Personally the thing I liked about Prince Phillip is that ordinary super rich and out of touch characters like him tend to try to take shortcuts to gain great power and become all the more obsessed and try to take it by force when something gets in their way. Phillip though tried to do it the right way by training to become a better fighter and using his vast resources for good. When it looked like that wasnt working he was willing to hand over the energem to the rangers so that it could go to someone more worthy. Honestly I thought that was a rather mature character moment for someone like him..
He was worthy. Glad Ivan saved his ancestor. He even let Ivan go from his knightly duties to fulfill his ranger roll. The energem was right after all 😊
Despite the nonsense ending and fart jokes, I really enjoy Dino Charge, mostly because of the likable characters and for the creativity, for the fact that the creators weren't afraid to embrace the fun crazy mystical sci-fy side of Power Ranger, having a team of rangers formed not just by humans but also by aliens, caveman and knight.
@@matthewkoschade1269 Yeah, not to mention it opened the door for many hilarious moments (the knights of Ivan was one of the funniest moments in Power Ranger history, alongside Zhane trying sneak out of ranger duty just so he can have a date with Astronema and every Bulk and Skull scene).
I am so glad I watched this season. I enjoyed it a lot because they made the characters the focus. Even filler episodes showed a lot more than others. The main story of Dino Gem hunting was a backdrop. The characters were the focus. Knowing Sentai with so many filler episodes, this style of writing is genius.
Mentor characters tend to come in 3 flavors: useful and sometimes eventual rangers (Tommy: Dino Thunder, RJ, Doggie Cruger, Doctor K.), sagely wise but otherwise uninvolved (Zordon... mostly Zordon for 5 seasons), or unhelpful and annoying obstacles to the rest of the cast (Keeper, Mentor Ji, and bargain-bin Zordon... I mean Gosei)
@@prince_nocturne Gosei, after a little bit of time, I realized he was the useless version of Zordon, he just wasn't as important to the plot as Zordon. Zordon could seem useless, but at least at the end, he was willing to be destroyed for the good of. others (In Space).
@@kiwiangeldust6912 Ji was pretty useless most of the time, and actively tried to keep the 6th member off the team DESPITE seeing his skills and honor as a warrior / ranger. Though his 'acceptance' of it was 'let's shove a fish into the mouth of someone having PTDS from being a fish.' Because that'll fix 'em, and not give more nightmares of eating himself like he was ALREADY EXPERIENCING. Seriously, Mentor Ji was written just... just so bad. Like pretty much all of Samurai.
And the fact he stolen the mentor role from Zenowing. Zenowing's Sentai counterpart was the mentor but for some reason they thought it was a wonderful idea to demote him to extra pretty much and came up with Keeper.
Hey guys, really sorry for those random, short bits of visual blurriness that occur two or three times. I tried hard to fix the problem to no avail :( Hope you still enjoy the video!
No problem, I'm just really excited to see this video!!! Dino Charge was actually the show that got me to watch Power Rangers again. I had barely seen any Power Rangers since Mystic Force and some of RPM. When I saw this one on Netflix, I decided to give it a shot, and I didn't regret it. I binge watched both seasons in a week or two. I'm still not sure if it's my top favorite (since childhood bias and from how long ago I watched some of the other seasons), but it definitely made me believe in the show again!
@@DJcystrom Same. I hadn't seen anything since SOME of SPD when I thought I was too old for PR. As a young father I saw DCh on Netflix and was like "Oooh, boy. Son, you 'gon learn today" I ended up liking it more than him lol. Then this channel got me to check out Kyoryuger and it might now be my favorite show of all time... other than Zyuranger I hadn't seen any sentai and now have checked out several.
Dino Charge was horrible. The costumes were terrible and the plot was predictable and while nothing is necessarily wrong with predictability, it was just plain bad. The villains weren't much better either. There was that one villain in season 1 (Heckyl) and he was cool but in season 2, he was just wasted. If you want a good dinosaur power rangers, Dino Thunder is where it's at.
Two small things I liked about this season: 1. It has a decent amount of unmorphed fight scenes. Not only is it a healthy independence from Sentai footage, but it also proves that the Rangers can fight heroically without the full extent of their powers, and are therefore more deserving of them. 2. There's a clear reason why the villains attack so close to the Rangers. The monsters don't just _happen_ to attack within running or driving distance; They covet something the Rangers are tasked with protecting, and cause mass destruction to draw them out. It makes a comfortable amount of sense.
Kyle Stubbs that’s literally why all villains attack the rangers. They want something from them or they’re in the way. It really doesn’t make too much sense since unlike other villains, sledge never attacks them in civilian form
William Nguyen Yes, but there’s always the question of “Why are the villains attacking an area _that_ close to the strongest resistance?”. For _Lost Galaxy,_ it’s because they want the Rangers’ Quasar Sabers. For _Lightspeed Rescue,_ it’s because Mariner Bay was built right where Queen Bansheera’s palace used to be. Some seasons have better answers than others, and the Energems in _Dino Charge_ make for a decent explanation in that respect.
