Not only are your restorations amazing, I must compliment you on the quality of your video production. Camera work, lighting and editing are impeccable.
Wow, that’s sharp! Never use this to stab your classmates or little kitties and puppies to death. Ok, kids? I feel like that’s definitely the lesson here.
I love that your restorations actually RESTORE the item to its original condition and aren't just 40 pounds of bondo covered with paint. Excellent job as always!
You sound like me . I feel the same about how alot of folks do this work . I've restored over 200 + Knives . So I'm very particular .as to how to do a knife .
Using a bunch of bondo so you can skip the hard work of sanding is definitely a bad thing that some restorers are guilty of, but there are also times when bondo/filler is the right move, and unfortunately a lot of people are under the impression it is always lazy and bad. For example if an antique part is thin, and deeply pitted it would be better to clean/stop further rusting and then use filler to even out the surface rather than sanding the part to oblivion or outright replacing it with new parts and ruining the piece's originality. Bondo is just another tool in your toolbox that under very specific circumstances is the better choice.

It’s really a gift to watch an artist as they go through their process. You truly have amazing talent! Thank you for sharing this incredible restoration with the rest of us!
When I was a child, I was playing with a Swiss knife of my fathers'. I had not handled one before. I had the main blade out, and went to close it, and it was hard to close. It finally flipped closed - directly onto my thumb! I still have the scar now at age 38. I love your channel and work and beer reviews, it is a fun combination and I always look forward to your next video.
This channel really deserves a lot more subscribers! I'm always blown away by these restorations, and this one is no exception. Most people would have tossed that knife in the trash, but you turned it into something beautiful. Keep it up!

Absolutely exquisite, I found this very relaxing, probably because you did all the work. So gratifying to rescue something old and in bad shape and making it useful again. A piece of art. It’s a credit to you, worthy of a cold beverage. Stay safe 🙏
Actually, I think it is you who is supporting the many of us as you transport us into a realm of craft, care with materials - with positive messages of longevity and giving new life into these projects as the present themselves. Thank you.
Its a labor of love. being a knife guy, its not for resale!!! just to show what is possible with passion, and the knowledge and the right tools. Loved it!!! Rick
Instantly a new favorite channel of mine! The bloodwood provides the flair, and the whole thing is an appreciation to a deep idea that anything is possible, no matter how broken you think you are. Just beautiful.
I have to say yours has totally become one of my favourite channels. I’ve been following you for over the past year and it’s been so great to see how it’s blossomed. Great work, friend!!!
Very impressive and highly entertaining, not to mention the quality of your work. you also have a well stocked work shop, all the tools you need. I look forward to more from you, thank you sharing your work.
I follow a few restoration channels, and I’ve looked at many others. What sets your work apart from ALL of them is the creativity you apply. It’s what makes me look forward to each video. My young daughter is starting to get into restoration RUclips. I’d love to be able to gift her this knife one day! (She‘ll have to wait a bit longer for the beer though.)
A beautiful restoration for a classic “multi tool”. The colors and textures of the woods are arranged nicely. This is something anyone would be proud to use and show off!
Just discovered this channel yesterday - I was immediately "hooked" and subscribed. The whole package (Items, Restauration Process, Filming, Cutting and Pace) is excellent and fun/relaxing to watch. It es nice to watch someone giving new life to pieces with history while showing dedication an precision this enriched my day.
I think that probably the best part of this restoration is the history of all parts. Given the choice of quality used over new, i’d always go used. I love to hold wood in particular knowing its been held and crafted before. I love old watches for the same reason. Never having had a Swiss army knife, this old gal would be delighted to own this one - or buy any other you restore in the future. Tastefully done.
What a beautiful work! The combination of these types of wood made the difference! I almost cried watching this video because I remembered a pocket knife of my grandpa that passed away in 2018 and we were so close to each other.
Beautiful as always The part I like the best about watching you is not just your skill with the restorations, but your ability to see the potential in a piece of wood that others would just throw away. I definitely agree with you about the fizz in the beer, just the fact that it didn't produce a good head was enough to tell that.
Beautiful wood work. It’s so nice to see a restoration with more than just metal working skill. The sentimental nature is wonderful as well. Excellent work!
Wow, this restoration is honestly so beautiful, the design of that wood cover and the history behind all of the wood swatches is really ingenious! Never stop restoring (or drinking beer!)
Congratulations on reaching 41,300+ subscribers! This proves that the things you do are great to watch, and always highlight your skill with metallurgy, woodworking, and restoral processes. The thing that impressed me the most in this episode was the making of the broken copper plates. You not only produced exact copies out of a copper sheet, but you nickel plated them as well for authenticity, as well as protection! I admire that you chose a multi laminated handle for this knife. This gives the finished knife a distinct personality, and uniqueness. Well done! I hope your subscribers continue to grow as the years pass. NO TO WAR.
Love the fact you used wood scrap from past projects for the scales; That's some palpable storytelling right there! And it looks like a bad-ass coral snake! Amazing job
This restoration shows many of your abilities, metalworking, woodworking, as well as showcases some of your previous projects. As always, I love when you take time out to sample and test a beer. I love learning about all the different European beers. Great content as always!
The restored knife is wholly beautiful; your restorations are a work of art. Plus the camera work and lighting, and final editing. Thank you so much. With kind regards, Wendi UK 🌻
Your work on this is closer to fine art. I love your ability to be so talented at many different disciplines such as metalwork, woodwork, plating and finishing.♥️
Beautiful knife, al least someone who takes the time to disassemble the piece and really restore it...your wood idea was really good...congratulations, keep the good work
It's sad to see these things in such bad shape beforehand, and so lovely to watch the care and expertise you bring to their restoration! Much love from Scotland!
Beautiful job there, must be very old, as I do not think Victorinox has made wooden sheathed knives for a long time, but still the classic look on it, and a great job on fixing it as well. I have a similar one which I used regularly, till the knife itself wore out, and the clip for the lanyard wore through. Repaired that with silver solder, but eventually it had to become a drawer piece. Aluminium sides, with the NATO issue number on it, the proper military version. Great knives, and that it was still so sharp after so long in a field is testament to the great design and good material choice. Your choice of replacing the wood with the same is great, though you really made it shine with all the colours chosen in the selection of wood used. A top job on this one, showing your attention to details, even in small parts.
I have a really sad fact to said... it isn't a victorinox knife, victorinox never produced these can opener, some can opener were close, but still not the same. But if you want a good new, victorinox still product knife with wood scales.
Whoever assembled the original knife in the factory (how many decades ago?) would feel so warm and content inside to see this restoration. Beautiful job.
I always thought the more modern plastic scale Swiss Army knives were a smidge less elegant than the older variants with wooden scales (though obviously, the newer ones are incredibly durable.) I’m amazed you got such a terrific result from where you started. I don’t think I would have touched that knife without gloves (or a tetanus shot.)
When this video showed up in my feed, I thought I’d check it out briefly then skip to the end. Nope! I watched the whole thing and thought that it was really well done. Thanks for putting out quality content!
Dude! Well done. Whoever gets it, the important thing is they have a knife that's been cared for and nurtured with detail. Those are always the best gifts. Congrats to whoever gets it. A great family tool with a history and story.
It's satisfying for me to watch your videos. I don't have a shop, or even a garage to do projects like I used to and you do such a great job on all your projects. The knife turned out beautifully, you should be proud.
