They need to do a factory recall on these cars because we can't all have the same problem and it be a individual issue

Be sure to file a complaint to the NSTSA (feds) so if they get enough complaints its raised to an investigative level and they can pressure KIA to fix the problem. Its a serious safety issue.

Tried that. Didn’t work for me. Replaced two ignition relays and one starter relay in the power distribution box under the hood. It’s been almost a month and everything still working fine. So I hope I put my finger on my problem. It’s quite possible Kia has many sources for this problem.

not sure if your problem but may help others with similar, my kia Sedona on 08 plate suddenly acted like flat battery with the click from the starter like not enough power, battery was fine ended up being a problem with the gear shifty, try to put in neutral and see if it will start if so then it is the gear shift cable it is behind the plastics in the footwell of the car, in the uk version i got to it through the plastic panel on the left side in the foot well take that off or pull it back and there is a gold coloured loop at the end of the gear shift cable with a nut and bolt loosen and move the cable a little bit forwards tighten and test to see if it starts now (be careful if you pull or push it to far in one direction it will engage other gears so take your time and when starting keep foot on brake till you sure the car not already in a gear) i found my first adjustment made the car reverse but second was the sweet spot and it solved the problem totally and has been fine ever since that was about 2 years ago so back in 2020 June i think. hope it helps some one.

Tap The big square pink relay in the fuse box under the steering wheel and turn the key at the same time and it will start if not immediately but after a few mins. I’m here at Kia in Perris, Ca to get a oil change and it did the same thing. They couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t start and I went into the bay did that and it started. Walked away like a boss 😂😎 taught them a thing or two. I’m like where is my paycheck now lol.

So i don't know if this will help but, replace three relays under hood in the relay/fuse box.
For the 2017 kia Sorento. They are labeled starter and two are labeled ignition. It seemed to make my issue disappear for now its been 3 weeks since I've had the issue. The relays are cheap DIY repairs. Maybe $30 or less for all three relays. I don't know which relay is the culprit because it was too easy to change all three. Further this is an electrical issue and might still be of issue and illusive. Ill post again if problem recurs.

It's a fuse next to the steering wheel panel that you need to give a strong tap/flick to as your starting your car. It's a pink bigger square fuse. Before you try anything else try this. It's free and it works. I promise. Unless it's the starter but try this first

2005 Kia Sedona. Same problem started a few days ago, I've only had it for about 3 months. Starts great, drives great, sometimes for awhile then randomly, it won't start. Current solution is to smack the shit and it works. I'm going to test the fuse theory next time it happens and plan for replacing the cheapest parts at a time until it's fixed. Starter relay, ignition switch, starter. I'll keep ya posted.

Happens to us occasionally also.... first time, after getting a rental and going back to my work, our mechanics at my work tested everything... then I read an article that suggested the dead battery in the keyfob can put it into antileft mode or something like that....i took the keyfob out of the car and then my husband started it like nothing was ever wrong.

I have Kia Sedona 2015 and same symptoms, changed the starter relay however the root cause was the Neutral
Position switch, it detects if selector is on P or N, internal wearing out makes this negative / ground circuit behaves faulty. Randomly start to fail and no crank is the result only click click. In case you need to start, just keep a wire jumper to do it from the starter relay, make sure is in P and switch ON.

I have had this issue happen. I definitely think this model has electric issues. Anyway, I tried to jump the van to no avail and then installed a new battery and again the van wouldnt start. My fix was, after testing the relays, and determined they were working as expected I traced my problem to the negative cable to the battery. I took the old negative cable off and sanded a the metal connection points of both the cable and the connection point on the metal sidewall to insure a solid connection. After I reconnected the battery issue was resolved. Again I think the electrical system is finicky but my problems always come back to the ground cable. About five years before I had another electrical issue where the van would suddenly throw all the error lights and stall completely. I was told it was the battery then told it was the alternator and had both installed but the van only ran until the original charge of the battery ran out and the van stalled again. I installed a new negative cable making sure to sand the metal connection points. After the fix I didn’t have any issue until the recent above. Which again was resolved by sanding and reconnecting the negative cable.

I have a 2011 Sonada. I have the same problem. I believe in is the neutral safety switch. I was replacing the switch but decided it was an adjustment problem. I loosened the control cable where it attaches to the shift lever. It seeks its own position. I would not rotate the switch position. Just a small movement can cause it not to start. I had to play with it to start again. All seems fine now.

There’s two pink fuses big box style. It’s the bottom one, tap on it with your finger as you start the vehicle it will fire up every time. Kia's have a problem with a valve covers leaking and the oil drips into the alternator if this happens you will have to replace the alternator.

I have to turn take the key out of the ignition switch flip it around and then try turning the starter switch several times and then it starts but when it does start it sounds like there's a weakness with power going to the starter I wonder if this has something to do with the relay switch allowing the power to go to the solenoid to open up and send power to the starter? I bypassed IPS module as per you tube video on ruclips.net/video/QUYk4f35xbM/видео.html. Worked for a few weeks then problem again. I replace starter relay under hood in fue box, worked a little. I put car in neutral to start and bypass neutral cut off switch. Worked two weeks. Finally replaced starter with Chinese made starter, not kIA starter. Works so far. You just have to keep trying. some have problem with grounding strap. Try that too. KIA really screwed up big time by not taking responsibility for this. I called them many times, they politely refused to acknowledge the problem was manifold and theirs to fix. They said, take it to dealer. But dealer couldn't find anything wrong. Thousands of people have this problem, but KIA does not acknowledge. That was the last KIA/Hyundai I will ever buy.

this might be your answer. Shows testing and replacement of the starter relay. It also shows replacement of the neutral starter switch. Even shows disassembly of the relay and cleaning of the contacts which was evidently the issue with that relay. Oh forgot the link: ruclips.net/video/1iPCIqrmDBs/видео.html

File complaints to nhtsa.gov. Here they are aggregated and if there enough an investigation is launched. .

I wish I knew what you were saying. Where do you put the wire jumper? How?
