I love that when Andrias is revealed to be the villain, he doesn't drop his goofy, jovial, eccentric personality. Like, it wasn't part of the act, he just happens to be a tyrannical backstabber as well. I also love the animalistic stance and roars he makes while in battle. And then of course, there's the complete callous of what he did to Marcy. He just works so well as an antagonist, and for me, he's right up there with the Disney Renaissance greats.
Exactly Andrias did a complete 180 and turned evil and he became one of the best villains I’ve seen in a long time that’s why almost everyone in the fandom hates him since he’s such a good villain
The writers did an amazing job with Andrias’ character. One of my favorites out of the whole show. My favorite character Keith David has ever voiced. I love Andrias’ sinister villain side, but still has a laughable, goofy personality. Sure, he’s an asshole and what he did was heartbreaking, terrible, and unforgivable, but plot twists are one of the best surprises when it comes to animated storytelling telling series. Amphibia is my favorite series of all time.
King Andrias remains to be among my favorite, if not my top fav Amphibia character. His quirky and goofy nature pairs well with his sinister side, and he has a great amount of depth, acting as a truly great main antagonist for our heroes.
@@Happyboi1798 Yes! I feel that's a trap too many storied fall into nowadays. People don't have to fundamentally change for the sake of the plot, they just need to be developed and fleshed out in a way that makes their personalities more multifaceted. That's where Amphibia truly excels 💙❤️💚
The reveal scene with Marcy is just… masterfully done. First off: Got to give props to Haley Tju for her voice acting. She really got to shine in this episode, in that scene in particular, and she did a phenomenal job. Second: The animation in the scene, the expressions but also the lighting and coloring, were just so good. And it’s interesting when you go back and think about it. While Marcy was generally nice and sweet, how she interacted with the world of Amphibia was always a little off. Because she treats it like escapism, like it’s one of her RPGs. She even refers to Sprig and the Plantars, their friendship and companionship, as things she gave Anne. Which, honey, that’s not how any of that works. It’s easy to forget that these kids are 13. Also, a scene I want to talk about is Anne’s Calamity Power scene. I love how fluid the animation is and the slowed down instrumental of No Big Deal. It’s really such an awesome scene.
Easily one of the best monologues given by a character in any show remotely like this. So much emotion and distraut mixed with brilliant facial expressions and visuals. Haley tju needs to be in more things because I was floored. Not only my favorite character of the series, but quite honestly in my top five disney characters in general. Just so brilliant because she’s written to be the jolly hopeful character, Sasha is written as an obvious antagonist. We all expect Sasha to turn, no one expects Marcy to have done something wrong like this.
19:07 Something I appreciate about the cliffhanger is the build-up to it. Andrias tries to kill Polly and Sprig, and both of the Plantars manage to narrowly escape unscathed, so the show lulls you into a false sense of security that none of the kid characters are really in any danger of being seriously harmed. Which makes it all the more shocking when the episode ends with Marcy getting shanked.
Yes. Kudos to Brenda Song for the delivery & Eden Reigel for her voice direction. If the Children & Family Emmys had started last year or years ago, they probably would have won an award for that but they only started them this year.
…I mean maybe if you’ve only watched 10 shows and they were all kids cartoons? Hell even Demon Slayer’s dub tops it. Ray and Brandon legit screaming for their lives in the season 2 penultimate
I love that in Marcy’s final expressions in this episode are golden. Her going from precious Marcy to horror, than sadness, anger, and fear, then went to her full crazed rant before finally breaking down Amazing.
Whenever a reaction to this episode is released, everyone mainly wants to see the person's reaction to *Andrias:* Now look what you've made me do! *Marcy:* I-I'm sorry. For everything. *Anne:* MARCY!!!
There’s actually a few I usually want to see people’s reactions to: -what you said -Sprig getting dropped -Anne going super saiyanne -the entire last 8 minutes -and how f*cking good the episode is
The sad part is when Marcy said that she accepted it as a punishment and as her fate. And to make matters worse, Sasha *may have* dropped the ball "foreshadowing" _this._
That gonna be like this: Marcy: "I-I'm sorry, For everything. And I fell down a flight of stairs again" *sounds of falling down stairs* Anne: MARCY! Why you always fall down of stairs=( *teleport sounds*
This is why Marcy is the best character of the show in my eyes. Not just from being adorable and pleasant to be around -- the revelation of how she started all this and the situation in regards to it really hits you hard. It does'nt justify what she did of course, but it certainly makes you feel empathy and have an understanding why she did what she did. Unlike Sasha's selfishness, Marcy's was far more out of the love she has for her best friends
I think it's an absolute masterstroke of storytelling that they spend the entire second season building up to an inevitable rematch between Anne and Sasha, even putting a swordfight between them in the intro...and then when that swordfight finally comes to pass, they have you rooting for Sasha. It's a brilliantly unexpected and deftly done reversal that nonetheless feels completely organic to the characters and story so far.
The action is extremely intense, the music goes hard, the animation is beautiful, the VA's put all their heart in their rols, the comedy is still funny and the story made so many heart breaking and epic moments and all that in just one episode. This is what a perfect episode looks like.
(At 19:09) 2nd time: literal backstabbing, "Impalement" This is the ONLY backstabbing everyone's paying attention to. And the sad part is, the way she apologized, she *accepted* her fate or accepted it like a punishment for her actions, like she had it coming. Although, I don't think Ann and Sasha were all right with her suffering like _this_
(1:45) I swear, the Hirschverse just keeps growing with these Easter eggs or cameos. Disney TV won’t confirm nor deny these shows connections toward each other, but these appearances aren’t really doing them any favors. The fact the book says “Dr. P.” Yup, that would be Dr. Pines. Perhaps Dipper?
Just a friendly reminder that Disney cancelled the owl house because it didn’t fit their brand, meanwhile Marcy getting stabbed is shown completely uncensored
This finale is amazing and is hands down my favorite episode of season 2 the music when Anne uses her powers for the first was so beautiful also Marcy’s voice actress absolutely killed it in the scene when she reveals she got them stranded on purpose, when she said “look at sprig I gave you this, I gave you everything” my heart broke cause Marcy is my favorite of the girls and the way she said it was not in a “be grateful for what I gave you” way but a “I messed up please don’t leave me” way. And when she got stabbed that was so shocking I fell of my chair literally . And When the credits rolled I couldn’t hold it in anymore I will admit I cried the first time I watched this finale and still do honestly.
This finale is like a series of well-executed sucker punches. So good, it still gets my heartrate going and the animation is _gorgeous_ -the only other cartoon ep that compares to this for me is A Tale of Two Stans
So A lot to say about this episode, but since you're such a music appreciator, I think most of all you'd like to know that the music playing when anne goes super sayian, "Anne's power", is a beautiful rendition of "No big deal" from the last episode.
I don’t think there could’ve been a better name for this episode! First Sasha and grime show their true colours by taking over, then it’s AndriASS’s turn, then Marcy, Sasha and grime again (on team good this time) and finally anne gets her powers. Can’t wait for your season 3 reaction, I know it’ll be good, because s3 and it’s characters are incredible! It’s definitely gonna be fun

