Which healer is your favorite from all the stuff you've seen and read about so far? Will you be picking something flavor of the month or sticking to something you know and is probably safe?
A 5% DR beacon combined with Devo aura is going to be massive W for Hpal for tank healing. Also, with barrier which can aggregate group healing into absorbs and a one minute Sac they probably have the strongest kit to handle the tank nerfs.
I literally started learning Hpal in pre-patch for this reason. Lol. I’m a MW main but willing to switch just because of the tank nerfs if my group needs me to.
Sac was nerfed. It's no longer 1 min but 1:45 min if you spec into Sacrifice of the just or 2 min baseline for holy. Ret and prot still have 1 min sac. Hpal used to be stronger in this sense though. Barrier was like 100% stronger in DF S4 and even a lot more before the S2 Hpal nerfs. And had 10% DR before with glimmer instead of just 5%.
@@Snaxarus I'm still maining MW into the xpac because yolo. It's fun and still does all the stuff it needs to without really any worry of it being nerfed by much. Also both hero talents seem viable. But yeah Hpal def looking fotm.
@@RinaaaYa since when? Sacrifice of the Just is still showing a 60 sec CD reduction for Holy's sac on Wowhead and it's been updated for the talent location changes from yesterday
going to play healer first time exclusively for m+ , resto shaman seems super fun and easy to play for me. I hope tww will not end again resto druid meta
This was answered in another comment but I would look into resto shaman personally due to the amount of cooldowns it has to pick back up if you fall behind. It could just be that i've been playing so long I don't think there's really a hard healer or easy healer since they all have their own unique skillsets and strong or weak points. Just a tip you could also check out WoWhead and look at each healing spec where it lists the pro's and con's and see which things you value more personally. Mobility, cooldowns, defensives, crowd control, tank healing, etc. Hope this helps!
Don’t start with Evoker, Monk or Discipline Priest as they are a bit harder to play than the others and/or require precise control over timing and spell rotation. Restauration druid is a bit of an odd ball, whose heals are mostly over time as opposed to other healers’ direct heals. For a very first approach to healing in WoW, i would personnally advice going with either Paladin, Shaman or Holy Priest for the smoothest experience. That being said, if one particular class appeals to you because of its fantasy, its gameplay or something else, go for it ! You’ll learn with any healer anyway, and in the end it’s all just a game so pick what you enjoy the most.
Bottom of A, Top of B, it's a decent line. There are still top end players doing 12s on a druid. Aug and mage help a lot with int buffs, cheat death, and group shielding(mages don't need invis since the pot is off cd from others, so you can keep mass barrier). They typically run with blood dks instead of guardians, so they don't have much tank healing to do. But yes, they do struggle to keep up compared to most.
If you're looking to just pick a main and stay on it forever I would probably say Resto Druid. Every xpac they tend to stay pretty solid. They just have a funky talent tree layout and lack of a lot of burst healing, but definitely still playable and strong.
Three healers are rather consistant but all three healers faces sometimes a bad season. Two of the three are RDruid and Disc(Disc currently doing poorly atm), and the third one is HPaly, however I separated this one from the other two is because I don't know how well they do throughout expansions after their rework as the rework made them super bad in Season 3 and 4 of DF, before rework Hpaly is usually always in the middle or meta.
i would say pick a healer that has a dps you enjoy playing. i mained resto druid for years, since WoD until DF, and i hated boomie and feral, so doing anything but mythic+ content was dreadful, besides boomie and feral are very hit and miss. sometimes they are good, often times they are awful in the meta. resto shaman is pretty solid with a dps spec cuz both ele and enhance are pretty fun and enhance tend to always kinda be good spec, and you have the option to go elementalist build which is quite a lot of button and is hard to play if you enjoy that, and they have an easy build with Stormstrike which has very few buttons and is easy to play but also fun. so like it depends which class you enjoy overall. if you only care about healers and dont care if they are hard or easy, then priest would prob be a good option for you, as holy is very easy and beginner friendly while disc is quite hard and complex class but also often good in the meta
Holy priest or resto sham would be my recommendations for anyone new to healing. This tier list doesn’t really give priest enough credit. They are constantly rolling out buffs/nerfs so just play whatever you like the class fantasy of the most.
All healers have some quirks that can be difficult to learn depending on if you're raiding or keystones. Shamans have a lot of cooldowns and are more forgiving but you'll need to work on cloudburst totem timing long term. Hpal I think is also a good option since you will have the ability to bubble and be immune to give yourself breathing space and keep everyone else alive. Hpal takes my vote personally just for it's cooldown, utility, auras, and it will be a good thing to learn playing closer to melee range. That is regardless of the tier list tbh just my opinion in general. Druid shapeshifting can be overwhelming for new players, Monk playing either a healer or fistweaving build can be a lot to learn, and disc priest isn't a throughput healer but more of a damage preventer so if you fall behind you're doomed. Hpriest can be ok and even if you die you'll still have angel form to heal but priest doesn't bring any interupts and fear isn't the best form of CC to prevent group damage.

I suspect honestly that without the affixes we have had to deal with and since druids tree is kinda meh for pathing there will be other meta options.
Im gonna main PREvoker :) i had so much fun with it in this last season. Disco main since MoP so gonna try new healer
i am a new healer, which is the easiest to get in and start career as healing. I will then progress to the harder ones.
