take a look at Richard Lewis and learn from him. He is abrasive as well, but he isn't looking for drama and controversy just for the sake of it...
I think people call Chovy names becouse casters call him the best player non stop and push his narration every game, so people just naturaly push back (especialy because he didn't achieve enought to bo called the best in people's eyes)

This T1 hate has become so cringe, first they beat “the greatest team of all time JDG” then they beat the other “greatest team of all time GenG” how about showing some respect to them this is so annoying, also the reason why chovy looks good on the numbers is cause he takes grasp and sidelines all game where’s the skill in that? Faker takes electrocute and makes plays he’s so much better than chovy when it comes to carry potential other than chovy on smolder
Glad Montecristo is trying to build up other players to make more narratives but when you try to always justify t1 being ass and they always perform at worlds it kinda proves that you don’t see the bigger picture outside of lck
I would say GenG is probably the best team when they feel the most prepared for any given event. I think when a meta feels unsolved and more in the open and more chaotic, GenG struggle more. T1 aside from the AD meta we just saw, can just lock in and play their normal game the best when metas are at their most open. I think previous discussions have talked about how GenG likes to play the most picture perfect league possible. That kind of style requires metas to be properly analyzed or studied along with having the players that can keep up that style consistently. This also means that anything outside the prep of GenG can catch them off guard which might be why teams like DK or FlyQuest in this QFs have thrown them for a loop. I don't want to give them excuses about the 3-0 swiss because they had the most time to prepare for QFs. They had ample time to look into what picks could work out for them in the bracket stage. At the end of the day, they weren't the team that looked like the tournament favorites. It's easy to say that GenG are arrogant, but considering what TES did to them at EWC it kinda sticks out.
I love LFN as a platform, but I'm kind of with the folks in the comments. I'm tired of hearing about "toxic T1 fans" every time T1 is in the discussion. I watch a lot of league content and I literally never see any of this toxicity they're complaining about. Maybe it's reddit threads? If so, the team needs to just stay away from reddit. It's not representative of the community as a whole. I get that T1 superfans can be annoying to deal with, but literally half of this entire episode was complaining about T1 fans and taking every opportunity to make excuses for why T1 isn't better than GenG despite beating them in convincing fashion. Were GenG better during regular season? Yeah, they sure were - but this isn't regular season. GenG was playing badly. Chovy was playing badly - but the crew has gone so anti-T1 in their "analysis" lately that they are doing the exact things they are complaining that the toxic T1 fans do. They're overlooking all of the bad of GenG, making excuses based on tournament format, meta changes, double agents, etc. It's the same narrative EVERY time T1 starts doing well. It obviously can't be that they were just better. I started watching this network because it has some of the best analytical minds when it comes down to breaking the game down and explaining macro decisions, item choices by players, what they might be thinking - but the channel is not that anymore. More than half of the content is GenG fanboyism and T1 fan complaints. If this is gonna be the quality of content from now on, I'll just not watch it anymore. There are plenty of other good analysts now that don't sit and complain when their favorite team lost and try to discredit the other team.
GenG was pathetic because it feels like they came in with 0 prep : - wasted ban on kalista when BLG showed the previous day how you can completely nullify kalista by outranging her in teamfights - wasted ban on xayah to let ashe open for Guma when Ashe has always been a key pick for T1 over the last 3 years as adc or support. It offers lane control and midgame deep vision and engage, which is what T1 playstyle revolves around. - picked Renekton into Ashe G1, laneswap and renek gets bullied into being utterly useless in early game which is his only strength. - picked Nocturne G3, Noc is like 0-7 since quarters, I guess GenG staff didnt have the data. - picked double adc+nidalee into Jax/Skarner ????? And yeah Chovy came in "for the greatest challenge of his life" with ahri, sylas, tristana. On the brink of elimination he picks TRISTANA. Into jax/skarner. They could have banned ashe+renata every game, they couldve challenged Faker to play Aurora, they could've abused T1 drafts which are often low on damage with ashe/ahri by picking tanky comps Galio/Ksante, scaling comps with Jinx or Kassadin or Ryze or anything really. But they did nothing. Came in with the most basic-vanilla picks ever to play right into T1 hands. And if Chovy thinks of himself as a leader that's on him. Then if he wants to be the guy who picks Tristana because his coach told him so and then "wow I won lane with trist why are we losing ???", well maybe hes just not meant to be a leader of any kind. Pathetic.
MAN! Crazy how lucky T1 is! In 2022 EDG, RNG, JDG has COVID. 2023 BLG, LNG, and JDG choked (Weibo only in the finals cuz BLG choked again) 2024 TES and GENG choked! We all know JDG is the best team of all time. They didn’t luck into the picture perfect meta for them at MSI. NOPE!
Imagine gen.g was on the golden road having won msi with zeri yuumi meta like jdg did, dom would be bringing it up at least once every episode to discredit them
The hatefest against T1 fans only took 3mins to start. Must be a record for this production. Well done lads. I feel for DGON, an LCK caster, having to sit through that. I also feel for any sponsors of this production.
This podcast was 20% about how to descredit T1, 20% shitting on their fans, 10% trying to convey that u dont hate t1 but their fans. It was funny the first few times but this year every episode consists the same formula. Just get over the fans u give them so much attention.