Actually, the reason "The adventure was far from over, in fact, it's just beginning" is because before the episode premiered, Disney delayed the episode because of how dark the episode is. But Apple accidently leaked the episode on the App Store. A lot of people were watching it on RUclips. Disney was warning people not to watch the episode. After that, Matt Braly tweeted about the premiere and "stick around after the credits for a surprise."
Man. This episode was so much. One of the most shocking things I've ever seen in a show, and somehow the most heartbreaking thing of it all is the "end of part 2" text. Idk why but it just destroys me to see that pop up. Everything about this episode is fantastic and I think I agree with everyone who says this is the best episode of the show. The s3 finale comes close.
hey mike here is some context for when the episode aired so your in on the drama of the true colors delay. so true colors was going to air on i think 7 of may 2021 and the creator matt braley even had a livestream on twitch the day before where he would sign fanart and have a Q&A but then... 8 hours before the episode was sepose the release disney cancelled it because of that last 4 min of the episode. then to make it even worse they went radio silent and no one not even matt braley knew what was going on. then a day later the episode got leaked by apple tv because disney forgot to tell them that the episode was delayed, so because of the leak a big part of the fandom had allready seen the episode so disney coudnt change it anymore, that why this is the only episode of a kid show on disney with a content warning. also matt had to give disney a after credit scene to make sure children woudnt end the episode on a sad note. also the season 3 marketing and trailers where handled verry pourly and spoilery because of the disney blunder. just so you know what the amphibia fandom had to experience when this came out its kinda funny to look back at the memes
Amphibia has its own problems here and there, all shows do. But holy hell if True Colors isn't a masterclass in how to do a climax. It honestly feels like it belongs in some kind of big high fantsey show, but still with Amphibia's goofy charm. Its so tonally different than ANYTHING else in the show, in an amazing way. Every character dynamic, relationship, and tiny plot point comes to a head, I mean hell you didnt include the scene in your reaction but Andreas even calls back to the fking moss man from season 1. And can we talk about voice acting, Marcy's whole speech, Andrea's tonal shift, and Anne's "Give him back". Amphibia is great, but this episode is in a league of its own. Also you don't have to defend yourself, but I agree I have to put Amphibia a notch or two higher than Owl House. Its something about its combo of characters and deeper lore thats teased and pulled on all the way up to this episode. To me Owl House doesnt exactly get up and running till season 2. Season 1 is just fun times with characters we get little to nothing in terms of over arching story, whereas Amphibia does IMO a better balance. And also IMO True Colors is a WAY bigger and "epic" finale, mainly because we have had such a long build up with, I think clearer stepping stones to get here. That I'm sorry but Owl House's season 2 finale still rubs me the wrong way with the collector. He comes out of nowhere and one ups our main established villain in 5 seconds, all within the last 3 minutes of the episode. Whereas here, from the moment we met Andreas we knew he was up to something, always in the background. And his reveal happens with a lot of time left in the episode to flush him out more and show WHY hes a serious villain, and ALL of this isnt at the cost of our previous villains (Sasha and Grimm). Just to be clear I still really like Owl House too, but I think Amphibia just knew what it wanted to do right from the start and as a result comes out on top in my opinion
About Owl House, I remember hearing somewhere that the Collector stuff was only added after Season 3 was cut down. I think the creator said it on an interview, but I don't remember where. I find myself enjoying Amphibia more than TOH as is, but I am curious about how it would rank if the creator got to tell the story she wanted.
This episode is an impressive show of force by the team behind Amphibia. It still feels to me, like it should have been 2 full-length episodes, but they make it work very well within the limited time frame. As you might know, the release of this episode was completely botched by Disney. The higher-ups pulled it from release at the last second and demanded, that the warning be put in the opening and the trailer for Season 3 be put at the end - with all the spoilers that it contains - which deleayed the release for more than a week. Except they forgot to pull the release via iTunes, causing thousands of people to watch the unedited version early and for A LOT more people to get the ending spoiled. It was a mess and a half and Matt Braly was understandably PISSED. Anyway, it's a landmark episode in television animation, and just as enjoyable on the tenth watch.
I feel you, I for one *love* Owl House. It is a really amazing show and will forever have a special place in my heart (more so than Amphibia maybe) but just the highs Amphibia is able to reach - it's truely awesome and in that way I also like it more than Owl House. The Characters, the Story, the worldbuilding and most of all the epicness and especially the brief powerfull moments (like Andrias letting sprig go, or Sasha's 'goodbye' last season) of episodes like this is unsurpassable imo

