    I agree. I don’t have a CI but I learned ASL because I have a great deal of difficulty understanding what people are saying. I am fortunate that so many people in my life also learned ASL (or PSE). As I have become more involved in the Deaf community, I don’t feel the need to explore a CI. I have had 3 ear surgeries and after each one I was quite ill for months or years. So I have to admit that I am a bit afraid of having another ear surgery. Thank you for your perspective
