Humans are stupid, and it is getting stupider
I finally know how to close my knife. its been open for a year now
your pockets will thank thank you
What about fixed blade knives ??
I mean... if you apply enough pressure, any knife will fold on you.
Most fixed blades don’t count as a pocket knife.
well first you need a hammer and an anvil-
@@ItzSlushie what if i put it in a pocket
@@_frytasy Then youd be dumb
I once came home to find one of my knives sitting open on my bedroom dresser. When I asked around about it, turned out somebody used it for something and didn't know how to close it. (frame lock)
Thats happened to me too 😂
Almost every time I've handed out a folding knife out they never know how to close it.
Once handed an OTF to someone who put his finger on the razor sharp edge while trying to close it. Blade came down and sliced his finger super deep. Bit of an extreme example because folding knives don't typically fold with much force or in a slicing motion but still.
Lol, I let my sister borrow one of knives. 2 hrs later got a call saying
"is this broken? It's locked and I can't close it!"
Frame LOCK
The last knife was really nice 👌 👍
It’s the Protech Malibu
👌👍😩
Way, waaaaaaay better as well
How are you doing
OMG thank you. I just got a knife and could not figure it out. It was the liner lock and I never would have noticed that.
Couldn’t figure out how to close my Mtech knife for 30 mins until I watched your video 😅 thank you !!!!!
@@williammears6627I still don’t get how. It looks like a really stupid way to close a knife tho honestly.
Thanks for this, opened my grandpa's knife to look at it and literally had no idea how to close it when it wouldn't budge with me pushing on the blade (backlock, like shown at 0:11. Never ever seen a mechanism like that before, normally they have buttons or just push close)
Really helpful.
I remember back in fourth grade I found one of my stepdad's old pocket knives and me being the dumbass kid I was decided to open it and didn't know how to close it so I decided to pack it in my backpack with nothing inside of it and somehow the teachers found it and I was given the tension all day and when they said they were going to tell my parents about this I kind of got worried and after school turns out my parents never knew because they never picked up the call honestly worse and best day ever
The tension 😰
@@Random_. yeah I was scared x3
detention (noun): the punishment of being kept in school after hours. "He has made students fear after-school detention."
The tension:
mental or emotional strain.
"a mind that is affected by stress or tension cannot think as clearly"
How are you doing
The sideways push lock mechanism had me stumped. Kept trying to push it in directly into the knife housing. Good vid. Finally knife unstuck :-)

Thank you so much! I just found my father's old knife that was open for about 2 years and it was my first time with a pocket knife so I didn't know to close it but know I do.
0:11 I feel so stupid, thank you lmao
Thank you so much!
It’s unfathomable to know that there are many people out there that really have no idea how to deploy and then secure a bladed tool. Thanks for the 411 you are putting out on your channel.
If you have slightly above average intelligence that means you are smarter than 50% of all people
My wife had no idea how to close my buck knife. I was shocked and then she said it was the first time she used a knife like that. Some people just know butter knives and chef knives
closing a knife is simple
step 1: hold handle with 1 hand
step 2: push back of blade on thigh until blade slips back into handle.
pro tip remove fingers from path of blade when closing.
How are you doing
So you close small knives like big ones, that's awesome 🙂
Oh my god thank you for the video my great grandfather’s knife is open from 100 years ago and me nor my whole family could possibly understand how it closes but now you have shown me the way!!!
How are you doing
Love me a compression.
So well done 👏 ✔ 🙌
you’ve saved my fingies from getting chopped up
Thanks. You wouldn’t believe how many knives I had laying around open until I seen this video
Thank you so much 🙏
Thanks you helped alot
My pocket knife has been sitting open for 2 weeks next to my bed. Thank god this popped up on my fyp
Thank You
Thanks so much
The first knife was a Jack Wolf! The owner of the company actually made a video saying let the knife close itself after the half stop, so what is done here is technically wrong!!!
Thank you so much
Thank you
This video should be a worldwide PSA. I cant count how many times someone's asked me to borrow my knife, and then them handing it back confused since they dont know how to close it.
Thanks I almost cut my fingers of trying to close my pocket knife this helped alot
Ngl I like the first because I love small simple pocket knives

They never close.
Saw a knife I liked and I went to the website and almost spent my life savings
What was the second knife?
Oh, thank God! I was getting tired of bleeding all over my furniture.
Thanks because I was playing with my dads things and it did not shut unroll I watched this thanks ❤❤
The Spyderco Shaman is one hell of a knife.
Appreciate ya 💯
Ty i took for ever to know how to open my lock back
Ty😊
Spiderco just patented the better version of the liner lock. That is funny.
The the liner and frame locks I think it is good practice to get as close as you can the the tang when you work the lock. Hopefully that will block any blade momvement until you get your fingers out - especailly with flippers.
Thank goodness for this tutorial, I have been carrying my knife in my pocket deployed for three weeks. Thanks blade hq
This was so helpful 😊
I’m carrying a Demko Ad 20.5 today. None of these methods worked for me! Please help!
You’re screwed 😂
The spiderco lock is so great. I love mine.
Compression lock seems like just an upside down liner lock but functions completely differently. It’s my absolute favorite style of lock very strong and easiest to operate
very helpful.
much appreciated
thx
Thumbs up if you feel as if you should have known this before watching this video. Lol now it’s easy
Thank you so much! You saved my life. I opened my dad's knife to cut something open but I didn't know how to close it again. Thanks!!
Bruh I saved my life cuz I opened my brothers pocketkife thank you
the ones where you have to press something in like the 3rd one are my least favorite
THANK YOU😂it was literally that simple
what about a balisong
Grab a handle. Preferably the one that has the blade's edge facing away from you and just spin it.
tysm
you are goated
Neverthought I could close mine.
I bought an Italian switch blade. Opened it the first time. Took me an hour to figure out how to close it. 😅
Bring back the benchmade 51 plz
okay thanks i felt dumb as fuck trying to figure out the liner lock
What’s the 3rd knife
BRO TY I DIDNT KNOW HOW TO CLOSE MY KNIFE
Am security officer, bought a knife couldn't close, watched you and locked straight up. Thanks much❤
Thank you I was visiting my dads house and I accidently opened his pocket knife and this vid saved me
Any advice for closing a liner lock that’s stuck without slicing yourself?
THANK YOU
It is BEYOND astounding how many people don’t know how to close a liner lock
For real! It's not that hard! -George
What's the name of the first knife?
There are also several different types of back locks. One of which is designed to be closed with one hand. The Spyderco Delica 4 has a flattened portion on the blade close to the pivot; when you release the back lock with your thumb, this flattened portion of the blade is designed to fall and rest on your pointer finger. Your fingers are in the blade's path, but the sharp part never touches you. Once the blade is halfway, you remove your fingers and close it the rest of the way.
This is gonna be great for my next trip to the UK
nice tutorial review...Long time I Finding how to use and safety knives..Thank you your video very useful..what is the brands and models that you used in this video please?where can i buy them online or actual stores please? How much each of them please?

You forgot the Opinel locking mechanism.
