- Join us in the first of our vlogs from our 2015 California road trip. The original Disneyland located in Anaheim, California, opened in July 1955 and is the only Disney park in the world that Walt Disney ever stepped foot inside. Throughout part 2 of this vlog visit Disneyland Resorts second theme park, California Adventure full of on ride POV footage and first reactions from the parks wide variety of attractions and experiences!

I love watching the old vlogs where we would be counting down until the big 2 weeks trip to America and comparing them to the scale of the trips since 2017's Asia trip. It is mad to see how much the channel has grown since i first started watching in July 2014 😂
Those Disney shows Paint The Night & Disney Forever look absolutely superb shows, both very different yet fantastic in many ways.
California Adventure definitely looks the best non Magic kingdom park out there and to think this place has transformed from a strong disappointment in to a highly immersive place is a big achievement.
Epcot?
Epcot was a failure also in their first years.

This might be coming 5 years late, but I’m really glad you enjoyed your first trip to DCA! It’s one of my home parks and although it wasn’t always the great park that it is today, it’s still one of my favorites.
It’s such a great park now!

Totally agree about DCA - I don't really see why it gets a bad reputation, maybe it wasn't quite so great when it first opened but I've been lucky enough to visit 3 times since 2011 and I've just been absolutely blown away with the rides, the park theming, and the quality of the different areas. Cars Land is just on a complete other level to anything I've ever seen at any other park, ESPECIALLY at night. When you guys go back for World Of Colour, make sure you swing by Radiator Springs at night...! Take the 'rear' entrance across the Fisherman's Wharf area - the views of the rocks all lit up at night and all the neon lights are truly spectacular.

i remember the one year we went it was really rainy and California Screamin got stuck on the biggest incline. People had to walk down from the stairs of the track.

Watching this after a day at Thorpe Park
Glad you got to go to the revamped version of the park. The original version was far inferior. No Cars Land, no Bugs Life area. No Little Mermaid or Tower of Terror. Lame shows and nothing for kids. The front area was much smaller. Far less atmosphere. The area in front of Soarin' was ugly.
But now....it's far, far better and much more enjoyable. It feels like a real park. Considering that it was built for $600 million and revamped less than a decade later for 1.3 billion--it should be a better park! I was there in May for the 24 hour 60th Anniversary kick off. I'm glad to be part of history but it was hell. Literally! The queue to get into the park had 10,000 people in it!! All waiting to get through security. They shut Disneyland down for 12 hours and didn't let anyone in. The queues for any type of food including food carts was about an hour. Breakfast was a cookie because the queue was only 15 minutes.
I wish I'd been there to act as tour guide for you all! Back in '94 I had friends from the UK come and visit LA. I insisted that they visit Disneyland. They really had no interest in it. They were grateful at the end of the day for my persistence in making them go. Maybe some day light years from now we could meet up at DL. The Californian-Brit with the Brits in California!

Next year, this ride will become: Soarin' Around the World. So we must enjoy "Over Cali" as much as possible in the time it has left.

Oh wow. The more i see of Disney the more i cannot wait to go. I know you're in California and i am going to Florida but seeing some of the rides and the theming i really cannot wait! And the parks there look quite easy to get to?

Watching Disneyland Forever gave me goosebumps! Disney can pull on some amazing things that puts theme parks in the UK to the shame really. Hopefully London Paramount can create something as magical as Disney even though it would be exceptionally hard to do. Sensational Vlog, thank you for sharing your experiences!

Is it official that paramount is going to build a London and Spain theme parks?
There are plans to build one in London for 2020. It is not 100% definite because they have only bought a small space. Not sure about Spain?

2012-2017 was when DCA was in its prime. The new stuff is ok but I really miss how the park once was in this vlog :(

The Disney California adventure logo and entrance is similar to Disney’s Hollywood studios logo and entrance just the California version.

Wow...didn't realize how small the castle was at Disneyland California. So no chance of doing the projection on there!
It has a Projection mapping.
Try to watch Disneyland Forever castle view and it has projections. The snow has a projections in th whole park (including Matterhorn, Rivers o America, Castle view, Main Street, and Its a Small World.

You keep raving about American parks, but you don't realize that we're actually jealous of all the crazy theming at European parks. Most of SoCal and Florida are the exceptions to American parks. Most parks here are painfully stale thrill parks. I feel like you might get a glimpse at the true America at Magic Mountain. In New Jersey, there is not a single well themed or landscaped park in the area. The only close park that doesn't feel cheep or like a corporate thrill park is Knoebels.