Yamato has been such a huge blessing to the show and balances out the ranting with different perspectives and experiences that actually engage with the topic. Yamato gets interrupted way to often, and gets cut off for the first hour whenever he was coming to his final point. It might be because Yamato speaks in a smoother cadence than Dom or Monte, but just because he pauses does not mean he's finished his thought. As a long time viewer, i was expecting this episode to be entirely about worlds, and its disappointing to see that things like format changes and fanbases take up so much time of the episode. Please, do not make the price of correcting narratives the viewers that you have worked so hard to make.
I just want to hear yamato only , he is the mature one in this podcast , can't take any analysis or takes from this show now , complete apparent bias , fake narratives , just straight up unwatchable.
I hate this elitelist mentality some of these casters/analysers have. The player age range for the game is 13+ (probably players/fans much more younger) they're literally engaging and getting triggered by children. The same kids keeping them employed and giving you something to talk about...
First they criticise about the group stage format for Worlds then they criticise about the Swiss stage format and now they criticise the single elim format for playoffs which by the way is literally the most tried and tested method across most sports if not all competitive sports. I hope T1 wins on Saturday just to piss them off even more.😂
I think with Faker's injury too and after T1 getting that partnership with the hospital they have a PT with them at all times which also helps with his injury so lessens the effects of the injury. and with the slower schedule as Monte said. But, makes me wonder how will it go once he gets to MSI where there is a lot more bo5s unless you're constantly winning and not in the lower bracket.
IWD (paraphrase) "Worlds patch was for T1's benefit, and it hurt GenG and Chovy - Yone and Smolder were nerfed". If IWD spent less time with his head up his ass, he'd know that Yone has been P/B 73 times, and Smolder has been P/B 27 times (including by Chovy in GenG's game 5 vs FLY]). Meanwhile... how's Faker's best champ, Azir, doing? Picked zero times, banned zero times.
I think if we really want champion diversity, we should have longer patches to allow teams to find counter picks to the OP picks and allow the meta to develop over time instead of teams waiting for the patch to change
I love how they didnt have this conversation in 2023 spring when t1 was winning the whole season playing double ad carry botlane but patch changed for playoffs so t1 lost in the finals. They changed the narrative that gen g was the better team that spring. Low and behold patch changes again t1 beat geng in msi but narrative changes to gen g underperforming.
by that same logic gen g wasnt the best team this entire year since hle beat them in the finals. Hle was the best team in summer but the narrative only shifts to how it suits them
I think starting the year off with fearless is a nice way to introduce adversity to the players and teams. It’ll be pure chaos and limit testing. Some good teams might look terrible, but that adversity can help them grow early and it will certainly almost prevent a plateau of entertainment. People will look forward to a settled meta after the chaos i think
I think the fearless draft will leaf teams to realize that the game is more complex than they have made it out to be. This will lead to a change in the whole game as people eyes are opened.
Dude I dont know if something is wrong with Chovy in international competitions. If his team is like coming as a favorite to win the whole thing they always becomes so complacent and always play so cocky but if his team is like a 4th seed he always revert to his solo carry mentality. I dont know if he is the reason why this shit always happen around him but man it is bad. While faker and his teammates always delivers in the right moments.
I was watching the games back and talking with friends about it, and we noticed something during the series. Most of the big fights that GenG lost, it was because Chovy either wasn't involved or was the one being picked. So we started rewinding to find out why. Almost every case it was because he wouldn't let CS go. He was "Chovying." The herald pit fight where the Nocturne ulted late, Chovy had shove in bot lane and could've moved mid way earlier. He stayed to catch another wave, which means that while his team was calling for the fight, he was saying "no, let me get this wave" and didn't start moving until it was too late. On his Sylas game, he straight up suicided into the baron trying to steal it for no reason, then ran out and got Peyz caught in Faker's ult instead of just dying and letting his team get back out. For the "best player in the world" he makes a lot of really greedy mistakes, but he's also not the dude who will sacrifice to help the team win. He won't drop waves to go clear vision. He won't dive in and trade his life for an ADC to win the fight. He just wants to farm for 40 minutes and then win because of scaling from his CSing. That's why he not "better" than Faker overall.
I don't see it as radical as many of the other comments, but I think the show becomes more enjoyable when you first give your takes instead of trying to mainly debunk narratives angrily. It's fine to do that, but I think your content should mainly be your analysis and not restating what idiots think.
Or maybe have a "comment of the week" segment where you lay into one stupid narrative/tweet/comment for 5 to 10 minutes but ignore community for the rest of the show
Watched every episode, but things like format rants and fan grievances used to be a minor element and now they are the entire show and it a bit overplayed.