As much as I love the Owl House, I agree Amphibia just strikes a different, better cord. Gotta love this ep tho. First they fake us out with almost killing sprig, and then they hit us at the end with killing (fucking IMPALING like holy shit Disney) Marcy. The only way they coulda made it more graphic was if there was blood, but considering it was a flame sword, idk if the blood would even be visible.
Well... here we are! This the reaction we've been waiting since the first episode of "Amphibia" on this chanel. The S1 finale has shown that the show isn't just good but great, the S2 finale shows that Amphibia is a masterpiece! Also some adult people literally cryed over this thing, so let's see how Mikey handles it

marcy says look at how much fun we have had no offense marcy you have been having most of the fun and thats she got transported to the welthier side that being newtopia sashas was stuck in jail and anne was stuck in a forest there kind of has been just as much bad as good for anne and sasha
Man I was crying hard again. So beautiful! I hope you will do a review of Marcys book after the show. :D It's the first book I've read in over 20 years. :D I'm happy my favorite reactor to Amphibia is liking it more than The Owh House. The Owl House was an 8/10 for me, but ended up being 7/10 for me towards the end. Amphibia is a 10/10 for me. Gravity Falls a 9/10. In Amphibia,The music, especially for the emotional moments are incredible. The voice acting superb! The animation, fight scenes. Out of this world! I've never seen so much quality from a TV-Show in those regards.

