Never heard of this guy until the last episode of 2 bears 1 cave and Ron White recommended him. Glad I gave it a listen.
Same here. This audience doesn't deserve him. This guy is great.
I met him back when it was just him,...early 90's in Austin. Been a fan and inspired musician since.
I came across a video twenty years ago with Monte in a small venue doing Romeo and Juliet. As a fan of acoustic guitar from the time I bought my first Yamaha FG in "83, I have been a fan ever since!
Can't believe I missed him at Sam's burgers this year. Super small club in San Antonio. I saw him a couple of years ago. Literally could have reach out and touched his shoes. Jesus, I look at the view numbers, I mean seriously what kind of world do we live in.
I think this dude could sing any song in the world and make it sound better than the original artist. I have seen Monte live 3 or 4 times.
I wish a live version of Let Me Go existed.
Ask and you shall receive. Monte's live streams have been a real blessing during this pandemic.
So awesome to see Monte getting some love and recognition outside here in Austin....Austinites have been catching Monte's shows localy since the 90's and he's not only the best acoustic rock guitarist on the planet, he puts on a great show. Always has. Check out his cover of 'Sara Smile' if you haven't already....it was good enough to get him invited on Live From Daryl's House a few years back.
My all-time favorite guitarist!! Miss being in Austin and seeing him live (or anywhere live for that matter). :)
He deserves every accolade, every listen and every best wish. Come to the SF Bay Area, Monte, asap!

Saw you at a theater in Clovis New Mexico around 1997 and then you went over to a small bar same night and played a little bit more for a small crowd.
