As a diamond zerg on NA, I could feel Kilby's frustration. I always play against terrans who teleport BCs across the map, shift click hellions into random bases and keeping scatter cloaked mines across the map. They always target the overseers and the spire and are trying to maximize the zerg's pain and frustration. I am not fast enough to deal with everything and keep macroing well behind it, and meanwhile the terran is expanding and fortifying new bases. It is also hard to break tank mine planetareis without a dedicated attack which leaves your bases undefended against hellion runbys. Usually by the time I finally shut down the harrass, they have 90 workers and a maxed out tank thor helbat ghost army. I find it really hard to play against. I understand that the these terrans is simply far better than me at the game, but it is still incredibly frustrating to play a game against someone way better than you and spend all the time putting out fires here and there for 15-20 minutes.
As a Diamond 3 Zerg myself I also feel the frustration. It's a lazy way for terran to get ahead. I've learned how to crush the BC cheese pretty easily. Scout to see if they expand or not with your overlord. If they are not expanding that's usually the sign, or that they are marine all inning you. Quickly going to Hive to get Corruptors is the way to go. Then Corruptor ling bane. Use overseers sent in first to the bases to trigger the mines then flood the banes in and repeat. More easily said then done though of course.
Not sure if I missed the memo and you guys already know this but y’all fellow diamond 3 zergs need to be using grid hot keys instead of standard. Suddenly I can use the zerg spell casters and it’s game changing.
Zerg is a hard race. You can only win if you do everything as fast as possible. Unlike those lazy protoss who go to tournaments by not leaving their base until they maxed out with Carriers.
Im a Dia 3 Protoss on EU and i can feel your pain, I got similar experience. Im playing against this sh*t as Protoss at least once in ~20 games, only the opening is usually mass cyclone. Its so damn frustrating. As Protoss you cant counter early on because cyclones are to fast. By the time you get big enough army to defeat planetaries and defend against non stop cyclone raids, they switch into bcs, so the moment you attacka planetary you got bcs teleporting all around, be it defence or offence. These guys also seem like smurfs trolls with mechanics clearly higher than me. I dont think i have ever beaten it, best try so far was mass immortals early on to annihilate cyclones and quickly dispatch planetaries, with a ready transition to blink stalkers against bcs. It worked ok initially, i killed his cyclones and started taking out his planetaries but i made a mistake and still lost it in the end..

As a somewhat of newbie in starcraft i think i understand big thing. Professionals like Harstem are so angry of this too many overlords, grades or anything else because actually this 100 minerals is insanelly important, every upgrade that is too early could been used to better workers or amy so that you could get more minerals/gas over all, and we as just new to game guys dont understand it, and losing some games just because of that. I remember losing just to barely been outnumbered, because i placed hydra den, too many evos, roach and on top of that 3 lvl of hatchery and mutas. While enemy just spaming roach ling banes.
Absolutely love that the Terran's icon in the scoreboard gets changed once Harstem determines that yann is, in fact, a 55-year-old German who lives in his sister's basement.
Respect to you Harstem for supporting good sportmanship and feeling bad for the guy that's sending the complaint. I was rooting for him too. And congrats to all the unknown heroes out there that gave Yan a piece of his own medicine. I'm sure there are many. And I'm completelty sure tht Yan kisses his dad on the lips when ever he loses, just to make him self feel better :)
Also this is the worst version of Terran players. Maybe it's a diamond level thing (I'm low diamond too) but every now and then you run into a T player who does this exact same strat. Mass planetaries/turrets and sits at home massing BCs. Sometimes they defeat you by crushing your will to continue playing, long before you actually lose the game
Same thing happened to me, after I intercepted an attempted harassment with a liberator he decided to go full planetary, turrets, bunkers, tanks and mines and we ended up in a complete stalemate. In the end I committed suicide to get it over with because it's very boring and exasperating to play against someone like that

