Totally fine to do if your accomodation is not in the main tourist area where grouping and photos disrupt the service. In this instance you can see what she is doing is in silence and respectful away from the tourists on the Main Street.
I am very excited to do all of this. I am moving from Colorado to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia in the summer so I’m very excited to visit all of these places.
No, just old houses turned into places for people to stay. A quick google for places to stay in Luang Prabang will show you what it’s like there if you’re going! 😁
Agree with another post re giving alms. It's a local custom going back centuries and should be preserved as such. Watch it, but participating as a tourist should be a common sense no-no.
Tourists are allowed to participate - obviously it must be done respectfully and after learning about how and why it’s done. Which I did. How would you know i’m not Buddhist? It’s best you keep your opinion to yourself if you don’t know someone or their reasons, religious beliefs or motivation behind participating.
DO NOT make friends with a street dog 😂 They have fleas and ticks, even rabies! all it takes is a scratch from nail-claw and you are in A&E…Do not touch the street dogs!!!
I’ve been feeding and looking after street dogs in all my travels in over 2 years now. Yes, if you are unfamiliar with dogs I wouldn’t recommend it and yes there’s always a risk. However being intelligent and reading body dog language I’ve never been bit from any of the 100’s of dogs I’ve fed while travelling.
I live in Laos🇱🇦 thank you for recommending them❤
My mom and dad used to live in the house and their childhood now they are grown ups now they are in America
Loved Luang Prabang. One of my favourites in SE Asia.
I totally agree Brett! It was never on my radar, but it turned out to be one of my favourites!
Luang Prabang is an adorable small town with a river and mountains in the background. Very romantic if you ask me.
Luang Prabang home of the Lao royal kingdom. One of the world heritage site.
Looks amazing!
NO WAYYY I WENT THERE TOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
no
do not donate food for the monks as a tourist experience.
this is simply unrespectful!
just sit, watch and act silent and respectful

I agree... Westernized people in Asia are so cringy. When I visit, I'm merely a ghost, i observe unless I'm shopping or paying for attraction

I’m from Laos and I can agree it was fun and beautiful to see but many people are poor sadly so my family moved to the United States.
Looks beautiful!

I saw the other two posts. Interestingly, all the locals commenting seem to have no problem. All the Anglo Saxon men do 😂

Those dogs in Laos and Thailand, yes, very cute but not vaccinated for rabies. Watch out.
Rabies is endemic in Laos. Don't make friends with street dogs