Marcy’s being stabbed I am pretty sure shocked all of us because when that warning at the beginning happened most of us wondered what could be that bad but man that was bad.
I know this would sound bad but I felt nothing when marcy got stabbed I guess I was still processing frobo's death and spring&Polly almost dying literally froze my emotions
@@vegvisir9276 they ever did. Ppl often talk about their emotions just not happening when bad things happen in quick succession. It’s like your brain just overloads. It’s why ppl might seem cold or unresponsive cuz they’re not able to process, the brain does it to protect the person so they can keep themselves going. Eventually it wears off though, ppl then mourn. In some cases, which is why so many ppl r messed up in this world, they don’t have the time to mourn at times. This is a similar case, and obviously isn’t remotely as bad as anything i sorta described.
The utter shock, me too. I LOVE True Colours, they throw you through a loop saving Sprig then immediately stabbing Marcy, and the fight scenes are so well animated it gives me chills every time! I think this episode broke me so bad I can't remember how I felt watching it. I can remember my feelings abt the first minute or two but my memory cuts after that. Also hot take, sprig being dropped really didn't hurt me too much.. I guess I wasn't too attached to the main cast not as much as marcy. I just connect with her more than Anne.

If I had a nickel for every time, There was a show where a girl gets transported to a new world which has the season 2 finale end with her and her friends stranded on earth with no way of returning back Id have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice right?
I don't really have anything to write, except for this episode is... it is just... the most amazing season 2 finale. they could not top it if they attempted another S2 finale. that's how good it is.
This will be a big post but "True Colors" deserve even more. After the previos episode with so much bonding between the girls Sasha wouldn't support the Toad rebellion, right? Wrong, she totally will and so there's the second duel between Anne and Sasha. Only this time we have a reason to root for Sasha because... ...King Andrias is a completely ruthless multiworld conqueror and has an army of robots and a flying fortress with a doomsday cannon on top! Yes, "Amphibia" has been a show about interdimensional war all this time. Of cource, conquering Earth wasn't part of the deal between him and Marcy... ...Poor, poor Marcy. She literally loved her friends more than her own parents, she was so desperate to keep the Trio together. Moreover, her words about their personal growth and new friends were technically true but Anne and Sasha didn't ask for that. Instead of keeping them together she made them move apart and in the end she was left alone - exactly which she was afraid of. It's good she managed to find the strength and courage to save Sprig... ...Who was the third person Andrias tried to kill with his own hands in the last five minutes. And seeing how the little pink frog who was a true friend to her and inspired her to be the better version of herself falling to his doom makes Anne snap. It's time to see the true potential of the blue calamity gem and it's awesome! In the best action scene of the etire show (so far) SuperSaiy-Anne wipes the floor with the tyrant and his robots! Marcy steals the Music Box and open a portal to let the heroes escape... ...And then she got stabbed by Andrias. Right after she lost the friendship of the two human beings she loves the most and right after she was betrayed by the person she trusted the most in this new strange world. And now we know why there was a warning right before the episode. So, the status quo is completely destroyed. Marcy's body lies on the cold floor of Newtopian flying palace, trust and friendship between the girls are severely damaged, Anne and the Plantars are on Earth now and an interdimensional war is at hand. That's "True Colors", folks! Thanks for your reaction once again!
This episode is the living embodiment of the top ten anime betrayals meme, and I am all here for the drama. I don't think anyone would blame Anne if she started to develop some serious trust issues, after getting backstabbed by Sasha, Marcy and King Andrias, all in the same day.
I do love both shows The Owl House and Amphibia! They are also both two different shows. Who both just won awards. And The Owl House won for Drama Comedy. Which I think Amphibia is more comedy. I also think that Amphibia deals with more friendships, and I love the arcs of those friendships. ( which I also suggest you reading Marcy’s Journal, AFTER you have finished the series) The show did incredible job with the season finale. It’s also one of the award for the season finale ( wount say which season but it 1000 percent deserves the award, the writers of Amphiba are amazing, the show has made me cry, and I never cried for anything lol 😂. Owl house will still be my favorite but that’s just what I like. Everyone can have a different opinion
So, the warning wasn't always there. The day before the show aired someone at Disney panicked about the scene they already knew it contained and had previously approved and delayed the episode. The episode was at high risk of actually being censored but in the end the warning and the preview of season 3 that you were warned to skip were added and the episode was finally aired uncut. Another theory for Doctor P has been Doctor *Pines*. If you watch Anne and Sasha's sword fight this episode closely Sasha is completely on the defensive while *Anne* is constantly going for, but thankfully missing KILL SHOTS.
amphibia has more action and an amazing plot story, while the owl house has misteries, a plot that thicens at every turn and multiple diverse characters... they're both awesome in their own way!
I think the biggest difference between Owl House and Amphibia, besides being 2 completely different shows, is time. Amphibia had so much time to build the world and characters.
This was one of the best season finales ever! I loved it so much! And how Marcy got stabbed, what so heartbreaking. And the most emotional thing in the entire show. I still love Marcy so much! And she’s still my favorite character! 🥹
This isn’t the series finale. This is the season finale. Personally, I think this is better than the series finale, but some say the series finale is better.
@@thwingerpodthvet4302 for me it depends. If you count the last two episodes of season 3 together then I'd say that's better, if you only count the last episode, True Colors is better.
A heads up for when you watch Season 3, it does tone it down a bit (that’s not the problem) but it goes for a little more humorous and if your wondering why Anne never felt stressed she just never let it take over her even if it hurt her deep down

