The whole joke with DP&W was looking for the most “comic accurate” Wolverine, but what does that mean? A mascot for the X-men? a Hulk villain of the week? A scruffy, edgy, animalistic killing machine? Logan is such a complex character that after decades of material, a hypothetical perfectly comic accurate Wolverine would include all the bad aspects too. But despite everything, what makes Wolverine a hero is his willingness to suffer if it means the family he’s made can live another day. Even somebody who’s lived long as Logan, long enough to hit rock bottom, can get a second chance. A chance to apply the lessons he’s learned to a situation as absurd as a multiverse romp with Deadpool.

One thing I'd like to point out is that this Wolverine variant appears to be stronger than the FOX version. I say that because we see this Wolverine kill Sabretooth in one move when in the first X-Men film, Wolverine fights Sabretooth twice losing one and having trouble in the other. Something else that stuck out to me is that this Wolverine says, "I've been alive for more than 200 years." when the FOX Wolverine died at 197 in the Logan film.
I watched Deadpool 2 and Logan before seeing Deadpool and Wolverine. And I loved those three movies, getting to know these two characters before they met. Particularly Wolverine, the guy seems like he wants to be part of something, but always finds himself roaming alone out there in nature and is a jaded character who wants to be better. I knew Logan was gonna die in Logan, but even then I still had to go on a walk around my town that evening beforehand just to mentally prepare myself for it. And even knowing he was gonna die, it delivered 😢. I’m just glad that this version of Wolverine has found somewhere to belong, that being Deadpool’s friend circle. I think deep down, despite how he often finds Deadpool irritating, he respects him deep down and I’m hoping those two go on lots of adventures together. And I hope this movie will always be remembered. Heck hopefully they do re-releases of this movie in the future in cinemas and we can relive those moments in the cinema again and reflect on how historic this movie is for Marvel fans and Marvels history.

6:22 the background music is also important because the theme that plays is Xavier’s theme from Days of Future Past; the theme that plays after James McAvoy’s Charles tells Logan they sent the wrong man back in time and reads his mind.
It’s a very subtle thing that I don’t think I’ve seen anyone talk about, but I really like when Gambit says “we’ve never had a Wolverine here before.” Wolverine as a character always seems to regret his actions in almost every continuity since he feels like he’s made too many mistakes. But he’s never been taken in by the TVA. He ultimately does the right thing, no matter if he thinks he’s done wrong and doesn’t deserve any better. Compare that to characters like Loki and Deadpool who have a crapton of variants in the void because they’re chaotic and unpredictable, but we haven’t seen virtuous characters like Captain America in there. I managed to read way too much into that one line, but I don’t care, it shows a greater appreciation for Logan’s character that can be easily missed.

Actually, you know why he drinks like that? Because it has almost no impact. He desperately wants to be black out drunk but because his body heals, it also processes poisons faster too. So, getting blind drunk buys him only a few minutes at best where he has no memory of what happened. Then he heals and he's sober again. A dependent alcoholic still couldn't drink that much without dying of alcohol poisoning
This movie felt like a swan song to Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds's Deadpool. Regardless if the characters come back in Secret Wars or some other project I'm not even remotely interested in, this movie provided such a satisfying sendoff to these two that I'm completely happy with it just being *the end.* And that's something I think the MCU is missing. An end. There's a reason why most fans checked out after Endgame. Because it felt like a proper finale to years of buildup. And this movie, while not nearly as large in scale, felt like the "Endgame" to the Fox era; going out with an absolute banger!

I think, by default the 2000 X-Men? Before the pitchforks are raised, not that it's HORRIBLE, mind you, it's still pretty great, but compared to the other movies Hugh is still kinda getting the hang of it and it's dwarfed by the other movies' performances. (Even in Origins, aside from the story Jackman is NOT one of the bad parts).
I'm under the impression that this wolverine is the precursor to the Old Man Logan because of this wolverine having mentioned he started killing and killing. From which if you read the old man Logan, he accidentally killed the X Men when Mysterio tricked him in killing villains when in reality he killed everyone in the X Mansion.
I just wish that Deadpool & Wolverine showed how humanity killed the X-Men. Since Professor X and Jean Grey are telepaths, they would've been able to sense humanity's evil intent. And I'm assuming that it was a coordinated attack by either the Friends Of Humanity or The Purifiers since in the comics and the TV series, they're the groups that try to kill mutants the most. I understand that this film took the "tell and don't show" approach, but this is the defining reason for Logan's failure, and I just wish we could've seen that.
However, I always thought it was ridiculously exagerated that the movie tried to convince us that IN AN INFINITE REALM OF POSIBILITIES, he was THE WORST path that Wolverine can become... I mean, this dude not only rectified his errors, BUT HE WAS WILLING to sacrifice for the greater good, & in the same movie we see a Wolverine that failed to protect his universe (the crucified one) & one that killed his own teammeates condemning his world to exctinction(Old Man Logan) Don't get me wrong, he was no saint & the bad things in his universe were CLEARLY his fault, but again, IN A VAST REALM OF INFINITE POSIBILITIES, sure there's gonna be a way worse Logan than this dude
