I love how Freddie just casually sheds his clothes, by the end just wearing those itty bitty shorts. But Brian said that at this concert Freddie was the most annoyed he had ever seen him. There were 2 concerts being filmed by a film crew, and they were in Freddie’s way and they had the security people keeping the audience in their seats while Freddie spent the entire time trying to get them out of them. They also wanted Freddie to do the same moves on both nights but Freddie was spontaneous never choreographed. So changing into the shorts one night created problems when it came to editing the two concerts into one. It was Freddie’s way of giving them the finger. I love 💕 him 🥰

Yeah Freddie was so furrious, on the first nigth they dident now hat the audience had been told by the regiser or what it was, that they should sit down and not do anything, can you do that on a Queen-concert 😅 and this was ofcourse in Montreal, if you see the first nigth you can see Freddie dont understand why the audience are not WITH them, wonderful consert anyway..lol 👑

    • @alisonrandall3039

He wore the shorts because the products team filming the concert got in the way when the band were performing the previous night. This pissed the band off especially Freddie so he wore the shorts to annoy the film crew. This didn’t help with continuity.

The only reason people keep bringing up that Freddie was gay is because it was “controversial” at the time... as in, certain segments of the population *made* it a big deal - but the vast majority of us were not bothered by it ! Freddie was Freddie, and we adored him
So maybe you’d like to hear about the others’ personal lives just a bit ?
-Brian May (guitarist) has 3 children all by his first wife Chrissie, then divorced her and is now married to famous British actress Anita Dobson.
    - Roger Taylor ( drummer) has a total of 5 children - 2 with his first wife Dominique, then 3 with partner Debbie Leng (who appeared in the Queen video “Breakthru” - they never married), and he is now married to second wife Sarina .
    - John Deacon (bassist) the first one of the band to get married back in 1975... he and his wife Veronica have *6* children , and are still married - they will be celebrating their 46th anniversary in just a few days.

Fantastic reaction! What you are hearing that you like in Another One Bites The Dust and in Under Pressure, is not the guitar or the drums it is actually the bass. John Deacon was the quiet and introverted member of Queen, but created some fantastic basslines. These are some of the most recognizable basslines of all time.

Each of them had #1 hits.

Freddie rarely enjoyed interviews but was known to have interviewers told not to ask “the fucking gay question.” But in an interview toward the end of his life, the guy asked it anyway, first thing. To which Freddie responded, “Oh, I’m as gay as a daffodil, darling!” And good for him. He must have been so over all the ridiculous petty shit by that time.

This is a John Deacon song that made it to number 1 and crossed over in several genres. Gotta love that strong bassline. Every member of this band had number one hits so the talent is huge. They all played multiple instruments and all had college degrees, Brian even completing his PhD in Astrophysics. Brian and Roger both sing lead in their own solo bands as well as Freddie being an amazing singer to headline the group. I love Freddie's outfit at this show, it proves how comfortable he is with himself and the crowd when he is on stage.

AAAAHHHH!! Freddie in short shorts! Love what Freddie wears or doesn’t wear!!
He usually strips down in a two hour concert! 😂 Freddie has great legs & there are men & women who‘ll agree with me!! LOL. So, Queen was annoyed at the film production director for asking the audience to “behave” but Freddie was not having it. A couple times he told the audience it was okay “to move your asses around”. Hence, Freddie wore the short shorts to annoy the production director! 😂 You should do the Wembley version!! It’s Fantastic!!

Thank you for your open mind and good heart. Things were different back then- we’ve come a long way, with more to come as more and more people get it that no one should be judged for a single aspect- race, nationality, sexual orientation, etc etc. Freddie was, like all of us, many things. That he ever had to hide or deny he was gay is shameful. Freddie was Freddie. And I thank every power in the universe and beyond for giving him to us for 45 years.

This concert was a two night event and it was being filmed by a professional company that really aggravated the band for some reason. Freddie wore the shorts on one night and the white pants on another just to screw with the continuity of the film they were shooting! There are a whole series of videos of this concert where Brian and Roger (guitar/drums) watch each song and make comments about things that happened during the performance and just cool little stories about the band in general. (on RUclips search Queen Montreal Brian Roger commentary... I learned a lot!!)

I heard the production crew asked the audience to be quiet and calm and changed the lights which both upset Freddie. And then they asked Freddie to do the second concert the same as the first, which wasn’t possible as it’s not rehearsed. Don’t know if it’s true, but I read that somewhere.

The reason why he dressed like that was because there were 2 concerts that were going to be filmed and the director wanted them to dress the same both nites...that made Freddie angry telling them what to do

  • @celticpoet21
    @celticpoet21 3 года назад +1

The audience knew this concert was being filmed and were told in advance to keep their enthusiasm tampered down. Thats not what Queen wants at their concerts. In fact, audience participation was the main reason Brian May wrote "We will rock you" among many of their other songs they sang live! They wanted the audience to feel part of the show. Freddie got a bit colorful in his attempts to get the audience riled up to participate in the call and response/singalong with this song as well as "Dragon attack", "love of my life" and especially during "Jailhouse Rock." Lesson learned-when Queen tells you to sing along, do it!

Roger and Freddies Flamboyance is a big part of Queen. ❤❤ It was a sign of the times back then. That's all.
Nobody is trying to provoke you.
And I'm just trying to put things in perspective for you . So please don't take it wrong when someone mentions that he's Gay. We all love that part of him. He was the most beautiful, brilliant, soul that ever lived.❤❤

This was controversial within the band: Deaky wrote it! Freddie loved it. He'd been wanting to go into more dance/ club music. Brian & Roger preferred more of a rock sound, heavy on guitar & drums. Michael Jackson loved it & insisted they release it as a single. He told them it would be a huge hit in the USA. & it was! Despite the disagreements, they all pulled together & gave it their best.

And she’s the only person on the planet who knows where his ashes were scattered. He did not want to be disturbed after he died. She waited 2 years because she knew she would be followed by fans or reporters. When enough time had gone by and people were no longer paying attention to her, she told her family she was going to the store or her hairdresser (can’t remember exactly, some random normal errand), took Freddie’s ashes with her and scattered them at an unknown location. I won't get tired of correcting people. Mary and Freddie broke up because Freddie was gay because bisexual people also like women. Mary herself said "Freddie was gay" multiple times. Stop hetero-washing him. It does matter to the gay community, he was one of the biggest gay icon ever.