Yeah, good point, I didn't realize that until watching some of "The Disney Brain's" videos point that out and it actually made sense why they were there in one spot.
i always appreciated the natural chemistry all of the characters had with each other. i feel this brought dino charge leagues ahead of the other neo saban era shows cause they didn't have to flat out tell the audience "oh gia and emma are best friends" instead every character had a recognized relationship with every other character in the show
The diversity of each ranger's background is what made the season of my personal fav ever. You got ordinary humans, a caveman, a legendary knight, a royal prince, an elderly (before transfered to Kendall), an alien, and a long lost father which form a team. Oh, and don't forget the epic theme songs
The main reason why dino charge is one of my favorites are the relationships. I do believe they are friends who trust and care for each other, something that many seasons fail. There is this group of teens working together to save the planet, but you don't seem them doing things together so often, these dorks, you can see them spending time together and having fun, and you can feel the cast is having fun too. I hope dino knights it's set in the same universe post time shift (that I still hate so much)
The main cast actually lived together too as roommates. This was not done by other seasons. I wonder if that played into it. Brennan and Yoshi both seem very educated and enthusiastic about the show so they might have been more invested than it being "just a job." Again, just speculation.
The dino seasons seem to always be the one of the best season in their specific era of power rangers MMPR - worst of the dino seasons but had iconic characters. When people think of PR they think of Jason, Billy, Zack, Trini, Kimberly and Tommy that last one being in many seasons outside of his debut. It actually creates creative reasons for the new power ups unlike some other seasons *cough* megaforce *cough* Dino Thunder: Best legacy season and it perfectly balances both the old and new rangers. It adds resolution to Tommy's story while Conner, Ethan, Kira and Trent come out as more well rounded individuals Dino Charge: It came after the worst anniversary seasons yet never had the same problems (thanks to Judd Lynn). Firing Tzachor was the best decision that came from the neo saban era and it shows through the writing (which has significantly improved)
Dino fury: finally a medieval themed power rangers show! Although the pink Rangers zord was a complete copy of the aqua rangers zord the zord designs were cool and the story was pretty original.
People are way too harsh on Super Charge. It did spin its wheels a bit and wasn't as good as the first season, but it wasn't bad... outside the ridiculous final episode.
I agree. I think we expected Super to continue to build up better and better than DC but it didn't so when it didn't get better and better (and actually got a bit worse) it FELT like a huge fall from grace. It didn't meet high expectations then stumbled a bit... not exactly deserving of a lynch mob.
I really hope hasbro moves PR off of nickelodean, and either partnering with another streaming site or something else entirely. I think getting PR off of nickelodean, would shake off that nickeldean feel to their show. So hasbro can truly say that it isnt apart of regular tv, and that PR can evolve and change as a franchise as well.
I guess it would be good to air either the cube animal sentai, or the train one instead. Cause if I was in charge I would keep kyuranger and Lupin vs. Pat on the back burner to make them perfect, and to truly say these are the hasbro seasons and no one elses.
@@SK-yx7hm I somewhat agree, although I will be wanting some PR versions of the Cops & Thieves, if it's so that they can be truly great seasons that can hopefully at least match up with their SS counterparts then I can bare thru with the wait
matthew koschade I hope Hasbro could pay enough to make it as big as their other franchises. My Little Pony and Transformers are very popular, so this needs to be a whole step up after Beast Morphers.
Dino charge and even Dino super charge were pretty much the only good live action Nickelodeon shows at the time. Besides, they’re SO much better in terms of acting compared to Henry Danger and game shakers.
Sledge and Snide are without a doubt my favorite villains of the franchise which says a lot since I’ve watched since the debut of Day of the Dumpster. For Sledge it’s more about how Saban made him a legitimate boss. Take MMPR, the rangers beat Goldar, Rita’s right-hand man, in their first fight causing him to retreat; contrast this to Sledge and his group proving they’re not to be taken lightly despite their comedic arguments among each other. The rangers couldn’t win, they needed more experience, more training, more gear. As for Snide, he was the definition of evil. This guy was the most two-faced, backstabbing villain I’ve seen throughout any Power Rangers series. He stabs Heckyl in the back, betrays Lord Arcanon even defeating every zord combination Arcanon’s crew threw at him, and was going to turn on Sledge albeit Sledge did it first which lead to Snide’s destruction against the rangers, Ultrazord, and Heckyl.
Me before watching Dino charge: This Keeper looks like a wise mentor that can help the rangers when they have problems Me after watching Dino charge: He is there... sometimes
7:07 "Keeper is also there…" That made me laugh WAY harder than it should’ve. Great job with the video as always, Brain. I especially love the emphasis you put on the Energems as "character catalysts." It’s an interesting topic I've yet to see be discussed in regards to Dino Charge, so it was really cool to see you tackle it
Personally, I don't think Supercharge was all that bad, it's still one of the best Neo-Saban seasons. If you ask me, Dino Charge was more character-driven while Supercharge felt more 'plot'-driven. Either way, Dino (Super) Charge is easily at the top of the Neo-Saban era for me, and just an overall fun experience P.S: There's more to talk about with Riley in the next season
Dino charge was just fantastic. I love how the core 6 are similar personality wise to their Sentai counterparts (with the exception of Shelby and Amy in my personal opinion) but are still their own unique characters. I had watched most of Kyoryuger before Dino charge came out so I had high hopes for it. And boy am I glad that Saban did it justice
I've noticed that 2 Dino Charge rangers was named after 2 important Kamen Rider Characters . Prince Phillip (Graphite Ranger) was named after Phillip from Kamen Rider W and Chase Randall (Black Ranger) was named after Chase from Kamen Rider Drive. Coincidentally, Dino Charge's Sentai counterpart was written by the same guy who wrote W and Drive.
