Thanks for visiting the Freshcutky organic gardening channel. In the garden, I will answer some of the most common "gardening for beginners" type questions I get, including growing flowers from seed. Growing greens, growing flowers, and planting beautiful organic food is something I'm really passionate about. Thank you for joining me as I learn to grow flowers, cut flowers, vegetables, and much more. Freshcutky youtube channel and related media are for entertainment purposes only.
Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.

    What is "@freshcutky"?
@freshcutky documents the pursuit of my goal of one day owning my own cut flower farm. Along the way, you'll see random projects, cooking, and of course - growing stuff. I'm not an expert, and would never claim to be. There's always more to learn - this is my journey. The purpose of my blog, and other social media accounts (including RUclips) is to share ideas. I do my best to offer information that is useful, but reliance on that information is strictly at your own risk and NOT a substitute for professional advice of any kind. I do not create sponsored content or use affiliate links unless they have been explicitly stated above.

Being someone from a tropical country, I always get my fill of non-tropical flowers content from your videos! I really appreciate your approach and conversational storytelling, it's always interesting and extremely informative. You also always have top notch snippets and b-roll of the flowers. I'm always eagerly anticipating any content from you. I hope you know how much your videos are appreciated! ❤

This is the second year I've tried ranunculus. First time was a bust. This time they look lovely and have lots of buds! I'm so excited! I planted in early March and hooked and covered them. This year I want to try fall planting half of them and comparing the results.

Thank you soooo much for sharing your experience and tips! I planted mine really late this year and they barely grew at all. I'll start them this fall and try again with your advice in mind! Also...pay no attention to the haters that nitpick everything you do! You're doing great and there are many of us who appreciate your videos!!

Tonya, This is the best of the best guides for Growing Ranunculus. I'm in zone 7A, Right after I watched your video in early Nov, I soaked all my ranunculus corms, then planted them out in late Nov. The cold snap before Xmas was really scary,(Sorry it swept up yours)I used whatever I had to build a caterpillar tunnel. When I uncovered the tunnel on X-mas morning, I was surprised to see everyone survived. It makes me feel like this is the best Xmas gift ever. They're very healthy so far, Can't thank you enough for your wonderful guide. Will keep following you.

What a gorgeous flower the ranunculus is and well worth trouble to grow them.

This was well put together and sorely needed in my opinion. I’m on the shore in Md and sounds like our climate is very similar, I’m going to try planting in autumn this yr. Thanks for taking the time to make this one.

There are so many haters on the internet. I’ve found that those who have the most harsh comments are those who don’t have much gardening experience themselves. So with their narrow experience/ singular context, they’re criticizing your choices. The important thing is to learn the principles of gardening. When you have a wholistic view, you’ll be far less critical of the methods others use.

Thank you for the fantastic videos. I’ve learned so much from you! After successfully growing Dollar Store ranunculus corms, I graduated to Home Depot corms. I planted them last October and am now enjoying their blooms. I now have the confidence to buy some of the pricey corms and try again this October. Very exciting!

Thanks so much for this video! I did watch the whole thing 😊 this is my first year successfully growing ranunculus. Well almost, the foliage looks amazing but the blooms haven’t started yet. I’m in Zone 6. I always love seeing the beautiful blooms in your videos! Hello from Nova Scotia, Canada 🍁

Hi! I’ve been growing ranunculus for two seasons (this is my second season) in zone 5. Last season after the flower stopped blooming and died back, I pulled up the corms and stored them in the garage in a dark dry place that did not freeze. I pre-sprouted them in early spring, and they all came back. They are in the ground now and I got my first bloom. So I think you can keep them like perennials as long as you go to the trouble of pulling them. They are a little like bulbs. ❤❤❤
