I really like Monte. Loved him from the first time I saw him. Talent beyond words. I feel that the reason he has not become a household name; Is because he is too " all over the board " . Meaning he tries to do too many things. Instead of being defined by just a few. Example, we all know monte is a killer player. But you cant just solo for half your set. Another example would be if you take Eddie van halen. When you heard a song, or solo you knew it was eddie. When you look at Billy Gibbons, he play so little, but accomplishes so much. His guitar playing has an identity. You know its Billy, every time. As well Monte can sing. Very well. I feel he needs more balance and focus. Maybe a different manager or producer... Hard to lockdown. IMHO
As Monte just dramatically demostrated All things are possible on the guitar. It is a wonderful instrument coming from Spain. The only limit is the imagination of the artist, not the harmony.
Thank you for so many years of staggeringly great work Monte. Seeing you perform live in St. Louis was one of the most inspiring evenings in my nearly 50 years of live music. Brilliant work bud, thank you.
DAM______. I thought I would watch and see someone else play this song, see if I can get a feel of what they were doing/chords etc . OMG is it better than the original ?? Almost..I don't think you can compare the two. Monty really has this energy that is soaring around the room & bigger than a group of musicians. Well done you Monty. Thanx for putting in all that practice mate.
I say this as a guitar player that has been playing as long or longer than Monte,...technically nearly 50 years,...good lord I suddenly feel old.....no bloody god forsaken comparison for fuck sake...its Monte Montgomery were talkin about,...but....Its a very different version than a polished, band assisted, live gig rendition. I personally love it,... It lets me hear how the song works as if...he had written it, which is why I approach every copy tune that way. It allows such musical freedom while still maintaining the integrity of the original writers version and musical message.
I love that arrangement...how can you call it a cover? I know this guy stands on his own two feet but I would like to hear him play music with Jerry Douglas...just a thought.
Saw him live. Hands down the best acoustic player. This video speaks for itself.
Monte Montgomery should be a household name.

Words don’t do justice!
Most of those lockdown home concerts were killer.

If next level playing has a next level, he's it !
You're an animal brother ! Hats off to you !
This song should be in the movie "From Dusk Till Dawn" 😁
Last man standing !

Please allow me to be the 1st commentor. Sweet licks Monte!!!!!
No faking that!
"Actual" song begins at 1:31. Much too much till then. Yes, Monte is fantastic, but for us 'Air-Breathers' simple is better, (IMHO)!
The world is unfair