So Dom's explanation on the T1 win is:
Gen G was not in good form because Worlds' format is not conducive for them due to reasons like low scrim quality and no time to practice cause of the travel and media days etc etc.
LOL 😂🤣😝
I'm glad that i see more and more comments like this. People are seeing through his BS and realizing that he just hates T1 with his soul
@@PeoplePleaser578How does "T1 doing better at shorter tournaments" and "T1 doing better at Worlds" add-up?
@ Because worlds is a shorter tournament than the rest of the year… like that’s not a hard concept.
You realise worlds has less games than every other tournament in the cycle… right? And it’s only on one patch so they adapt really quickly compared to a team like GenG who need more time to prep.
Worlds is entirely different to the rest of the year.
@PeoplePleaser578 Thanks for clarifying how well your listening skills are when Dom spent minutes arguing that the Worlds tournament is TOO LONG. 👍
I dont get the DOM over forcing on somehow this being more of a T1 patch?

It's a win/win for him if he pushes that narrative. It's more impressive for BLG if they win and it's "expected" if BLG lose since Riot are biased.
This is sarcasm right? Faker has been killing it on Ahri and Sylas plus his alkali game was fire. Keria is literally the best support on engage supports. Dom is just hating.

I dont understand how you can give Gen G every excuse in the book, and say all these things as to why they arent performing well. But T1 gets everything theyve been doing diminished, and that they were getting all of these advantages heading into the tournament.
Most people still biased towards T1 coming in to this tournament even they performed so bad in regional. Why can’t Streamers like Dom have his own bias opinion?
That is lehends
Another example is doublelift.
@@JerryReyes worlds is pretty much the tournament that matters tho. and if you think that is ludicrous then i will remind you that even pros say this. he is touted to be the best player. typically people want to see the best player to do more than just fine. people also want to see the x factor and he doesnt seem to have that(at least till now. maybe will see later in one year). frankly, chovy didnt play very well in the quarters either.
waittt since 2016?? what are u talking abt? in 2016 he was a very big reason for their win at worlds cuz kuro kept getting dismantled by faker. in 2017, he had standout performances in games with rng and msf which are still talked abt to this day. faker did play very well in 2017 worlds overall except for the finals. tho it is true that he did not play very well that single series. in 2022, he played very well in the match that helped them qualify into finals
and chovy hasnt even shown that he can win worlds. so its not that he hasnt won for a long time. unlike faker, chovy has never won worlds. heading into 2022 worlds, faker wasnt even in the top 5 midlaners in people's lists like caedrel. so does it make it sense to say that he choked? didnt he actually play better compared to his expected performance? in contrast, didnt chovy play worse? isnt it more justifiable to call chovy a choker in this case?
and isnt there a reason to believe chovy chokes considering that he doesnt really play like he does in lck at worlds? how many times has he gone to worlds and how many times has he lost? even in this years quaterfinals match, i cannot say that chovy was the reason they won and managed to get to semis. and remember the context is that chovy is considered to be the best player.