Out of all the Neo-Saban seasons, Dino Charge is my favorite because of the retconning in the first episode and the interesting and diverse personalities of the rangers. It’s mostly the dialogue and some story plots that need some work
This would be cool, specially if the series have a style similar to Time Force, with the rangers (which by to way I think they should be called Power Ranger Knights of Zandar) been time displaced knights much like Ivan and, much like Tommy Oliver did for the Dino Thunder Rangers, Ivan could act as the mentor of the group helping them adjust to the modern day, just like the Dino Charge Rangers did for Ivan.
Love the idea. Really have fun playing with the implications of dinosaurs still being around and all implications therein. But I think that might also be the reason they could choose NOT to do that... it might be a bit too complicated
My pitch for how could be Hasbro's adaptation of Ryusoulger: Title : Power Rangers Jurassic Knights Plot : 5000 years ago there were a huge war between mankind and Archfiends, monsters and demons who lived for conquer and destruction. The Archfiends end up finding their challenges in the kingdom of Avalon, in which they were confronted by a group of brave knights and their allies, the Jurassic Beastzords. In the end of the war, Avalon sorcerers were able to seal the Archfiends. While the survivers of Avalon went to island to rebuild their kingdom, the sorcerers granted eternal youth to one of the knights, given him the mission to stay behind and watch over the Archfiends, knowing full well that someday the seal would break and the Archfiends would be free to take over the world. The series would take place in the modern day, in which it would be revealed that the Avalon people still alive and well, living in a island, hidden by magic. Knowing that the Archfiends are about to escape and that their magic would not be able to prevent that, the Avalon leaders would select 5 young knights in training to send to the "ancient world" to protect it from the villains. Despite keeping the fun moments, unlike the recent ranger seasons, in my pitch, Power Rangers Jurassic Knights would a more balanced tone to it, having also some drama and serious moments exploring the rangers past and their dynamics, much like Lost Galaxy and Time Force. The series would also have some connections and references to other seasons. For exemple, it would be revealed that the Archfiends are supernatural creatures like the demons from Lightspeed Rescue; The Jurrasic zords are actually Galactic beast that came to Earth to help the knights; It would be revelaed that one of the allies of Avalon were the Animarium warriors. Heroes Tristan (Red ranger) - He would be the charming and friendly leader of the group. Unlike the other Rangers, who had parents and family, Tristan was a orphan who was taken in by one the Avalon knights, who saw potential in the young man. due to the bullying he suffer for being a poor kid from the streets, Tristan decide to become a knight in order to gain the people's respect and approval. Despite been a little brash and over confident, Tristan is not a fool and always tries to find better solutions to help his friends . Diana (Pink Ranger) - The badass and determinate member of the girl. Diana backstory is kind similar to Disney's Mulan, since she became a ranger in order to replace her father, who was sick at the time. This causes Diana to always tries to dedicate herself to improve and become a better warrior, in order to save the world and live up to her father's expectations. Marcus ( Blue Ranger) - He would be the wise and curious member of the group.Despite coming from a mystical island. Marcus would become fascinated by mordern society science an inventions, slowy using this knowloge to improve and create more weapons for the team to help in the fight against the villains. In his backstory it would be revelaed that he became a knight against the wishes of his mother, who wanted him to become a librarian like his father and brother. Wally (Green Ranger) - The young and impulsive member of the group. Wally's main arc would be his attempts to prove his worthy as warrior and gain independence of his brother Hal and in the process becoming a more experient warrior and also a more understanding brother. Hal (Black Ranger) - The kind and overly protective member of the group. Hal's arc would be him learning to not be so overly protective and accept his brother evolution as warrior. Gabe (Gold Ranger) - The shy and clumsy member of the group as well the link of the heroes with the modern world. At first Gabe would be just the comic relief, in same way as Bulk and Skull, but always showing loyalty to the rangers and trying to help them. This would lead to the "Jurrasic Gold Ranger arc", in which the rangers would recive help from a mysterious gold ranger, who know who they are and has weapon that the ranger never saw before. Despite never appearing unmorphed, this gold ranger would become a ally of the rangers during season one, as well a friend and mentor for Gabe. As the series moves the conclusion of it's first season, the gold ranger would start to become weak. This would result in the revelation that he is actually Gabe from a alternative future, who travel back in time to help the rangers during a battle in which they were defeated. Because he change history, the gold ranger is now ceasing to exist. Before he disappear, the gold ranger would pass his powers to Gabe, who would be inspire by his future self to finally embrace the hero inside of him and help the rangers as the new Gold Ranger. Just like his future self was able to change his destiny and became a hero in his timeline, Gabe was able to do the same. Sir Jon - He would be the last of the knights who fought against the Archfiends in the past, reciving from Avalon's sorcerers eternal youth, so he could live until mordern day to be the mentor of the new generation of rangers. Jon is noble and act as father figure to the rangers, and despite been tough sometimes, he truly cares for his disciples. He possess as armor he can use to help the rangers. However, the use of the armor drains his energy granted by the spell that kept him alive all these years. If he uses the armor for a long period of time, he will cease to exist. Villains Much like Jungle Fury, despite the Archfiends having many members, only two specific would be important for series itself : Lady Arkana - She would be the cunning and manipulative sorcerer of the Archfiends, helping the group against the rangers, but secretly working on her own agenda, wanting to become the leader of the group. In the end of the season 1, she would take over the Archfiends becoming the main villain in season 2 Zarc the Archfiend Knight - He would be mysterious and badass knight of the villains. Unlike the other archfiends, Zarc, at first, actually possess human form, using a mystical armor to fight the rangers. As the series progress it would be revealed more about Zarc past: He was actually Aaron, Sir Jon first apprentice. Much like the rangers he wanted to be a knight, but because he was rejected by Avalon's sorcerers and leaders, he became angered and was corrupted by power, wanting to destroy the Jurassic Knights so he could become the only knight alive. Much like Trakeena and Master Org, Zarc would slowly lose his humanity and in the end would gain a monster form and become the final villain for the rangers to fight.