As a Diamond player, I counter players like Yann with Roach, Ravager, and Corruptor. Ravenger to bile down turrets so corruptor can spit on the planetary fortress.
If kilby alredy have that problems with undefended planetarys how he will react, if he gets a higher level and fought in to siege tank, mine, marine protected planetarys 😮
Great showcase of how you can watch pro games all day, then hop on the ladder and face things like planetary naturals with 4 turrets which you never see at high levels. I think low level players (like myself) need to remember & embrace the fact we are in fact, playing at low levels & act accordingly. Things will work here that won’t in a pro game! What I would love to know is, where the hell are these Diamond players in the NA ladder when I play? I watch SC2 on YT very often, much more often than I play even and, when I see Diamond/plats on here, they look like they're playing with their elbows. This game isn't the best example because Kilby did honestly have some decent moments of micro and his build was competent but, still, the vast majority look VERY bad. I am a diamond myself and I won't say that I'm even remotely close to the best Diamond player or that I even deserve to be higher rank, I am just saying that the representation of them on YT seems to be mismatched somehow.
Starcraft 2 is ultimately just a game to these two. Yann might have won this game. But you know what is very clear? The winner in life, out of these two, clearly is Kilby. Like you said at around 2:05 most people complaining about IMBA paint very specific pictures and try to use that picture as a representation of the entire race. In your example, fighting 6 lings with one zealot next to a battery. More often than not it is people complaining about some static defense/structure and fail to recognize it is exactly that. A static structure. Meaning they could move around it *in most cases* or avoid fighting there altogether.

But the guy litterally sits in his base and masses mutas without any creep spread. As a sometimes low master and mid diamond player I can’t relate to that at all.
Making a planetary in his natural … as a Terran this guy seems like the absolute worst. And when you beat someone like this they get really quiet all of a sudden.
I actually played vs a toss that did this EXACT same kind of talk. Stormed my bio early on and said “you like that storm to the face??” I snipe his archives he says “okay you wanna die to carriers instead?” And he ended up winning. Lol and yes it’s always a tough game to lose.

What I would love to know is, where the hell are these Diamond players in the NA ladder when I play? I watch SC2 on YT very often, much more often than I play even and, when I see Diamond/plats on here, they look like they're playing with their elbows. This game isn't the best example because Kilby did honestly have some decent moments of micro and his build was competent but, still, the vast majority look VERY bad. I am a diamond myself and I won't say that I'm even remotely close to the best Diamond player or that I even deserve to be higher rank, I am just saying that the representation of them on YT seems to be mismatched somehow.

Starcraft 2 is ultimately just a game to these two. Yann might have won this game. But you know what is very clear? The winner in life, out of these two, clearly is Kilby. He's stronger mentally and emotionally, and acts like a real human being. He doesn't lash out because he hates himself and hates his life. One day, Yann will watch this video and cringe at his own behaviour.

Im playing against this sh*t as Protoss at least once in ~20 games, only the opening is usually mass cyclone. Its so damn frustrating. By the time you get big enough army to defeat planetaries and defend against non stop cyclone raids, they switch into bcs, so the moment you attacka planetary you got bcs teleporting all around, be it defence or offence. These guys also seem like smurfs trolls with mechanics clearly higher than me. I dont think i have ever beaten it, best try so far was mass immortals early on to annihilate cyclones and quickly dispatch planetaries, with a ready transition to blink stalkers against bcs. It worked ok initially, i killed his cyclones and started taking out his planetaries but i made a mistake and still lost it in the end...
That was a massive prick indeed, but there's a reason he's the same 3200MMR, and that's that he gets his ass handed to him by other players. The problem would be if Serral would act like this haha
Yann I am pretty sure is a French name. I know a Frenchman from the Switzerland side of France with that name. But perhaps he gets his name from the Swiss side since his last name certainly is not a typical French name.

Like you said at around 2:05 most people complaining about IMBA paint very specific pictures and try to use that picture as a representation of the entire race. In your example, fighting 6 lings with one zealot next to a battery. More often than not it is people complaining about some static defense/structure and fail to recognize it is exactly that. A static structure. Meaning they could move around it *in most cases* or avoid fighting there altogether.