like i mentioned before. worlds IS the biggest tournament and he has not performed at the biggest stage. in fact he has had pretty bad performances in the past in worlds. people say chovy is a better laner than faker tho. what are u on about??? do u want me to show heavily upvoted reddit posts and comments talking abt how chovy is the better laner? and personalities also say the same things. why are u acting like dom and making up narratives now? (personally, i think faker is a better player than chovy however. frankly if there was supposed to be a successor to faker, then i would have preferred showmaker. he had a good mix of faker's playmaking capabilities and chovy's laning capabilities. but unfortunately he got burned out. being a good player and being a good laner is not the same thing in my mind. is chovy a much better laner than faker in my mind? definitely.)
when have u ever seen people not acknowledge chovy's abiliities. u do realise that part of the reason why chovy has the "chovy cs" meme is because he is almost always ahead of cs compared to the other laner. (the other part being that people think is too focussed on csing)
worlds IS the end all be all of pro play in the minds of both the audience, the pro players AND riot games.
no that is not true. lehends is getting more criticism. also, wasnt there a highly upvoted chovy defense post on reddit as well? do u just forget abt that part? where is lehends defense post? nowehere. why do u think that is? how can u then say that the community didnt care abt lehends doing bad?
was faker considered the best player coming into worlds for 2022? or even the best midlaner? faker was criticised in 2022 tho! why are you saying should? why act as if he didnt get criticised?
because that is how it has always been? not all matches have the same weight. and that is the truth of it.
let me give an example- who do u think the most popular players in lpl are/were? why do u think they are so popular? (hint- its because of their international results. particularly worlds)
@@Diya-dg6ur Its is the most important tournament. Its not the only important tournament. MSI is very important and arguably does a better job at producing the best team because of double elim+higher quality of practic, and it usually has a more stable meta.
Kiin champs are still strong, Canyon still have his jungle champs, peyz is great on kaisa/ez which guma is not, and keria is not picking the meta engage champs

another stream of Dom saying he gonna kill himself so nonchalantly 😭🥴
Dom, if my memory serves me correctly, you said once that T1 bad performance at MSI is do to fact that MSI is shorter tournament than Worlds and they don't have enough time to adapt to the meta. Dude changes narratives every time he gets shit on by T1
dude's a hypocrite when it comes to teams he doesn't like
Yeah and what exactly contradicts what he stated here?

I hate how they sarcastically always say "but worlds is the most important tournament of the year, rest of the season don't matter"

Man. RIOT keeps RIGGING tournaments for T1.
Before MSI 2022, they nuked TF, Lee, Jinx, and Jayce while buffing Kaisa and Tristana!
Before MSI 2023 they nuked double ADC bot lanes
And this worlds clearly T1 (not BLG) loves a meta with Ahri, Sylas, Yone, Jax, Ezreal, Kaisa as tier1 picks!
+engage supports

I agree. It's really annoying how they get hung up on some trolls and ignorant kids on Reddit.
He literally said during the drafts that T1 would probably win wtf are you on sbout😂

JDG GENG NOT GREAT AT WOLRDS META
GenG was pathetic because it feels like they came in with 0 prep :
- wasted ban on kalista when BLG showed the previous day how you can completely nullify kalista by outranging her in teamfights
- wasted ban on xayah to let ashe open for Guma when Ashe has always been a key pick for T1 over the last 3 years as adc or support.
Pathetic.

Love it that they cannot stay on topic b/c of T1
Hard to watch the best teams not win worlds, gives u mental breakdown
Guys stop complaining about fans. It is getting old at this point.
Why is Monte on this podcast? He does not have anything useful to say and he just interrupts Yamato.
Hle was the best team in summer but the narrative only shifts to how it suits them
If Dom finishes himself then Piglet wins
