- Hallo hallo ... Such a pleasure to be back. It's been a while since I have posted anything but I hope that I will be excused.
I have been quite busy with my webshop www.clausdalby.dk But now I'm here and in today’s video I will talk about some of the great perennials in the garden just now.

I have purchased my copy and am loving it. I haven’t read it all yet, been so busy in my own garden as well as helping my daughter start a garden at her home. The book is a beautiful addition to my library. I know it will be referenced a lot. So happy to have it! Can’t wait to read the rest. Thank you for all you do to help us be better gardeners too.

It has been mild here in October - but very, very wet.

Parasol is also used in English as an earlier word for a sun shade umbrella. I was thinking about you when I bought my alliums. Now I have also discovered that I have inherited Danish, Swedish and Norwegian DNA from my ancestors, which made me very happy.

What a beautiful climate you have in Denmark! I would love to grow Monkshood, but it is too hot and humid for them in New Jersey (near New York,) If I could grow them, I would grow almost only Monkshood, with some reblooming irises, and spiderwort and aster to pick up the purple color. Delphiniums also do not grow well for us here, alas.

I have grown Cobaea on a wall, on a trellis , this year I grew 1 plant one an arbor. It was huge with many blooms. I developed a very bad rash and realized it was from my walking through the arbor and the plant rubbed against my arms. It is the only things that I could discern was the cause. My husband sadly took it down 😢, if this was the cause. I will plant it again but somewhere I will not be touching it. This may sounds crazy but it truly is a magnificent plant. I live in western Canada zone 4a.

Hi Claus, Are those blue flowers also called Monkshood? I have ordered some for the Spring, but then was discouraged to read they are poisonous. Have you any knowledge of them? Thanking you in advance and love watching your videos.
Yes, they are Monkshood and they are indeed poisonous. I don’t consider it a problem, but you should perhaps read about it online to decide for yourself.

I have a question about cobaea : in Denmark, do you manage to get ripe seeds ? Because, that's my problem here in Belgium. I also have a lot of fruits but they remain green (inside too).

I am not sure whether you want to buy a Danish copy or an English one. The latter can be ordered online from many webshops and the Danish one you will find in most well-stocked bookshops.

Aconite. That's poisonous isn't it?
I love monkshood but compared to delphiniums, delphinium can make a pet sick but monkshood will kill your pets
