Thank you for the video and congratulations on your child! I was wondering if you don't mind sharing from where you got the super wide bed prep rake?

Hi 5th year flower farmer going into year 6.
Kindly hear me out on saving ranuncs. We don’t spray anything on our farm. We rely on beneficial insects.. we grow in an extremely hot dry climate zone 10b Southern California. We don’t have cold weather or even a frost here. I let my ranuncs die back every year dig them up by not watering the rows so it’s super easy to pull them out. One corm becomes 6-8 new corms. I tossed them on my back deck not protected by anything just in a giant pile through the triple digits of summer. Cut the stems off in Nov and soaked them. I also don’t presprout. Planted them all out and they do fine every year. We plant our 950+ per year. We are at 78 degrees now the 26th of December. We heat up fast but we also grow amazing ranuncs. Saving the corms saves me TONS of money to buy the success varieties since those are patented and we cannot save those.

Fall planted corms do not need pre-sprouting, it is done in early spring to get a head start on the corms sprouting and flowering earlier

I love growing flowers but like you, I don't like bugs or anything on me, and I will periodically scream when something tries to land on me 😅 I've since realized there's no point in setting out any chairs or benches near my flowers cuz I can't sit with the bugs 😂

What stakes do you use in your HT for netting?

Don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve always heard to keep a bounty fabric softener sheet in your pocket and the bees will leave you alone.

Do you know off hand if they like a more acidic soil, 7-6?

I planted a bunch of Ranunculus and the rabbits ate the ones in pots. 20 feet away, the ones in the ground were fine so for me no pots, Makes no sense but what are you going to do.