Dude this is amazing! Same title I came up with as well and one of the previous commenters. My plan was to have it where they would not see them as rangers but only as Jurassic Knights until they meet a former ranger who recognises them as ranger. Later revealing that the ranger is Gaisoulg well the dubbed one until whatever happens and they become the red rangers power up.
@@Waltbe09Great ideia. I thought in something similar although, there would be some differences: 1) As you said, the rangers wouldn't know about the tearm power rangers. They would learn this from Gabe, the first human they became friends (he would be a amalgamation of Ui Tatsui with Ryusoul Gold). Not only Gabe would work not only as the rangers link to the modern world but also to the rangers mythology and traits, resulting in many references and fun moments (ex: when the rangers are gonna morph, Gabe's the one who say "well rangers, It's morphin time" and the rangers just look at him like "what? what 's morphin?" because they refer to their transformation as "armor up") 2) About Gaisoulg, in my idea, his version, Zarc, the Archfiend knight would be one of the villains generals, and his backstory would be kind similar to Darth Vader or Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda, in which he was a disciple of Sir Jon, the ranger's mentor ( and also american version of Ryusoul Brown). Zarc used to be good student, with a noble heart , who just wanted to become a knight, however, the Avalon sages saw evil in his heart and reject him. Feeling rejected and betrayed by Avalon's people and his master, Zarc was corrupt by power and joinned forces with the Archfiends. This not only would tie-in Zarc to the rangers mentor but would also give much more depth for his fights against the rangers, since the rangers would be fighting against a villan who represent what they could become if they take a dark path to achive their goals.
Kyoryuger was one of the first Sentai Series that I watched in full in... well over a decade. And the first time I'd seen the Sentai before the Power Rangers adaptation. I freaking LOVED Kyoryuger. I loved that King was just this larger than life character that really was exactly what he said he was. His blunt, straight-forward attitude was hilarious and a bit refreshing to see. The team as a whole was great. So I had high hopes for Dino Charge, and for the most part, they did pretty well. Though... that writers strike was felt in Super. Then super missed obvious opportunity to make Heckyl the Cyan Ranger. i mean, c'mon! The dude had the cyan streak in his hair and favored light blue colors in his clothes. He was basically telegraphing he'd become the Cyan Ranger from his introduction! Probably follow the Tommy Oliver trope of evil ranger turned good in the end, just... a lot darker at the start. I feel like it was probably the original idea, even if he was going to only get it temporarily, but... no.
Shelby is by far the best power ranger we have had since 2009. And she's not just one of my favorite Neo Saban Rangers but one of my favorite rangers of all time and I think Camille Hyde is such an amazing Actress and I think she'll go far with acting. I am sad tho she never returned in either of the team up episodes we had since Dino Charge as she is one in my opinion who was most deserving.
Definitely the turning point. I say this yet I keep forgetting that Ninja Steel existed. Dino Charge and Beast Morphers saved the show. And they're both extremely rewatchable, something I can't say about the Super Duper Samurai Force seasons.
Personally, I like Dino Charge. Minus the fart jokes and the headache-inducing ending. Season 1 was great, while season 2 was...eh. It had great moments, but not enough for me to call it good. Overall, I'd give Dino Charge as a whole a 6/10. Definitely the best of the Neo Saban era, though the restrictions by Nick held it back a lot.
I actually liked this series, it wasn't as great compared to the older ones, but I still enjoyed it. My favorite characters were Kendall Morgan, Shelby Watkins, and even Riley Griffin.
