Maya has a built-in vector renderer, have you tried it already? This process might be easier since you could open in illustrator rather than photoshop, and the grid and scale part would be piece of cake.

Yep, and Arnold aiUtility shader to render wireframes, but I find taking screenshots and pasting into photoshop faster, less setup and I can take screenshots of dimensions, which don't render.
