    Those are both ESP LTD EC-256 guitars made in the same Indonesian factory a month apart. Besides the colour and the maple top they should be similar in quality but they are not. Each of them has their own problems as most affordable guitars do.

    I have a black satin EC256 (2017, China) and happy with it. It was well set, one screw hole for the tuner was messed up a bit though. I upgraded it with locking tuners and with the HetSet. She is a real beast now.

      Talking of the Het set, I’ve got them on order for my epiphone slash vermillion, but……., the guitar sounds so damn nice as it is that I’m now considering getting the Ltd EC 256 and putting the Het set into that 🤔

    Bro, your explanation is what I need regarding ESP and LTD. Most people just write how good or bad their guitar without giving clear explanation. I hope you can do the same comparison among LTD 1000 series, E-II, and ESP original series. Hopefully from the same production year.
    FYI, a member form ESP fanatic on FB points out. All LTD ec series use all mahogany body with no maple cap at all. They only use maple veneer to make the guitar prettier. This veneer is also used on E-II series. Basically only guitar with ESP logo uses a real figured maple cap.

    • @GeorgeVGuitars
      @GeorgeVGuitars  2 года назад

      Thank you Randy. Yeah I plan to do as much LTD, ESP and EII as possible. By the way the veneer on the purple 256 is done extremely good. You can barely see that its not a real flamed top even with the pickups out of the guitar.

    After owning the EC-401 for a decade, I got the EC-256 Sunburst as a Christmas present. I loved it so much, I bought the Cobalt Blue version a month later. I noticed right away the Cobalt Blue's neck seemed thicker and the guitar feels a lot heavier. I am pleased with both, but this has always kinda bothered me. BTW, I would like another EC-401, but those are now almost double the price of what I paid in 2012 ($600 vs $1000 now).

    most of the stuff that you mention relates to humidity. Some of the factories where these guitars are made are sweatshops and very humid. the guitars travel across the globe in cold shipping containers and the wood goes through many transitions. You spent a lot of time on useless points. Guitar screws, bindings, sharp fret ends happen to all guitars with major temperature changes. One of the major stores where I live went through a major renovation and all of their guitars were not stored properly and were subject to 20% humidity at 20 degrees celcius. Long story short. all of their 5k guitars had sharp fret ends after a month. Sound is all that matters. The rest can be fixed. Shipping back guitars with sharp fret ends is the decision of a small mind. Increase the humidity to 50% at 20 degrees celcius and wait a month. then perform a fret level, clean up and oiling. good as new.

    • @GeorgeVGuitars
      @GeorgeVGuitars  Год назад +1

      There is a timestamp, you can skip the useless points ;) Also, calling most beginners, and consumers in general "small minded" is kind of silly (That's an entry level guitar). Not everybody wants to fret level a guitar themselves ;)
      Also, what are u, the Humidity Police? 💦👀

    • @deans.4705
      @deans.4705 Год назад

      The point is that you should never judge guitars that just came from the from the factory. A proper setup includes a fret level. There are way too many videos that do more harm than good on the internet. Yours is one of them that spreads misinformation.

      @@deans.4705 I have been working in a guitar store for 9 years now. The percentage of people that play guitars out of the box and never set them up is way above 50. So judging them out of the box is not misinformation.

      @@GeorgeVGuitars Man you are amazing! Thank you so much! I feel it is a little bit too thin. I wish I could buy an EC-1000T with full thickness, but it is just way out of my league. I am looking for a screamer to comfortably play sitting down so probably the Epiphone Jerry Cantrell Wino is a better choice for that. Although I do prefer the modern look of the EC-256 with the flag inlays, waving flag pointy headstock and the extra jumbo frets.