Also, great video brain, I completely agree dino charge felt smoother than the previous seasons of the Saban era definitely best part of neo Saban, just wish that the prior seasons were handled that way, reactions would have been more positive I believe
I grew up with Dino Charge. When I first found out about it, I didn’t know what Power Rangers are. But since cool looking super heroes and dinosaur robots sounds extremely cool, me and my mom bought tons of Dino Charge toys, I watched lots of clips from Dino Charge on RUclips, and watched a bunch of episodes. I even bought myself a costume of Riley. (I think I shouldn’t have bought so many zords and weapons because I only had 2 action figures which I basically murdered)
shelby is a great character, she literally strayed away from the plan the team had planned out just to help her friend get recognised for his drawings!
Having watched Dino Charge, Tyler is a breath of fresh air compared to the stoic “brave, do-it-on-my-own-god-complex” Rangers like Jayden and Troy (no offense to them, but they're just so severe and brooding, and that's their only trait). He's brave, enthusiastic, and sincere, like Leo, Wes, Carter, TJ, etc.
I hated Riley. Not only was he often trying to prove himself/stroke his ego (to the point of using his power for personal gain), but the premise of his character was just bizarre. He was raised on a farm in a rural environment, yet somehow he had access to a fencing sword and seemed to have access to great schools? I mean that stuff can be within reach of rural areas, but usually only to rich people living in those areas. Riley’s family didn’t exactly strike me as being rich. I think Phillip would’ve been a more natural fit for a brilliant, egotistical fencer.
@Prabhjot GHOTRA honestly if they were gonna have the bird like creature be part of things anyway, they shouldve just had Xenowing be the freaking mentor. It wouldve saved time and money and we wouldnt have had so much pointless bullcrap.
Ironic that one of the best Power Rangers seasons (RPM) was made when Disney didn't care at all, and yet Saban tried to put in a DECENT amount of effort into PR (depending on the season) and we only got one good season. I get that Disney doesn't care about Power Rangers, but they should buy it back from Hasbro
Dino Charge was amazing! However, they had a few minor misopertunitys in the romance department. For example, they could have expanded on Tyler and Shelbys Relationship. They could have easily been the better version of Calvin and Hayley. Another very minor issue is that PR had a chance for their first LGBT couple in Chase and Riley. They had their differences but in the episode “The tooth hurts” or something like that they could have chance hear Riley’s heartfelt apology and boom it would have all came together. And it would have been an amazing landmark, because kids need to know that it’s ok to be you and that you’ll always be loved. Again, these were very minor issues but would have been amazing if they had been fixed. And thanks for reading my mile long comment lol
I really enjoy it Dino charge, but I just feel that run shorter. the cast works great mostly the guys but the girls have a lot of personal grown. there were a lot of things that maybe a re-watch makes it better since you don't get at first. the energems were great. there are some details that sometimes are problematic but works overall. great video.
Dino Charge was the power rangers show that actually had character development, like able characters, decent to good acting, comedic and serious moments, likable villains, cool ranger designs, a good gimmick and a great sentai to adapt from
Very great points here. Some I didn't think of and you well pointed out. Others I disagreed with at first and you won me over. I'm surprised, then later impressed, at your view on the energems. I never thought too hard about them until it came to "well if they (blank) then why..." so I always ended up looking at them from a lore point of view. I focused on where they failed. You made great redeeming points about where they succeeded. I was wondering how your opinion on Kyoryuger skew your view. You have more than earned my respect as an annalist an essayist so I shouldn't have doubted you.
Dino Charge had potential (minus the Fart jokes) and Dino Super Change *RUINED* that potential. Shame that 2004's Dino Thunder is still leagues better.
Well the Lion King in my opinion did the fart jokes correctly especially with the character Pumbaa unlike the ones seen in bad cartoons like Teen Titans Go!, Breadwinners, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, new Johnny Test and Butt Ugly Martians plus live action shows like Power Rangers Dino Charge/Dino Super Charge, Power Rangers Ninja Steel/Super Ninja Steel and the later episodes of Wizards of Warvery Place.
Moussa Mains Roy we would have been update to with power rangers ( we would have been on lupinranger vs patroranger ) but Nick is too Blame and I blame some of the writers
The reason Nick is to blame it bc of their episode policy and I blame some of writers bc it’s better than what we had before but it still kinda not there
I think people were just glad to have Saban in the name again... Does Beast Morphers give you deja vu? It's adapted a very late sentai. Are you scared for the future of Hasbro?
Will Smyser I think hasbro can do better it’s just their first trial run , I would like it for to be a little dark or mid like in the old days it’s too kiddy but I understand if they can’t control it since their on Nicki and I’m happy with that they are doing for beast morphers bc it’s a lot originality there instead of just using Sentai stock footage and going along with it
It’s crazy because I just now realized that in this season, they showed little cool Easter egg, when they introduced us to Heckyl in episode 1, if you noticed, they showed the vampire monster from power rangers mystic force locked up in the cell
It's hard not to agree with how they handled Riley. The way I see it, he's supposed to be on the 'theory' side of the smart spectrum while Shelby is on the 'practical' end with Kendall being in the middle. His focus is on how to logically solve problems, and that's fine, but there's no real progression with it. It makes it even worse since in later episodes he's driven to act in complete contrast by allowing his emotions, specifically with being competitive, to take over. Of the main 5, he definitely has the most wasted potential.
