I like how around the 5:08-5:09 minute mark, when Madame Giry blocks him from escaping, he points at her like “you? You’ve joined their side too, haven’t you,”

I think it's nice that they have Raoul push the guy trying to shoot the Phantom out of the way to protect Christine it's a little thing but it adds alot
I love Phantoms dejected slow arm movement after Christine unhooded him like he’s saying “you really killed the mood”. Then the turn around realized he’s surrounded and then the sudden proposal. Like was this part of his plan? Obviously he wrote the opera so he could do the switcharoo, but did he really think Christine wasn’t gonna pull his hood up? He obviously had to reveal himself at some point, this whole opera was just a thinly veiled setup to try to seduce her.
Also I wonder when exactly Christine figured out it was him. Was it when he turned away the first time she tries to pull the hood? Awfully nice of her to finish the song out first. I love she pulls the mask off him like “excuse me? You really putting a ring on me while singing my finance’s love song at me, I don’t think so!”
I love how Christine pulls The Phantom’s hood up! It’s like she’s playing peek-a-boo with The Phantom! You know?
I think Christine knew that The Phantom was on stage with her the whole time. I mean, Christine is an intelligent character. And, though The Phantom tries to make his voice sound like Piangi, it is obviously The Phantom singing to and with Christine the whole time. Good one, Erik!
Seeing so many incarnations of the characters throughout the years I'm still amazed how everyone puts their own twist to the same song. Julia is definitely more flirty than some of the previous singers. I'm just so used to having the word 'consume' accentuated strongly and I kinda missed that
agreed!! I always look forward to hearing how each person emphasizes "consume", and missed it here as well. Her voice is absolutely lovely though!!

That is the real question all of us would like to know the answer to. I am hoping for the final lair, wishing, prima donna, and the overture.
I’ll probably be posting up the overture soon. That will be the last one. In retrospect, I would have wanted the complete final lair too but at that point I decided to just enjoy the last part without worrying about the video…
Also, “wishing” ended up being a bad video recording but it sounds great. I may put the audio up also.

It breaks me and makes me so sad to say this - I’ve given up hope that there will be a Live recording of Phantom of the Opera. I’m not talking about the 25th Anniversary concert, by the way. I mean, a Live recording of the final Broadway performance.

@@ed56533 I want to have hope. I really do. It’s just I’m tired of waiting. Although, someone told me it might be released at a later date as a surprise. You never know. And then my mom told me to always have hope.
My understanding is that the original cast was recorded live, and the recording is at the Performing Arts Library at Lincoln Center. All Broadway shows of note are recorded. However, you can't request to view a show that's currently running. I hope, now that Phantom has closed, that people can go to the library and see it - and more importantly, that the recording is released! I'd love to see Crawford and Brightman!!

@Edgar I concur. Especially with Love Never Dies having a staged version recorded live, it's counterpart Phantom of the Opera should too.
However, with it being such a huge hit, a recording may be out of the question since people eoukd just by the recording instead of letting the spectacle astound them.
But POTO is gone, you say. Right? That's a maybe. It may continue worldwide amd even U.S tours and London. And since it is in London, ALW probably doesn't want to record a staged version of it quite yet.
Sadly many mega musicals of the 80s probably won't see a video of a staged recording. It'd be great to see videos of a Les Miz, Miss Saigon, or even Starlight Express. While les miz has a movie, seeing a recording of a staged production may take away some of the spectacle from seeing it live.
We got a video of a staged recording of cats. Lol. That's about it from the 1980s mega mustcals. Having a live video recording of Miss Saigon would have been nice.
However, Miss Saigon's sadly may have aged with the times. Its an accurate representation of thoughts and social norms of the times based on a true story, but the misogyny is a bit overwhelming.

Did the chandleier crash?
You can see that in the video “All I Ask of You Reprise” on my channel. It’s different than the movie version where the chandelier drops after this song instead. BTW, in a lot of ways I kind of prefer the implementation of Point of No Return from the movie version.

I like the way it was done in the movie better. Why is he wearing a shroud, looks dumb.