I love that in Marcy’s final expressions in this episode are golden. Her going from precious Marcy to horror, than sadness, anger, and fear, then went to her full crazed rant before finally breaking down Amazing.

You think this was heartbreaking for Ann? Wait till you see it from Sasha's perspective.
This is why Marcy is the best character of the show in my eyes. Not just from being adorable and pleasant to be around -- the revelation of how she started all this and the situation in regards to it really hits you hard. It does'nt justify what she did of course, but it certainly makes you feel empathy and have an understanding why she did what she did. Unlike Sasha's selfishness, Marcy's was far more out of the love she has for her best friends
I think it's an absolute masterstroke of storytelling that they spend the entire second season building up to an inevitable rematch between Anne and Sasha, even putting a swordfight between them in the intro...and then when that swordfight finally comes to pass, they have you rooting for Sasha. It's a brilliantly unexpected and deftly done reversal that nonetheless feels completely organic to the characters and story so far.
The action is extremely intense, the music goes hard, the animation is beautiful, the VA's put all their heart in their rols, the comedy is still funny and the story made so many heart breaking and epic moments and all that in just one episode.

I can't believe we've arrived at this episode This finale broke me. The complete change in atmosphere was chilling.
This finale is amazing and is hands down my favorite episode of season 2 the music when Anne uses her powers for the first was so beautiful also Marcy’s voice actress absolutely killed it in the scene when she reveals she got them stranded on purpose, when she said “look at sprig I gave you this, I gave you everything” my heart broke cause Marcy is my favorite of the girls and the way she said it was not in a “be grateful for what I gave you” way but a “I messed up please don’t leave me” way. And when she got stabbed that was so shocking I fell of my chair literally . And When the credits rolled I couldn’t hold it in anymore I will admit I cried the first time I watched this finale and still do honestly.
This finale is like a series of well-executed sucker punches. So good, it still gets my heartrate going and the animation is _gorgeous_
-the only other cartoon ep that compares to this for me is A Tale of Two Stans
So A lot to say about this episode, but since you're such a music appreciator, I think most of all you'd like to know that the music playing when anne goes super sayian, "Anne's power", is a beautiful rendition of "No big deal" from the last episode.
I don’t think there could’ve been a better name for this episode! First Sasha and grime show their true colours by taking over, then it’s AndriASS’s turn, then Marcy, Sasha and grime again (on team good this time) and finally anne gets her powers. Can’t wait for your season 3 reaction, I know it’ll be good, because s3 and it’s characters are incredible! It’s definitely gonna be fun

Actually, the reason "The adventure was far from over, in fact, it's just beginning" is because before the episode premiered, Disney delayed the episode because of how dark the episode is. But Apple accidently leaked the episode on the App Store. A lot of people were watching it on RUclips. Disney was warning people not to watch the episode. After that, Matt Braly tweeted about the premiere and "stick around after the credits for a surprise."
I hear they added the warning and the theme song by the end to not make ppl think Marcy’s role in the story was over

