    If you do everything you should do and after it flashes a couple of times it turns into a solid green light you should use a different USB -drive.
    It happens to me and after a couple of redo's later it still wasn't working. I just changed my USB and it worked first try....
    What was the problem? Well I guess my first USB drive was just too old (10-15 years) and BIOS didn't detect anything on there. My other drive was fairly newer.

      @Noah-hi2up 3 года назад

      I think it has to be a USB 2.0. I ran into this issue using a fairly new Samsung USB 3.0 drive. Swapped it out for an older one I got for free at a conference and it seems to be working. (Might also be something to do with the format). The newer one had an NTFS partition. The one that works is formatted as FAT.)

      @@Noah-hi2up that was the issue than. you do need to format it as fat32, ntfs is not gonna work for the bios update.

    I did this without having the 8 & 4 pins CPU - those connection are for the power source for your CPU - WHICH YOU DON'T HAVE INSTALL - you just need the 24PINS connection to your ATX motherboard power. Everything worked beautiful!

    • @un-box-it7807
      @un-box-it7807  3 года назад

      It's easier if you just want to update the bios on a bootable pc like yours. All you have to do is follow the first few steps of downloading the bios file and copying it on to your usb. Next, plug the USB in and turn on your pc and go into bios usually by pressing F2 key or Del key on the keyboard. Once you are in the bios, go to Tools, EZ Flash utility, this works similar to a file explorer, so just Select the USB drive on the left and then select the bios file and click yes to read this file then its gonna ask you if you really want to update the bios you click yes and let the computer update, make sure you don't turn off the power during this part. The computer will automatically reboot once the bios is updated.

If you are going to have other files on the USB, I would suggest you put everything else in one folder and leave the bios file in the USB root folder.

    • @un-box-it7807

      You have to do the update with flashback method if you bought an old version of this model. If you bought your motherboard recently then there are high chances that it already supports your new ryzen 5600 cpu. Just look for a sticker on a box which should say "Ryzen 5000 Series Ready " or you can ask your retailer if it's supports your new cpu out of the box. If it does then you can just update through uefi bios with a usb which is way easier. I bought this motherboard last year and at the time these motherboards didn't come with the bios that accepted the ryzen 5000 series cpus so I had to use flashback method to update it.

For asus motherboards, check under tools settings, there should be a ezflash utility and you can update it from there. No need to take apart anything. I am sorry I don't understand by "name of the asus?. You just download the file and run the renamer file , that will automatically change its name to what it should be.

    If i already downloaded the latest bios and extract it in usb and inserted the cpu gpu ram can i boot atleast on bios so i can flash there using the monitor?

    • @un-box-it7807
      @un-box-it7807  3 года назад

      If its a 5000 series cpu and your motherboard doesn't support zen 3 architecture out of the box then most likely you won't get any display output even when connected to a gpu. However you can still update it the way I did with the ram installed.

    • @un-box-it7807
      @un-box-it7807  3 года назад

      The same has happened to few other people on different forums. Their solution was to format the usb (less than 32gb) to fat32 and then EXTRACT the bios file straight to the USB root folder. Run the bios renamer on USB root folder and then delete everything else on usb and just keep the bios file and try again.

      That depends. If you already have a computer with zen 2 cpu then you can just use that to update its build through USB by going into bios at boot start up.
