It's actually crazy that companies like this out effort in replicating popular devices instead of pushing their products to the limit which actually makes it worth buying
There goes a lot of research and development in designing a device from scratch, these clone devices usually have a motherboard layout that's already available and widely used including the chipsets , so no debugging no testing just throwing a custom version of Android ui (which is also widely available) at it and it will run it like nothing. Not having to deal with customers , no sales etc. For the shells (body) they replicate are made available by the company they copy here being samsung itself for third party parts manufacturing.
R&D for a device isn't cheap That's why they go with pre-made template, like some Chinese companies has similar products, just different in components Like one has Helio G99, other just using cheap CPU
Most ultra cheap MediaTek based phones (even branded and/or recent) have a fake or pseudo proximity sensor. It's basically an upper part of the touchscreen, like if you're calling someone, your ear touches this part and the "sensor" sends respective data to turn off the screen.
I remember when some clones had light sensitivity trough the front camera and the phone basically ate trough the battery because the front camera was basically permanently active.
I have an Samsung S8 and tell you what, it really has seen better days, so here are all the things that are broken. (Screen is cracked on the top left with 3 small black dots) (Screen is burned in) (Bixby button is gone) (The power button is kinda getting loose) (The frame is kinda scratched up) (The accelerometer doesn't work anymore) (The volume rocker is scratched up, especially the lower one) But i gotta tell you it's still going strong.
I had a Note 3. Seeing this, I can remember bringing it home. Remember how it felt. Definitely an odd phone even for the time with all of its odd, plasticky details. Like the cheap kitchen table looking chrome edges, and the weird "stitched" plastic back. I like how colorful the UI elements and stuff are, but there was always a weird blandness to Samsung's take on all of this, even though they were also using a lot of color. 8:46 The fact they screwed up the time format means they might've had a student or something put the widget together and they knew how to format strings and things, but didn't know that there's already functions for creating time strings that will respect the user's locale. 20:48 Better to have more reasonable expectations than this playing 4K videos but yeah it might just have no way to play videos out of the box.. I do remember the note 3 could play 1080p videos and I was impressed, it was exceptional for the time. I wouldn't expect this to do all that well past 480p...
This was $900 in 2013. If you account for inflation, their new devices are cheaper. Also, what innovation is there left to do? Smartphone have pretty much peaked until we get new battery or hardware advancements
@@seff6533 Mhm, let's see. They took away removable batteries, headphone jacks, and software simplicity. Those were the better days of Android, right before Google made it worse. And everyone started copying Apple for some reason.
Yeah whoops, my bad. I sat there and looked at that spec sheet and was fine with it so it just completely went over my head. I'm sure people will hear me say it all anyways.
I actually used a note 3 from 2021 to 2022 , it had been rooted , on Android 11 . If you do have one still get the surround sound mod , and overclock it. I managed to get the battery life from 1.5 hours down to about 20 minutes
You could 3d print mad hax adapters. It would be fairly simple, just measure the dimensions you would need, type it in, and print for an hour. I could do it for you if you want, hit me up
the funniest thing about this company is that they have no shame in copying the other phones and call it a day. this had some effort tbh, and the led was perfect tho XD i love the note phone, and i found in 2020 the note 10 lite and boi it's still amazing today! i don't change phone easily, and i wanted the ultra but it doesn't have any jack!! wtf smasnug?? anyway, that note 3 it's still cool to see even today, and even lollipop is now quite old. still works but it's 50/50 tho.

that's a quite a bit of a copy paste there 😅
imagine using the note 3 as a daily driver with a custom rom 💀
What a goofy name for a phone
I was fully expecting it to be a Java phone

It's quite disturbing how long the clone companies used the MT6572
Called m-horse but behaves like a m-pony
6580 now, but I think it's slowly phasing to at least 6737 since 3G support is slowly dying globally
@4bafiafzil999 No, I am specifically talking about the 6572-based clones companies started making in 2013 and continued all the way up to 2022.
brings back a lot of middle school memories with tons of clones suddenly popping out
crazy that theres now 2 new attack of the clones episodes now imo 💀 well done smoorez.
Note 10+ daily driver from Germany here!! 😃
Imagine in 2013, people laugh at phones as large as Note 3. And it was called phablets then.

one of these days, you're going to open a bootleg phone, and you'll just get a mismatched battery held in by blue tack.
The Samsung galaxy note 3 was my first decent speed, smart phone. Before that I had a Nokia N8 and that phone was extremely laggy.
if you used a custom rom, then its okay.

A company that makes intentional clones and advertises that???? Damn
That's Chinese companies for you
Even some good Chinese brands get some fake clones/copies too
