- Although crews are still working to repair British Columbia's Coquihalla Highway, it has now reopened to essential commercial traffic.
The province's main link between the Lower Mainland and the Interior - and the rest of the country - had been closed since suffering extensive damage from multiple slides and washouts following a powerful atmospheric river that hit B.C. in mid-November.
About 20 sites are impacted along the route with about 130 kilometres of the road needing repairs. John Hua reports on how its reopening is bringing relief to truckers and the province's strained supply chain.

We don't realize how we take so many things for granted until Mother Nature decides she's in charge and makes all those things inaccessible.

It reopen this fast because of the work of Pipeliners on the TMX ! Cheers to all of them !
UK Guardian: flooding in BC showed that Canada isn't ready for an earthquake.
Emergency fuel storage facilities are now being built as we have now realized we'd run out of gas extremely fast if an earthquake were to happen. This disaster is fortunately balancing our preparedness for future events
I just went over it early Tuesday morning, the workers have done a fabulous job getting it opened.
The traveling was great and hardly a bump in the road.
Very good
HALLELU-YAH!
Bene Buon lavoro
Auguri x buona Vita👍🎄👋

Maybe truckers will stop gouging on their rates now. $17k to go from Winnipeg to Vancouver is robbery.
Wait until justin troodoo bans fossil fuel . You'll be paying 3 times that much.

Now send the work crew to Quebec where most roads resemble the Coq after it was washed out.
Be years of work left to do....this is just a basic temporary fix.
@@Yielar1 Basic Temporary Fixes are all thats ever done in Quebec :(
Funny how when this highway first opened the truckers were all talking about boycotting it due to the steep grades, how times have changed.
stop the spray ~~~