Man. This episode was so much. One of the most shocking things I've ever seen in a show, and somehow the most heartbreaking thing of it all is the "end of part 2" text. Idk why but it just destroys me to see that pop up. Everything about this episode is fantastic and I think I agree with everyone who says this is the best episode of the show. The s3 finale comes close.
hey mike here is some context for when the episode aired so your in on the drama of the true colors delay. so true colors was going to air on i think 7 of may 2021 and the creator matt braley even had a livestream on twitch the day before where he would sign fanart and have a Q&A but then... 8 hours before the episode was sepose the release disney cancelled it because of that last 4 min of the episode. then to make it even worse they went radio silent and no one not even matt braley knew what was going on. then a day later the episode got leaked by apple tv because disney forgot to tell them that the episode was delayed, so because of the leak a big part of the fandom had allready seen the episode so disney coudnt change it anymore, that why this is the only episode of a kid show on disney with a content warning. also matt had to give disney a after credit scene to make sure children woudnt end the episode on a sad note. also the season 3 marketing and trailers where handled verry pourly and spoilery because of the disney blunder. just so you know what the amphibia fandom had to experience when this came out its kinda funny to look back at the memes

Amphibia has its own problems here and there, all shows do. But holy hell if True Colors isn't a masterclass in how to do a climax. It honestly feels like it belongs in some kind of big high fantsey show, but still with Amphibia's goofy charm. Its so tonally different than ANYTHING else in the show, in an amazing way. Every character dynamic, relationship, and tiny plot point comes to a head, I mean hell you didnt include the scene in your reaction but Andreas even calls back to the fking moss man from season 1. And can we talk about voice acting, Marcy's whole speech, Andrea's tonal shift, and Anne's "Give him back". Amphibia is great, but this episode is in a league of its own.
Also you don't have to defend yourself, but I agree I have to put Amphibia a notch or two higher than Owl House. Its something about its combo of characters and deeper lore thats teased and pulled on all the way up to this episode. To me Owl House doesnt exactly get up and running till season 2. Season 1 is just fun times with characters we get little to nothing in terms of over arching story, whereas Amphibia does IMO a better balance. And also IMO True Colors is a WAY bigger and "epic" finale, mainly because we have had such a long build up with, I think clearer stepping stones to get here. That I'm sorry but Owl House's season 2 finale still rubs me the wrong way with the collector. He comes out of nowhere and one ups our main established villain in 5 seconds, all within the last 3 minutes of the episode. Whereas here, from the moment we met Andreas we knew he was up to something, always in the background. And his reveal happens with a lot of time left in the episode to flush him out more and show WHY hes a serious villain, and ALL of this isnt at the cost of our previous villains (Sasha and Grimm). Just to be clear I still really like Owl House too, but I think Amphibia just knew what it wanted to do right from the start and as a result comes out on top in my opinion
About Owl House, I remember hearing somewhere that the Collector stuff was only added after Season 3 was cut down. I think the creator said it on an interview, but I don't remember where.
I find myself enjoying Amphibia more than TOH as is, but I am curious about how it would rank if the creator got to tell the story she wanted.
This episode is an impressive show of force by the team behind Amphibia. It still feels to me, like it should have been 2 full-length episodes, but they make it work very well within the limited time frame.
As you might know, the release of this episode was completely botched by Disney. The higher-ups pulled it from release at the last second and demanded, that the warning be put in the opening and the trailer for Season 3 be put at the end - with all the spoilers that it contains - which deleayed the release for more than a week. Except they forgot to pull the release via iTunes, causing thousands of people to watch the unedited version early and for A LOT more people to get the ending spoiled. It was a mess and a half and Matt Braly was understandably PISSED.
Anyway, it's a landmark episode in television animation, and just as enjoyable on the tenth watch.
I feel you, I for one *love* Owl House. It is a really amazing show and will forever have a special place in my heart (more so than Amphibia maybe) but just the highs Amphibia is able to reach - it's truely awesome and in that way I also like it more than Owl House. The Characters, the Story, the worldbuilding and most of all the epicness and especially the brief powerfull moments (like Andrias letting sprig go, or Sasha's 'goodbye' last season) of episodes like this is unsurpassable imo

As much as I love the Owl House, I agree Amphibia just strikes a different, better cord. Gotta love this ep tho. First they fake us out with almost killing sprig, and then they hit us at the end with killing (fucking IMPALING like holy shit Disney) Marcy. The only way they coulda made it more graphic was if there was blood, but considering it was a flame sword, idk if the blood would even be visible.

