  • Namfleg presents the art of creating enamel dials. Now the traditional decorative technique is applied to contemporary lady’s watches, but just as it was 100 years ago all enameling is still done by hand.

This is not enamel but a polymer with UV harding process produce by Heimerle +Meule it call COLORIT . The real enamel process is a fusion of the enamel powder (Component of silice) the temperature must be more than 600° C -> close to 800°. This is the reason why enamel is so difficult to produce in therm of quality and quantity. The price is also in relation of it. Patek Philippe, Van Cleef, Ulysse Nardin, Vacheron Constantin, Hermès etc... use real enamel only.
You play with the words and make confusion in the spirit of the people. The traditional art of enamel is from the old middle age and you can go in the museum to see how the enamels are always beautiful because this is Glass.

I dont care if this is enamel or not. I really find it attractive and I guess, that's what counts.

Definitely not traditional enameling, though very beautiful none-the-less!

Beautiful dials, but it's not 'just as it was 100 years ago all enameling is still done by hand' at all, this is a polymer resin, not vitreous glass enamel that is fired in a kiln.

@@JC6411 Hi Julian, this kind of "enamel" is liquid plastic (epoxy) and you can put it in any kind of metal, it will harden with UV light. The real Glass enamel is a completely different process and requires firing at high temperatures. You can use gold, silver, copper and some other metals with glass enamel.
