Beautiful knowledge! I'm taking care of my Midiron's first dormancy period and your videos are helping me immensely in preparing for a full season of green!
Just laid down everything from the jumpstart program, plus humichar, plus some of the chicken crush for organic matter. It frosted this morning but we’ve got so much rain predicted in the extended forecast I had to take advantage of the next 4 dry days to try and get it into the soil with minimal leaching. Sub optimal, but as optimal as I think I’m going to have this year. First year following the lawn guide, so I’m ready to take on the challenge!
Hey Doc, enjoying your videos and I am implementing your suggestions on my yard. You asked,, and I recommend you to plant some warm season Bermuda when you move to the farmhouse. Looking forward to continued learning and videos on how we can keep our lawns healthy! Thank you!
I’m new to the channel but I’m loving it so far. I need some help. I’m in a newly constructed house and have poor soil. I’m getting the lot sodded with tall fescue tomorrow. I want to start treating the grass like royalty right away. How should I feed and water this tall fescue with the crappy soil? I’m in beavercreek Ohio which is about 55 miles north on Cincinnati. Should I go with the pgf complete then the dirt booster maybe? Please advise if you will? Thanks Bill😂
Really appreciate your info and Really like the Anderson products. We have used them on my grass farm years ago. That said, several products Anderson has specifically super juice has priced itself out of range for many. Sad.
I have crawdad tunnels 😅 Also, that gravel truck sure beats bagged rock. They’re not messin around. I’ve been using another organic brand but may try Anderson’s this year.
In central NH my lawn has tons of worm castings in the spring. I assume that’s a good thing since they aerate the soil and the castings act as nutrients. I used to like using milorganite but it’s gotten too expensive, so I’ve been using Ammonia, dish soap, beer, and corn syrup in a hose end sprayer and that’s been working pretty well. I’d like to try “ dirt booster” but where can I find it?
Doc is right, but clearly location matters. Georgia is much more 4-season than SE Texas. Half of our February was at or over 80°F and a record 84°F yesterday. I put organic out in advance of tonight's overnight rain. As a green-up I don't find organics nearly as effective as high nitrogen chemical based fertilizer, but clearly their benefit comes from soil remediation and the introduction of beneficial microbes. I typically alternate organic/chem throughout the term of the growing season.
Help from Doc or anyone. I watch Doc's videos and follow his suggestions but I have one problem. I have about 29,000 sq. ft. of Bermuda sod I need to treat. I can't afford to buy all the recommended Anderson's products that cover around 5000 sq. ft. per bag. Just too expensive for the amount of area I need to cover. What am I to do? Any recommendations? I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem so any feedback is welcome.
ORGANICS and PESTS: [ ] what Effect might using the Corn (Chicken Feed) and Molasses in the Dirt Booster have on attracting Grubs, Birds, Moles, Gophers and Aardvarks and the Damage that they cause on yards?
Doesn’t the synthetic fertilizer hurt your soil? Is it the only way when it’s cold to get green? If so maybe we should change the paradigm when soil and earth worms are king.
Sure... the term "organic" can not be used on packaging unless it is certified OMRI. It can't be certified due to the varying make up of the corn distillates from day to day.
I put 5 bags of Milo on 7500 sq ft (back yard only) 2 days before this video and I thought I screwed up lol Well it turns out my back is out preforming the front which I didnt do after watching this video. I quess it worked because we had many many 80+ degree days in Feb-Mar. I got lucky
Okay, Doc! Why in the heck would a dude in my neighborhood burn his bermuda grass right now? I live in Alabama so we're sharing similar weather. Does he not want to scalp and thinks burning his brown grass is an easier way to prepare for the season? I've never heard of this before. Please make it make sense!
My lawn has looked spectacular for the last three years with literally no weeds but I saw Clover late last summer and now they are peeping at me again. The barricade pre-emergent and image did not work. Help Doc!!😱😱
Cold is relative. Above freezing soil temperatures is more than good enough for an organic to be broken down. You can give a kick of urea and As to get the ball rolling.
The color of your farm house is outstanding. Love that red. Great choice.

Looking forward to your future videos! Love seeing progress on your projects. So neat.
Excellent footage. Thanks for simplifying how and when to use organic matter.
Zyosia link doesnt work and how about some love for st. Augustine lawns?
Always nice to watch a Doc video 😊

It is amazing what you have done to that place
this is exactly the info i was looking for, thanks
Hi Doc I’m in California, and no matter what I do to my lawn I keep getting a lot of nut grass every
summer, any suggestions?
Hey Doc, What lawn guide should I use for St. Augustine in Southern California? I'm neither Zoysia or Burmuda.
We appreciate the Lawncare guides, Thank you Doc!!!

Great video Doc. As always well explained lawn care.
How often should we put the dirt buster down?
What type of grass is recommended for sandy soils?
Doc have you ever done a video on moles , or do have any advice for dealing with moles
Hey Doc how do you get rid of rescue grass?
The outside of the farm house looks beautiful...

Isn't there a plug for the Ego so that you mulch?
Doc. Would the dirt booster help prevent fungal infection as I have read feeding cornmeal does? Good video!

I got germination.6 days.. Blackjack
and the mole crickets are back.
The video title says organic but it seems like Dirt Booster used the term “all-natural” and avoids saying organic. Can you clarify?
Sure... the term "organic" can not be used on packaging unless it is certified OMRI. It can't be certified due to the varying make up of the corn distillates from day to day.

Literally just put down organic fertilizer about 2 hours ago. Derp.
I'm in central Fl I started yesterday. Soil temps around the yard high 60 to 70degrees. Air temp 80+ with a brush of 90 this weekend.

Maybe early, but it lasts months so you will get something out of it just not as much.