I still disappointed that saban didnt adapt deathryuger in dino charge How did spino zord appear in dino charge but not deathryuger? Both are only appear in movie
My guess is that, at that time, they did not have the rights to the movies... only the season. Spino is in a season-proper episode. Deathryuger is only from the movie. Clearly they now have movie rights so we are getting the Dino-Team Up footage. That was literally the first thing I thought of when they announced beast morphers and Hasbro taking the reigns... "I hope they get rights to movies... cause GoBusters were in that DinoTeamUp movie... so maybe....."
Why didn’t they adapt deboss in Dino super charge why wasn’t he in Dino super charge along side lord aracon, doomwing segie or why didn’t sledge become or return as him
Well, well, well. I bought a few volumes for ten bucks a pop on my Xbox. And it's awesome :) So wholesome, so awesome. The special effects tho, all fantastic. Best sleeper hit random decision of 2023. Been getting back into watching episodes after we had lost the original green ranger may he rest in peace. Watching this show is like watching a video game happen without me having to pick up the controller, could go into sleep comas what with the 6 volumes it has, but good, nostalgic sleep comas from watching good show. Show is pure 🔥
While dinocharge has at least structure and good acting and directing, I still feel it’s a lackluster season not as bad as previous but still not great. I hear a lot of people call dinochrage the “exception” of bad Saban seasons but a lot of the problem I feel still persist. The characters still have the tell and not showing problem except they try to fix it but only partly. They try to have characters show their personality through their actions but then quickly just flat out say what a character is. I hear people say Tyler is a good character and well devleioled but I don’t see any of that. Tyler is still pretty one dimensional and has no personality other than “excitable cool leader”. The other characters just sorta blend in.
I think the title says it all. "Dino Charge: Neo-Saban's peak." That's not saying much since this is the same brand that brought us a monster being defeated by fucking flour.

Hi
"Keeper is also there..."
Yep, that's about his contribution to Dino Charge as a whole
Mentor characters tend to come in 3 flavors: useful and sometimes eventual rangers (Tommy: Dino Thunder, RJ, Doggie Cruger, Doctor K.), sagely wise but otherwise uninvolved (Zordon... mostly Zordon for 5 seasons), or unhelpful and annoying obstacles to the rest of the cast (Keeper, Mentor Ji, and bargain-bin Zordon... I mean Gosei)
Prince_Nocturne Eh mentor Ji wasn’t that bad
I loved Dino Charge. It was so fun and the closest Neo Saban got to the Disney glory era.
You mean saban era?

Hey guys, really sorry for those random, short bits of visual blurriness that occur two or three times. I tried hard to fix the problem to no avail :(
Hope you still enjoy the video!
No problem, you really put a lot of effort in your videos.Have a great day😁😁😁
No problem, I'm just really excited to see this video!!!
The Keeper of Dino Charge must know Zordon and Gosei!
@@DJcystrom Same. I hadn't seen anything since SOME of SPD when I thought I was too old for PR. As a young father I saw DCh on Netflix and was like "Oooh, boy. Son, you 'gon learn today"
I ended up liking it more than him lol.
Two small things I liked about this season:
First episode of Dino Charge season 1 had entirely 0% Sentai footage so yeah, just thought I'd mention that since you said Sentai Footage.
I agree. One of my favorite casts of rangers.
Yeah, another thing that I noticed in Dino Charge, they were a more tightly-knit group without too much drama, but still close.
The dino seasons seem to always be the one of the best season in their specific era of power rangers
MMPR - worst of the dino seasons but had iconic characters. When people think of PR they think of Jason, Billy, Zack, Trini, Kimberly and Tommy that last one being in many seasons outside of his debut. It actually creates creative reasons for the new power ups unlike some other seasons *cough* megaforce *cough*
Dino Thunder: Best legacy season and it perfectly balances both the old and new rangers. It adds resolution to Tommy's story while Conner, Ethan, Kira and Trent come out as more well rounded individuals
Dino Charge: It came after the worst anniversary seasons yet never had the same problems (thanks to Judd Lynn). Firing Tzachor was the best decision that came from the neo saban era and it shows through the writing (which has significantly improved)
Hope dino fury is the same
Dino fury: finally a medieval themed power rangers show!
At least I like every episode
It had too much filler
I agree. I think we expected Super to continue to build up better and better than DC but it didn't so when it didn't get better and better (and actually got a bit worse) it FELT like a huge fall from grace. It didn't meet high expectations then stumbled a bit... not exactly deserving of a lynch mob.
KnightRaymund that’s because the show is already average on its own
@@MidwestTokuwhat does that mean
I really hope hasbro moves PR off of nickelodean, and either partnering with another streaming site or something else entirely. I think getting PR off of nickelodean, would shake off that nickeldean feel to their show. So hasbro can truly say that it isnt apart of regular tv, and that PR can evolve and change as a franchise as well.
I fully agree with you. But I think Hashbro is under contract to air PR on Nick for another 2 to 4 years,
I guess it would be good to air either the cube animal sentai, or the train one instead.