The S1 finale has shown that the show isn't just good but great, the S2 finale shows that Amphibia is a masterpiece! I hope you will do a review of Marcys book after the show. :D It's the first book I've read in over 20 years. :D I'm happy my favorite reactor to Amphibia is liking it more than The Owh House. The Owl House was an 8/10 for me, but ended up being 7/10 for me towards the end. Amphibia is a 10/10 for me. Gravity Falls a 9/10. In Amphibia,The music, especially for the emotional moments are incredible. The voice acting superb! The animation, fight scenes. Out of this world! I've never seen so much quality from a TV-Show in those regards.

It’s why ppl might seem cold or unresponsive cuz they’re not able to process, the brain does it to protect the person so they can keep themselves going. Eventually it wears off though, ppl then mourn. In some cases, which is why so many ppl r messed up in this world, they don’t have the time to mourn at times.
This is a similar case, and obviously isn’t remotely as bad as anything i sorta described.

I think this episode broke me so bad I can't remember how I felt watching it. I can remember my feelings abt the first minute or two but my memory cuts after that. Also hot take, sprig being dropped really didn't hurt me too much.. I guess I wasn't too attached to the main cast not as much as marcy. I just connect with her more than Anne.

After the previos episode with so much bonding between the girls Sasha wouldn't support the Toad rebellion, right? Wrong, she totally will and so there's the second duel between Anne and Sasha. Only this time we have a reason to root for Sasha because...
...King Andrias is a completely ruthless multiworld conqueror and has an army of robots and a flying fortress with a doomsday cannon on top! Yes, "Amphibia" has been a show about interdimensional war all this time. Of cource, conquering Earth wasn't part of the deal between him and Marcy...
...Poor, poor Marcy. She literally loved her friends more than her own parents, she was so desperate to keep the Trio together. Moreover, her words about their personal growth and new friends were technically true but Anne and Sasha didn't ask for that. Instead of keeping them together she made them move apart and in the end she was left alone - exactly which she was afraid of. It's good she managed to find the strength and courage to save Sprig...
...Who was the third person Andrias tried to kill with his own hands in the last five minutes. And seeing how the little pink frog who was a true friend to her and inspired her to be the better version of herself falling to his doom makes Anne snap. It's time to see the true potential of the blue calamity gem and it's awesome! In the best action scene of the etire show (so far) SuperSaiy-Anne wipes the floor with the tyrant and his robots! Marcy steals the Music Box and open a portal to let the heroes escape...
...And then she got stabbed by Andrias. Right after she lost the friendship of the two human beings she loves the most and right after she was betrayed by the person she trusted the most in this new strange world. And now we know why there was a warning right before the episode.
So, the status quo is completely destroyed. Marcy's body lies on the cold floor of Newtopian flying palace, trust and friendship between the girls are severely damaged, Anne and the Plantars are on Earth now and an interdimensional war is at hand. That's "True Colors", folks!

This episode is the living embodiment of the top ten anime betrayals meme, and I am all here for the drama. I don't think anyone would blame Anne if she started to develop some serious trust issues, after getting backstabbed by Sasha, Marcy and King Andrias, all in the same day.

I do love both shows The Owl House and Amphibia! They are also both two different shows. Who both just won awards. And The Owl House won for Drama Comedy. Which I think Amphibia is more comedy. I also think that Amphibia deals with more friendships, and I love the arcs of those friendships. ( which I also suggest you reading Marcy’s Journal, AFTER you have finished the series) The show did incredible job with the season finale. It’s also one of the award for the season finale ( wount say which season but it 1000 percent deserves the award, the writers of Amphiba are amazing, the show has made me cry, and I never cried for anything lol 😂. Owl house will still be my favorite but that’s just what I like. Everyone can have a different opinion
So, the warning wasn't always there. The day before the show aired someone at Disney panicked about the scene they already knew it contained and had previously approved and delayed the episode. The episode was at high risk of actually being censored but in the end the warning and the preview of season 3 that you were warned to skip were added and the episode was finally aired uncut.
Another theory for Doctor P has been Doctor *Pines*.
If you watch Anne and Sasha's sword fight this episode closely Sasha is completely on the defensive while *Anne* is constantly going for, but thankfully missing KILL SHOTS.
amphibia has more action and an amazing plot story, while the owl house has misteries, a plot that thicens at every turn and multiple diverse characters... they're both awesome in their own way!
I think the biggest difference between Owl House and Amphibia, besides being 2 completely different shows, is time. Amphibia had so much time to build the world and characters.