And hopefully that will mean Power Rangers can get some actual respect like they used to
matthew koschade I hope Hasbro could pay enough to make it as big as their other franchises. My Little Pony and Transformers are very popular, so this needs to be a whole step up after Beast Morphers.
Dino Charge and Supercharge was a great season. I hope that Ryusoulgers adaptation takes notes from this season.
Me before watching Dino charge:
This Keeper looks like a wise mentor that can help the rangers when they have problems
Me after watching Dino charge:
He is there... sometimes
7:07 "Keeper is also there…"
That made me laugh WAY harder than it should’ve. Great job with the video as always, Brain. I especially love the emphasis you put on the Energems as "character catalysts." It’s an interesting topic I've yet to see be discussed in regards to Dino Charge, so it was really cool to see you tackle it
I would say Philip is one of the most underrated rangers of all time, he could be one of the greats if there was more spotlight
Yes! His human side, which is rare among royalties, is what makes him a true ranger
my second fav ranger in Dino charge my first is chase.
Personally, I don't think Supercharge was all that bad, it's still one of the best Neo-Saban seasons. If you ask me, Dino Charge was more character-driven while Supercharge felt more 'plot'-driven. Either way, Dino (Super) Charge is easily at the top of the Neo-Saban era for me, and just an overall fun experience
P.S: There's more to talk about with Riley in the next season
Interesting how you say “plot” driven
Dino charge and super dino charge >>>>> megaforce and super megaforce.
I always loved their Halloween and Christmas clip show episodes, because all four of them really made me fall in love with Dino charge all over again.
"Keeper is there" yeah that basically sums up his whole involvement lol.
Claire Blackwelder as Ms. Morgan she’s so talented.
Out of all the Neo-Saban seasons, Dino Charge is my favorite because of the retconning in the first episode and the interesting and diverse personalities of the rangers. It’s mostly the dialogue and some story plots that need some work
I really loved Dino Charge. It's one of my top 10 favorite seasons of Power Rangers.
Should ryusoulger's adaptation be dino charge sequel?
Maybe it can take place in dino charge earth & they are knight of zandar & was mentored by ivan
If that happened I think adapting some ideas from Dino Force Brave would help too.
And they both have the dame colors of rangers
Power Rangers: Knights of Old
This is the best Neo Saban season/series of Power rangers.
My pitch for how could be Hasbro's adaptation of Ryusoulger:
Title : Power Rangers Jurassic Knights
Plot : 5000 years ago there were a huge war between mankind and Archfiends, monsters and demons who lived for conquer and destruction.
Heroes
Tristan (Red ranger) - He would be the charming and friendly leader of the group.
Villains
Much like Jungle Fury, despite the Archfiends having many members, only two specific would be important for series itself :
Lady Arkana - She would be the cunning and manipulative sorcerer of the Archfiends, helping the group against the rangers, but secretly working on her own agenda, wanting to become the leader of the group. In the end of the season 1, she would take over the Archfiends becoming the main villain in season 2
Zarc the Archfiend Knight - He would be mysterious and badass knight of the villains.
You stole my title! 😄
@@shanthegamer21 Really? Holy coincidence!
I was in doubt if the title should be this, Dino Knights or Dinos & Dragons
Awesome amazing
Dude this is amazing! Same title I came up with as well and one of the previous commenters. My plan was to have it where they would not see them as rangers but only as Jurassic Knights until they meet a former ranger who recognises them as ranger. Later revealing that the ranger is Gaisoulg well the dubbed one until whatever happens and they become the red rangers power up.
@@Waltbe09Great ideia. I thought in something similar although, there would be some differences:
1) As you said, the rangers wouldn't know about the tearm power rangers. They would learn this from Gabe, the first human they became friends (he would be a amalgamation of Ui Tatsui with Ryusoul Gold). Not only Gabe would work not only as the rangers link to the modern world but also to the rangers mythology and traits, resulting in many references and fun moments (ex: when the rangers are gonna morph, Gabe's the one who say "well rangers, It's morphin time" and the rangers just look at him like "what? what 's morphin?" because they refer to their transformation as "armor up")
2) About Gaisoulg, in my idea, his version, Zarc, the Archfiend knight would be one of the villains generals, and his backstory would be kind similar to Darth Vader or Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda, in which he was a disciple of Sir Jon, the ranger's mentor ( and also american version of Ryusoul Brown).
Davi Santos' portrayal of Sir Ivan has to be one of the best, if not the best acting from the franchise.
This was a good season. The whole cast was good.
Dino charge was the first power rangers I ever watched. It holds a special place with me
Kyoryuger was one of the first Sentai Series that I watched in full in... well over a decade.
You know, Shelby Watkins looks like a grownup live action Libby Folfax from “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius”
TALK ABOUT IT!!
I will give dino charge a 7/10 and super charge a 5/10
I really liked Dino Charge and Dino SuperCharge. They both were, to quote Tyler, awesome!
Let’s be honest, Dino charge and super charge we’re the only good live action Nickelodeon shows at the time

Facts..
Dino Charge is a solid Power Rangers show and toy line.
His dad might have been a fencing champion?
Timdog041198 O'Keefe Why then would he hide while he’s practicing fencing? He would have no reason to do that if his dad was a fencing champion.
Maybe his dad died before Dino charge?
Timdog041198 O'Keefe Then they probably would’ve made an episode where Riley talked about that, but they didn’t.
There ain't nothing wrong with riley
Keeper's also there.
aliastheabnormal loll I don’t understand tht but it’s funny
There's no reason for him to be there cuz he is barely around and doesn't do anything aside from give vague advice.
@Prabhjot GHOTRA honestly if they were gonna have the bird like creature be part of things anyway, they shouldve just had Xenowing be the freaking mentor. It wouldve saved time and money and we wouldnt have had so much pointless bullcrap.
one of the best seasons to watch.
Dino Charge was actually my first Power Rangers series.
I was in a dino-loving phase, and this was showing in Cartoon Network.
I thought it aired on Nickelodeon back in 2015. Did they also air on Cartoon Network?
Ironic that one of the best Power Rangers seasons (RPM) was made when Disney didn't care at all, and yet Saban tried to put in a DECENT amount of effort into PR (depending on the season) and we only got one good season. I get that Disney doesn't care about Power Rangers, but they should buy it back from Hasbro
I'd hardly call Samurai, Megaforce and Ninja Steel "decent" effort
@@ashhabimran239 In terms of trying to actually market the show and grow the brand

I almost hated all of the red rangers
They were too serious and bland but Tyler was hilarious and amazing
15:02 Kendal was The Impostor 😂
Great season analysis. Many interesting points.
each character having their own personality and backstory is one of the best things about this season
Hi
Well the Lion King in my opinion did the fart jokes correctly especially with the character Pumbaa unlike the ones seen in bad cartoons like Teen Titans Go!, Breadwinners, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, new Johnny Test and Butt Ugly Martians plus live action shows like Power Rangers Dino Charge/Dino Super Charge, Power Rangers Ninja Steel/Super Ninja Steel and the later episodes of Wizards of Warvery Place.

My favorite villain in this season were Heckyl and Snide
Heckyl because he was the brains and Snide was a fucking wildcard
I like how dino charge characters stand out and are given time for development and the zord are thr coolest my favourite pwr
SPD WAS THE BOMB OKAY THAT SHIT WAS THE SHIT
the way he described the pink ranger makes her sound like a mary sue tbh
@Drive Check. She's the MVP of her squad though
Knights of Zandar Beach was hilarious.
Am I the only one that had a bad feeling about the Neo Saban Era since they adapted a Sentai that we were TWO YEARS LATE on
Moussa Mains Roy we would have been update to with power rangers ( we would have been on lupinranger vs patroranger ) but Nick is too Blame and I blame some of the writers
Hasbro Era has been good and look how old that Sentai is.
Will Smyser I think hasbro can do better it’s just their first trial run , I would like it for to be a little dark or mid like in the old days it’s too kiddy but I understand if they can’t control it since their on Nicki and I’m happy with that they are doing for beast morphers bc it’s a lot originality there instead of just using Sentai stock footage and going along with it
Hurry up with supercharge. I can't wait.
It’s crazy because I just now realized that in this season, they showed little cool Easter egg, when they introduced us to Heckyl in episode 1, if you noticed, they showed the vampire monster from power rangers mystic force locked up in the cell
Hey Disney brain can you give Disney it’s brain back? Star Wars really needs it right now.
nice one
Good Luck & Happy Easter This is going to be fun.
Been waiting for this for eons now.
I still disappointed that saban didnt adapt deathryuger in dino charge
How did spino zord appear in dino charge but not deathryuger?
Both are only appear in movie
Heckyl becomes the Dark Ranger (Deathryuger) in the Beyond the Grid storyline in the MMPR Boom!Studios comic.
They also appear in episode 39 of Kyoryuger as well, though.
@@GuillermoSmyser That can't be it since they used the suit for a movie villain for Snide.
Why didn’t they adapt deboss in Dino super charge why wasn’t he in Dino super charge along side lord aracon, doomwing segie or why didn’t sledge become or return as him
Well, well, well.
I bought a few volumes for ten bucks a pop on my Xbox.
And it's awesome :)
So wholesome, so awesome.
It’s sad that this was the peak of a era
I enjoy fart jokes, so my humor s weird so I'd like the neo saban power rangers.
Disney Brain. Its good to see you again
Dylan Sharp I never said any of that.,.,
Brennan is one of my favorite
2:47 The de aging speaks more with Koda and Ivan because they should be gone by the time the other rangers were born
I think the title says it all. "Dino Charge: Neo-Saban's peak." That's not saying much since this is the same brand that brought us a monster being defeated by fucking flour.
When was that?
@@bengilhooly3616 Glytcher from Megaforce's Halloween special ""Raising Spirits." Ya want the worst episode of Megaforce? Check out "Last Laugh." It's probably one of the worst in the whole goddamn franchise.
What would be your favorite Power Rangers outfits? And I'm not just talking individual here!
I find it funny the season with 10 rangers gets the most characterization.
I love dino charge its my favorite season
